  25. I agree 100% . If you just want to live somewhere nice on a Tourist Visa KL, Malaysia is the place. If you want to live long term in Thailand you're going to need a ED Visa, Business Visa or be a qualified English teacher.

  26. Like what you say about NY vs Mexico City. When I was growing up in NYC it was a city that never slept. Not so today. I live part time in Salvador Brazil which I love, but a 24 hour city is São Paulo! People are out eating at 3 am. Love it.

  30. I’m sorry that happened. I’m planning to get Irish citizenship via my grandparents and that connection to my heritage has always meant a great deal to me. Don’t let that aspect stop you from enjoying fully your heritage. Governments don’t control who we are.

  31. I'm considering doing it myself. I've lived in Europe for almost 20yrs and have citizenship. I have no intention of ever moving back. Having to file taxes in a country that I haven't lived in for two decades is stupid and expensive. I have healthcare for virtually free and can see a doctor the same day. And medication is very cheap. And no gun violence. I'm very happy. I have an online webcam meeting with a lawyer to ask questions. So, will see. I might become an exAmerican too.

  37. The only reason I was able to run away from Venezuela was thanks to my second passport. I have friends without second passport and they're trapped, or had to run away illegally. Can't recommend enough to get a second passport ASAP before it's too late.

  38. In my opinion there are huge moral arguments for tax avoidance: taxes finance illegal wars and waste people's money they need for retirement - government does a bad job fulfilling this need. There are many other examples but those have the strongest. If you worry about the social implications find out how much your taxes would help your neighborhood and donate to local fire fighting and retirement homes privately - your money will go a longer way anyway bc you take care who to give it and without bureaucracy. Also people who are against voting for moral / ideological reasons should turn to tax avoidance as a much stronger, more practical and self-proliferating method.

  49. Have my Italian citizenship by descent appointment this Thursday in Philadelphia and headed to Luxembourg at the end of the month so my wife can claim her citizenship by descent there. It's taken a long time to get here but the end is hopefully near! 🤞🇮🇹 🇱🇺
