I remember geese on my grandparents farm. They were by the driveway, no one could drive up and surprise them.

You know, I listened carefully to what you communicated. First, your dream is morphing faster than your plan and you've had to readjust your thinking as well as your approach to fulfilling your dream. OK. I remember my dream was to build a charter business and the boat builder forced my wife and I into bankruptcy. He ran off with our money. Who does that? Finally, one day I decided to bow my back, put my big boy pants on and start over. Things went great and then it happened again because I let someone in who I thought was trustworthy. Even my wife thought so. Well, he wasn't and we almost lost everything again but did lose my entire retirement at 57. That guy was finally convicted of fraud and money laundering and we started over again. I turn 65 this week. I am happy and I have the part of my dream that I have wanted for 30 years. A cabin on a lake in the middle of Alaska. It doesn't get any better. I do have a mortgage on it but that's fine. This weekend the cabin was full of grandkids and kids and snowmobiles with friends and family.. My point.....Life is life and plans are judged based upon their adjustability and adaptability. You, your family, your friends and your plan are fine. Believe in your dream and bow your back! Good luck and love to you and Adam

This really explains a lot about my childhood time on Vashon Island, Washington. It wasn't until adulthood that I learned about what was going on that caused my Dad to give up on the farm. We had one cow, Gumdrop. What you explain here is most certainly part of the reason, I realize now. Thank you. This actually has helped me in a way you probably didn't anticipate.

I don’t garden. Desire to. Can’t. Disabled. But enjoy you & your genius lazy gardening. Trust me when I say you have explained your lazy gardening in such a way that people should “get it”. No worries. You have ALWAYS explained it well. More than well. Thank you for sharing!

I got a truck load of mushroom spawn and spred it all over the garden, yard, and surrounding forest!

Glad you are doing all this and I just get to watch. What a lot of work! BTW, hot water freezes faster because the H2O molecules can form crystals ("ice") only in certain relative orientations. It is kind of a V-shaped molecule. The faster they move and bump into each other ("heat") the quicker crystals form because more of them click into the right relative orientations faster. Yeah, chemistry.

Blueberries will be absolutely fine, and in fact they will thrive, growing in woodchips.

I love the fact that you are as enthusiastic about all the projects and not one. I tend to do the same myself.

This is hands down the best ice cream recipe I've found. Change my mind! Also, since you're here, I think you'll like this too: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWNVttqlY0tV69ww5ihqUNZnTjw_vdX_v

You have some beautiful hogs there Anne. I'm convinced that the inventor of the bulldozer came up with the idea after watching pigs root.

I'm "lazy gardening" this year....got too much to do elsewhere while it grows 🤣 this is my second year at this property. Ready for it to maintain itself! Lol

"Little bit of water" -> proceeds to dump a full bucket😂

Baby animals are the cutest thing on the planet. This is just heart warming.
19
howdy ann, failures are not always failures they are learning how not to do something.
19
Love your honesty. You don’t pretend to know it all, but you actually do know a lot, because you are fearless and you’re having fun. (I hope you understand what I’m trying to say. It’s early.)
19
I was about to say the same thing, it's only a failure if you didn't learn anything.

I got two dwarf Nigerian chaos gremlins, a whether and his sister, for their ability to take down honeysuckle. They have been so good at it that I have to get more hay this year. My overgrown yard has never looked better. Everything Anne said was spot on!
19
I love this collaboration you guys have. He brings the technical knowledge expressed in a simple way, and you bring the common questions and thought process many people who are learning would have which is a great combination. And you both love what you are doing :)

It's a mind set -- think of how you can give your future self a gift ... do the preventive measures now so it's easier in the future

Haha I never write comments but I’m laughing at the type of viewers that feel the need to ‘correct’ or feel so triggered by ‘chard’ ? You are clearly doing what works for you and that’s what I like about the content. Viewers need to make informed decisions in their own areas and just enjoy your genuine commitment to healthy soil, animal welfare, and building food resilience in your environment/location. I’m in New Zealand so maybe I’m less bothered by some mistakes- Anne your honesty is awesome and good on you for correcting some mistakes and learning as you go! You rock!

Great video production Anne and Adam, love the tour and all the animals. Wonderful to see you and them all so happy and healthy.

