  5. I so appreciated this video! On one our goat escape rampages, they got into our rododendrons. We entered our barn thenext morning to find green vomit plastering the walls. Have you had your goats vomit? It's like a gush of venom spewing straight out of their mouths at an astonishing speed that can only be believed if actually witnessed. Ezzie was our goat demon. Lolipop was our godsend. It's been almost 10 years since Loli died. Not sure if we could do it again. But your delightful video was not only spot on informative, but reminded me just how much joy they can bring. And for this, a deep ans sincere thank you!

  7. Alpaca wool is also VERY antimicrobial. I wear a lot of it, and unless I sweat a TON, I can easily wear the same pair of socks 3-4 days without any foot funk. A teeshirt will last a week without washing. One of the things they tell you when you buy Alpaca wool clothes is not to wash it nearly as often as you think you need to.

  8. This is hands down the best exploration in fruit tree establishment I’ve seen. It took me 10 years in the orchard to learn and believe these lessons. I took lots of before and after pictures of trees and individual major decisions for about 5+ seasons. The trees taught me so much. I was only managing 60 or so trees, but when I took over the orchard the trees hadn’t been pruned for a decade.

  12. My sister had a pygmy goat, just one. It was named Goatie, and it was the biggest character of any pet I have known. It roamed freely and hung out where the people hung out, pestered the dogs and horses. She was a complete oddball but in a really good way. Goatie lived for 14 years, she was a great pet.

  14. December, I put down a strip of tp, wet it, sprinkle with carrots seeds, another strip of tp, spritz it, and leaves it. Snow keeps it wet so when the weather warms up, they sprout.

  33. We have had dairy goats for 9 years and I can affirm EVERYTHING you said! We keep 30-40 on a regular basis. Nigerians, Kinders, and Mini Lamancha's. You referenced some of the costs. In the current economy they will cost you money! But the quality of life they provide is well worth it. They provide ALL our dairy as we make cheese, yogurt, kiefer, etc., and they provide about 75% of our meat.

  34. I have a goat that I call my miracle goat x3. When she was born she died but we were able to revive her; unfortunately she scratched the lens of her eye so she has a cataract on one eye. Then she got blood poisoning, got it cleared, then pneumonia, got it cleared up, and lastly she got goat polio and the vet told me every time not to get too attached to her. Then she went blind from the polio and the vet said she wouldn’t get her site back. Lo and behold she got her site back. And her name is Baby

I worked a 40-60 hour/week job, commuting 3 hours/day while developing my 10 acre farm, caring for two horses, 3 dogs, and 5 cats and overseeing my mother's care for her last ten years while dementia engulfed her. I learned to do only what needed to be done, when it needed to be done in the best way to do it. I learned to function on minimal sleep, cook bulk recipes when I had time to cook and I asked for help when I needed it. I'm glad to have that phase of life behind me.

  43. I had a tiny tot born a couple years ago. I actually set her to the side thinking she was dead😢 and then I saw her twitch. After feeding her with an eyedropper for a couple of days, I weighed her and she was 13.3 Oz! She is still thriving and Tiny today😊

  46. We had a small dairy farm in the 70s milking 50 to 60 mostly Holsteins. I've got to say it's was a daunting task trying to farm and go to school as a kid. It's even harder you trying to do it with one hand. Bravo to you Anne. 👏👏👏. Hang in there girl.

Anne- I just want to thank you for your part in this, as someone who has ADHD and has struggled with it my entire life, I found it difficult to follow what the arborist was saying (albeit him doing a great job, it's just my brain and the way it processes things) but you pausing it and asking him to further explain and dissecting it so that other's could capture it in a different way, was extremely helpful and valuable. Just so you know, it's highly appreciated it and IT IS ONE OF YOUR MANY STRENGTHS, NOT A WEAKNESS. We all learn at different levels, paces and by different means, having the ability and wherewithal to take something that doesn't make sense and explain it to people so that it does, is a talent. You do that! So thank you from me, my brain and my apple tree 🍎
