  2. I didn’t grow up in the hood and my parents were still negative. We were upper middle class blacks. I’m impressed with how he was able to see past his traumas and remain focused. Some of us are still trying to figure it out. I definitely feel him on only being around positivity and protecting your energy.

  11. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area from the 1970's to the 2000's. SF was a pretty city, but had issues, but it never was as bad as this. So sad to see. This is the end result of well intentioned, but ultimately stupid/infantile policy decisions by people who cannot govern with a firm hand and have no respect for the honest/working people in the city.

  20. Here's the thing, I am a black male from the Deep South. My extended family still owns portions of the plantation where my ancestors were enslaved. That is very common in the south. I tell people that when I was a kid, we shopped at the Co-Op and everything was cheap or done on the barter system. My Grandparents had livestock and would put a Notice at the Co-Op for any local farmers who wanted to trade or barter Wheat, Grain, Corn, Potatoes, Onions, etc for chicken, beef, or pork.

Peter Santenello is one of the greatest youtubers of all time, definitely top 5 since I started watching him about two months ago by random discovering him interviewing people who live isolated and free from money etc... This guy lets people speak, doesn't try to really promote his own channel, just an amazing human being regardless of his faith, or lack of faith, or anything of that nature. May god bless this dude for real.

  23. Lived in Phoenix for 8yrs. 7yrs of it I was homeless, incarcerated, in rehab, and sober living. I lived in the Zone for 5mo. I'm almost 5.5yrs clean and living my best life back in Chicago. ❤ Worked for CBI for 1.5yrs. WE DO RECOVER WE DO GIVE BACK WE DO THRIVE!!! ❤

  29. Peter, the thing some people may not know is Cajuns in South Louisiana are taught very young to love our neighbor. We grow up seeing our parents and grandparents help others - it doesn't matter if you're a stranger or not. We are here to help one another. Acts of kindness are very important to us. We love you and see you as family. We know we need each other. Each person we meet, we meet for a reason. Yes, there are exceptions, but for the most part, Cajuns have big hearts. We have and will rescue you (in a boat usually) if you're stuck/flooded, give you dry clothes, and feed you a good meal. Nothing expected in return. Do good when you can - that's Cajun. Have gratitude for the small things - that's Cajun. Throw a big temper tantrum and yell a lot when you've been wronged - that's Cajun. Work hard, eat a good supper, and pray before you go to sleep - that's Cajun. Keep going - that's Cajun. Thank you, Peter, for showing parts of Louisiana to the world.   35. I was a sex worker in 2017. It was horrible. My first night was in Vegas. I cried in a way I never cried before. My soul cried. I wasn’t trafficked but I was mentally manipulated into getting into it and staying for 6 months. I am now a licensed mental health therapist and am fully saved by Christ. God bless these women. Amazing work. I am in tears.

Everyone has an idea that it's all surfboards and movies, but the truth is that it has everything. Beaches, forests, mountains, deserts, cities, agriculture and people from all walks of life.   47. I used to drive my old toyota corolla to the beverly hills hotel because I was a make-up artist at the time and it was only valet parking. (I would go there to do make-up for a wedding.) They didn't blink, the guys would take my car just like it was a rolls royce. I used to laugh about it cause my car was not in good shape. Same with Beverly Hills homes, I had a make-up service to go to their house and would park my old beat up car in front and go do my job. folks are just folks... thanks for your killer videos Peter!
