Please save yourself MORE work: drive your wheelbarrow on the bare cardboard to the end of the row, THEN dump it, so you don't have to drive in the uncompacted wood chips. Much easier!

I just learnt more than I ever thought a donkey would need. Thank you. I really admire your love for all your animals. Later

This is quite comprehensive. I made the mistake of using straight compost in my raised bed. You know, if a little is good, more is better….not! I appreciate your clarity as this would work almost anywhere one lives. I get super irritated when people use weed barrier cloth instead of cardboard. 9 years in my present house and I continue to dig out, multiple layers of encrusted, impermeable weed fabric from my yard.

I supper appreciate your dedication to your alpacas. I'm heart broken over how many people took in dogs during the pandemic then decided that after a one to two years to send them to the pound because they didn't want to care for them anymore. That is so devastating to a dog to be left like that.

Native bees vs nativized bees - splitting hairs. I mean, anyone who knows anything about honeybees will know what you meant. And while I've never killed a carpenter bee, if they were doing structural damage to my house I certainly would. As would almost anyone, bee lover or not. It's easy to comment on content, but hard to create it. And most of us appreciate all you've done. It's not your job to please the pharisees, nor is it possible. This channel is a reflection of your journey, and we're glad to be here with you. :)

"whenever we admit we are wrong, we instantly become right again"

I never thought this would make it to YouTube. I'm glad it did. Definitely not going to try that again though. Lol

Persnickety. This word is not used enough. Nicely done. Thanks for the suggestions!

🎉I won, I won, I won. I won a major award. Does this mean there is a hand carved leg lamp on its way?😅

Takes real CHARACTER to apologize to the public. Great job ❤

My grandfather was a peach farmer in the Niagara region, a mason and the grand son on a Presbyterian minister. He was my male mentor growing up and taught me to “never let a man suffer alone”. Today we have a 6 acre farm in the Annapolis valley as well as our home, for winter, near Halifax. We made no attempt to isolate, instead I found a farmer to mentor me and we help him with everything when he needs. Moving animals, haying, millling lumber, butchering goats and chickens…digging potatoes. Next year we will be planting 3 acres of land and giving away all the food. The prophet Isaiah told us that we must clothe, house and feed people…two of those are really hard to do personally. But I think we can feed some of them…so let’s go be a community.

it's hard to ask an expert to critic your work....this was great, and you're doing amazing!!

You don’t see videos of content creators reflecting and clarifying on previous small mistakes like this very often, but I always feel like I learn the most from videos like this. Thanks and happy new year!

I don’t have cows. I will probably never have cows (never say never?). And yet here I am enjoying this entire episode. I’ve learned so much. I’m so grateful that experts like you are willing to share your experiences. Thank-you🙏🏻

Had no clue all that could be done in a week holy crap that's neat

Ugh you’re not crying, we’re crying! Thanks for hosting band rehearsal, photo shoots, video shoots, and now THIS WEDDING! What would Delta Rae and I do without you guys? Anne, you’re the best friend that I’ve dreamed of and longed for my whole life and I am so grateful we get to share in the highs and lows. No matter what, I’m here. We’re here. We’ll do anything for you and we know whatever you’re going to create next will be inspiring and honest and a joy to tackle together. Thank you for this unorthodox wedding video. It captures it all ;) all my love, Britt

16:04 You’re the conductor for the Donkey Symphony! I loved this moment. You didn’t get upset. You just showed your great sense of humour.

Alternative business plan, resell all those sticks of lumber and you'll be a millionaire with current lumber prices. You're welcome ;)

Cat: pet me Anne: in a second, I'm doing a thing here Cat: no, PETS NOW.!

Peeps thought "lazy gardening" meant hiring you to do it for them. Only explanation....:P Love seeing everything you've accomplished over the past 6 years!

I asked the old timer at the feed store what he thought about the projected last frost date and planting. He said, "End of April/early May. If you put them in before that, they'll be chibberin' in the soil and won't grow as well once it is warm. I've seen em. You can see em just chibberin'. 😂

This has been perfect information Anne. Folk have got to study nature more because the answers are already there. Take for example a peach tree, the peach will fall to the ground, it will remain on top of the ground and the flesh will rot around it. Come autumn and the peach tree will lose its foliage, these leaves will fall onto the pip and protect it from the frosts. Eventually spring comes around again and the seed starts to break out - nothing is compacting anything else. Nature has been doing this for years! Thank you both for showing this - we all continue to learn :)

