When I was 18, I was part of a sister-city trip to Nagaoka, but we spent several days in Tokyo. I had an ulterior motive as I wanted to work for an anime studio as a mecha designer, specifically for Studio Nue and apprentice under the great Shōji Kawamori. Well...I went, took my sketchbooks with me, and they were actually so impressed with what I had done as a teenager that they actually offered me my dream! A job as an apprentice to Kawamori-san, they would help me get situated in Tokyo, help with my Visa....everything.
Then my dad told them no, that I wasn't there to get a job (but I was), and since they were mostly older gentlemen who were very "traditional" Japanese men, they respected my fathers words over my own. Had the opposite been the case, II would have been living in Japan for over 30 years now and be quite happy in my life there instead of miserable in America.

Hater breakdown:
That Asian girl saying you suggest that knowing a second language means you understand the culture is completely wrong, you never insinuated or stated that, but there is credit to the idea that knowing and speaking a person's native language that isn't your own opens them up to sharing their culture with you because that are encouraged.
So, she is like some Asian people raised in an asian culture in that she is racist without even recognizing it or seeing it as a problem. It's not necessarily a malevolent racism, but it's definitely discriminatory and the thought that others are inferior for being different in any way and not uniform or conformist. She is a fool and ignorant of her own shortcomings.
Those guys voices, whatever their "podcast" or channel is I don't know them, but they seem like loud morons. What kind of an idiot gets mad about someone else simply showing their own interactions and perspectives and lightly encouraging others to pursue learning a language if they want to? He gets mad, and starts ranting about it while simultaneously swearing and saying that he does care about it/ you etc. If he didn't care about it he'd stop watching it and commenting on it and getting mad about it. I don't care about the Kardashians, and because I don't care about them at all I have never once watched anything involving them or their drama. I don't go ranting about them etc. saying I don't care.
Those guys sound like "nice guy" incels who like to b**ch and moan about how women don't appreciate them etc.
Pearl, you have very small teeth as far as your front incisors. Not a bad thing or a good thing, just something unique about you. Assuming it's not something caused by grinding like in your sleep etc. It makes you look interesting, like literally it catches your eye but not in a bad way, and I think part of it is because it accentuates your canines more, makes them look longer, which is actually a beauty thing in some cultures.
People like the haters are pathetic and weak and filled with self disgust that instead of coming to terms with, they hyperfocus on other people and criticizing others makes them feel temporarily better about themselves. It's ok to disagree or dislike someone based on their thoughts or views etc., but to focus on their physical traits is just stupid.
Keep doing what makes you happy. As you've seen great growth with your channel lately, unfortunately for many YouTube creators that also means at least temporary increase in negative attention as well, though hopefully they will move on to the next topic or target soon enough.
