Could you make a video about alternative paths, what you would do if you were younger, skills worth learning - in that direction? I would give you a big thanks and thumbs up for that.

I'd been watching your videos for a while, but I hadn't seen this. After this, now I understand why you're the Tech Lead.

See you all on the sandy beaches of Bali 🤞🏻

Hey man, YT suggested one of your videos. After first 5 sec of watching I was like WTF is this. I'm glad I watched it and then watched more and more. So simple, truthful and inspiring to all our geek bros. Keep up the good work! Regards.

Some people feel bummed about this vid. DON'T COMPARE YOURSELF TO TTL or anyone for that matter. This was a 10 minute highlight reel of 10 years of his life. I'm sure he had his fair share of challenges and setbacks as the video has touched on. Live your life and put some awesome experiences on the calendar.

This video is a fantastic tool for those who want to learn about investing. You outline the risks and the problems of investing on your own very well. Great Job and great service to your countrymen if they should choose to listen.

The main idea in this video is very important. You don't see people talk about this almost at all. Everybody is focused on looking for the best ways to learn, the latest up to date courses and resources in general (any other serial bookmarkers out there that never go back to touch half of them?). Forget all that shit, you can get by with literally almost nothing as a resource if you have the hunger and discipline. Hell, having one cheesed out book or one docs page as a resource is probably even much better than drowning in the "best" stuff. You can have the best resources and even teachers in the world, but if you don't have the hunger and focus to put the hours in, you are not going to do anything at all. Fairly obvious perhaps, but it really hits you properly when you experience it for yourself. It's all about being able to put in the time relentlessly, focus on how to get yourself on that wavelength and don't worry about anything else. Once you really have that going for you, there is no way you can't succeed. No amount of books or courses or lectures will do that for you so they are all completely useless until you are really ready for them. Start there.

One hell of a story

If an Asian guy lost 350K, I stand no chance as a caucasian.(after watching the entire video, he bought commodities in a deflationary environment and went on margin). Gold and silver are gov't manipulated, bad bet, using margin, worse bet.

I had a similar experience with active trading. Thankfully it cost me a whole lot less to learn the lesson (closer to $10k). Ended up going down pretty much the same path as you, including dabbling in programmatic trading. All my investments are low cost index funds and multi-year buy and holds now. It's slow and boring, which isn't very fun, but it consistently grows in value, has very little risk of losing value over long timeframes, and needs attention like 2-3 times a year. The thing that did it for me was realizing that there's people out there who do this for a living, and they have a huge head start with resources to back them up. You don't stand a chance... focus on what you love, bet on the market in aggregate, and most importantly: forget about it for a while. You don't get rich by calling a 10% swing after earnings come out, you get rich by growing your investments by a couple percent every year over decades.
