  2. I lived in Egypt for six years and loved it! Alexandria is gorgeous and the Mediterranean is amazing. We had a home in Cairo and a summer villa a bit west of Alexandria. I loved the people and the life there. I still have friends from there even after I left a few years ago. The people are very hospitable and amazingly friendly and warm.

  6. It’s not as crappy elsewhere as you may think. I’ve lived in Portugal for the past 20 years and I can walk the streets at night without fear, if I get sick (which I have), I know it won’t bankrupt me, the weather is great, the infrastructure is top-notch, and I pay a lot less taxes than I did in the US. Sorry, but I don’t buy the cliche that everywhere it’s crappy. But like they say, “to each, his own.”

  7. Always enjoy your perspective Andrew. Priorities are definitely most important. Adventure, warmth, and closeness to family are top for me as a retired Canadian. I’ve been to Nicaragua and a lot of south/central countries so we all don’t think Nicaragua is run by a dictator but political stability is an issue for me. Thanks again

  10. No money is involved in citizenship by descent. It involves ancestry ties. Also, it's the freedom of anyone to not like the country he's born to. It's called being free to think, to say what you want and to leave also !

  24. Great videos as always. I live in Thailand with my Thai wife. The situation for foreigners is becoming more and more untenable. Due to COVID-19 Americans are also banned from Most of the world for the time being. We’d love to establish residence in Europe whenever they will allow Americans back after a vaccination is found. My eyes have finally been opened that a 2nd residency or citizenship is a must for Americans who live abroad. It’s crazy to think that now my wife Thai passport is more valuable then my American one.

  32. Andrew, I want to Thank you for this really wonderful and enlightening Video!! My Mother was born in Scotland and immigrated with her Family as a Child to the United States. She never gave up her UK (Scottish) Citizenship. Now I have recently learned that I am allowed to claim UK Citizenship AND my Children can as well! I definitely do need to contact your Company for assistance. This would mean more than you could ever understand. My Wife and I are currently living in a SE Asian country with our two young Children.   34. We are New Zealand citizens and we have lived in Colombia for five and a half years so far. We have never regretted our decision. Colombia has a leftist government right now but the Congress keeps a brake on the worst excesses so we aren't too worried. Only another 2 years to go!! By then we will be 79!!

  35. I agree with Andrew about keeping your options open. When it comes to investing, I once heard said, invest like a crab. Maintain many legs of diversification so it is more difficult to tip you over.

  39. Hey Andrew I was looking into Malaysia, years before I discovered your YouTube channel and I was originally attracted to a town on the North end of the Penang Island. It didn't appear to be too far from George Town. I saw a unit for sale that was SOO CHEAP (compared to the US). Just wanted to let you that I really appreciate this video. 👍🏾

  44. Haha! “Kids don’t melt when you take them out of Australia” Well, you’re right! We have been doing this for 4 years now. We unschool or world school our children, and we can’t even imagine going back to America. We love our lives here in Malaysia (we lived two years in Thailand). There are schools online now. We can afford to be a family overseas easily than we ever could in America. We were a slave to the “American Dream” No more!!!! Great video!

Variety IS the spice of life. I spent three months early this year checking out two Mexican towns for future living. I have now had almost too much time back home and I also my my years in Asia. How good is life!