As a homeschooling mama to two dyslexics, I had to smile when you said you were dyslexic...it makes so much sense. Dyslexia breeds tenacity in my opinion, I have observed this time and time again in my kiddos. You my friend, have tenacity thru tears capacity....a trait that few acquire.

de way that the young bull tried to push Carson face first into the cow poop had me in stitches :)

Thank you ❤ Ive recently been struggling with depression. I REALLY NEEDED some Goat Medicine this morning. I had Goats. I Miss my Goats, especially my buck, Stormy, who acted more like a big dog than a buck goat. I WILL have Goats again! I can't keep up with the dairy side of things, so they will be fiber/ Angora Goats the next time. That way, I get the FUN, and here in Northern NM, can sell the fiber to the many fiber artists in the area. Taos even has an annual Wool Festival! I do LOVE GOATS! Always have...ALWAYS WILL!!! Re depression, don't worry. I am already in therapy 😉
54
Seriously? A failure? I watched the video and all I saw was you identifying areas for improvement. As others have said, that’s prototyping...not failure.

Lettuce: dark seeds should be covered for best germination. White seed shouldn't be covered for best germination.

“Brought to you by freedom” haha!! Love it.

When using the torch for weed control you can save a lot of propane by just cooking the weed instead of burning it, just a touch with the flame is usually enough and also reduces the risk of fires.
52
Great video, Anne, Daniel & Adam. Tons of helpful info! "Most of my life: undoing things that seemed like a good idea at the time." 😂 Right there with you! Thanks for being so honest and real!

Anne, Brene Brown says that vulnerability is the measure of bravery. And you are the definition of that. My heart is with you. Melissa🍀

Caleb had a big smile on his face when I drove up in the ATV and told me he was proud of me. Check out my favorite video collab with the best neighbor EVER! https://youtu.be/Z6ioBwkGkjI About the two mechanics, I'm beyond sure given enough time and reason to spend on the machine, both of them easily could have fixed it. The reason the original owner didn't want to fuss with it was because there was a serious problem with the carburetor and he isn't into using aftermarket parts, so a yamaha carb would have put the replacement cost much, much higher, and since he already has several other working vehicles, there was no point for him to invest, but all the better for me! Jason only gave up because he was here for a short visit and didn't have time to keep going on it. But in the end, I'm happy I was given the opportunity to figure it out myself, because that makes me all the more proud of my accomplishment.
51
If anyone can pull through all of this, I believe its you.
51
As a crazy dairy goat owner for the past 15 years, i gotta say this is by far the most accurate goat ownership video I've ever seen. Love me some goats, and yes I have Nigerian Dwarf goats.
50
Anne thanks for your prompt response. This clarifies a lot

Poor babies 😢 You’re such a good compassionate soul. I just love your spirit.
49
I wish the core message of this video could be spread beyond just farming. I am so tired of hearing "I don't need people" or seeing people going it alone. It's amazing how having other people around makes life such much easier to handle.
49
The farmer sounds so knowledgeable . These are the people who feed us. They should be taken care of. He is giving this consultation for free . Amazing.

"let's take a little gander" ...

Anne, you have my unending respect and admiration.

I mix my tiniest seed with a little flour. Be sure to stir thoroughly. Then broadcast my mixture over my planting bed or row. This helps me in 3 ways. 1, it helps keeping me from over sowing. I’m really prone to plant too thick. 2, I can see exactly where I put my seeds. 3 the little bit of flour that is there soaks up water easily so it helps moisten my seeds quickly to help germinate. The flour dissolves into soil in a day or two and adds a tiny bit of organic material to soil so it is not harmful to plant or soil. Note don’t use flour that has salt in it.

This girl is my favorite kind of weed. No herbicides for her. Natural nutrients only. She'll outlive us, all.

Being smart means recognizing your own errors. Love your content—hope there’s more to come!

OMG, that cat stealing some coffee and then gagging on it. Absolutely epic. 🤣😊🤣😊 A very nice table project too, BTW.
47
We bought raw woodland and our pigs are essential to our land-clearing endeavors! Behind them, we knock down trees that are still standing and either plant gardens or sow pastures for our grazers! Bonus: pasture-raised bacon 😁 Also, only the pink pigs are susceptible to sunburn. If you want a sunburn-proof pig, get berkshire or giant black ;)
46
“Boy Howdy” love it! Haven’t heard that term in forever.

Your truck and I are the same age. Your truck looks better.

Thumbs up for the chair, another for the cat.