Found your channel thru April Wilkerson and have not been disappointed. Did not realize how much you have done this past year. Great work!!!

"It's just gardening and it's supposed to be fun" is definitely what I 8 needed to hear. ❤😅

I have a 16 year old daughter that's an expert cinnamon roll baker. I don't have to make them or bake them, just hafta beg for them. :-)
18
I learn from your mistakes. For those that love to point out your mistakes, perhaps they can start a channel to show what it's like to be perfect. ❤ Keep being you. We all learn from you, and when each video is complete, most of us walk away having learned something and feeling just down right happy.

I know it is not sunshine and roses every minute of every day but I love the strategies and accomplishments that you manifest in life. This is THEE one channel that stays true to the theme put in place and I very much appreciate that it does. Many lessons learned. Your struggles turned into your strengths and became a valuable teaching tool. Thank you for all you the knowledge and friendship.

Oh my God I was like.... There's no way this lady doesn't have adhd cuz this sounds like all the hacks I do to get around my adhd. Also I highly recommend painting your tools really bright colors. Like neon pink. Also since my garden is in the front yard I keep a bunch of bins by the front door on a sofa table shelf that have all smallmy gardening supplies

My summer has mainly been processing a 3' dia. x 85' tall red oak that fell due to over saturated ground. 4 cords and still splittin'.
18
I’m blown away hearing you say that you felt dumb and you were afraid to teach. I’ve learned so much from you and I love the way you teach! Thank you for the wonderful videos.
18
If I kept gardening the way I used to back in the 90s, I would have quit long before now. I am too busy now to garden that way. Mulch, compost and such changed my life and made me “mostly- hands-off”. If you compare a tilled up garden to how we do it now-way different!!! It makes me think I’m “lazy” but I’m not. Love your videos!!!
18
I love your honesty, I hope this helps other farmer's make good decisions.
18
"because chickens suck" As someone who has about 30-40 chickens at any given time of the year on my farm, I can absolutely attest to that statement. Working on my mobile coop right now! Will have to watch that video for some ideas. Thanks for making great content!
18
Just retiring having been in the industry all my life and I found this video inspiring. Well done girls, fantastic job!
18
You love your aminals soooo much, Anne! I imagine/hope that most farmers do, but yours are particularly fortunate! I don't farm, but I love to learn. Great posts! Thank you!
18
Gorgeous chair, Anne! Sending lots of hugs and good thoughts to you; Abby was one lucky pup to be loved so much by your family.
18
Ha ha I have the same cat with almost identical personality... I'm not a cat person but mine is starting to grow on me :-) they are cuddly...keep up the great work Anne and by the way "There are no failures in life just rapid design changes"

The way you explained compost in this video makes it make a lot more sense to me.
18
Lazy gardening but she’s one of the most hard working ladies on YouTube
18
You’re doing it all wrong! Start an hour later than you planned, don’t sharpen your tools, don’t waste time cleaning or organizing, planning ahead is a waste of time you know, stop and have a coffee and cigarette every 20 minutes or so and spend at least 30 minutes every day talking about how hard you work. I’ve been practicing this my whole life and seem to get better and better at it the older I get. Oh yea, I almost forgot, spend every Saturday morning watching Anne work instead of my shadow. There! My best advice! After I hit the like button I’m going out to the shop and try to get something done. Wish me luck.

@AnneofAllTrades Thank you ma'am!

The Black and White Cat is your little shadow . He's so cute and definitely loves you. Love your channel.

@rainy_wish_studios here's the thing. Goats know and trust who they know and trust. They know we are all different and it takes a few days to win them over. Sometimes months but it happens and dairy goats are the worst. But I always win them over. Goats are smart. Alpacas are quite possibly smarter yet and not very trusting. It has taken years to get 2 of the 3 to take a treat from my hand

Love how you kill your cilantro to get some more! 😁😁 My boys (2, 4 and 6) actually love veggies of all kind. But it can happen that they refuse it and tell an astounded grandparent they "don't like store bought cucumbers, only those from mama's garden" 🤣🤣 Just learning the way of lazy gardening, I get so much out of your videos! Thank you! Best wishes from Austria
18
Blueberries you stole from the forest. Honestly harvesting wild plants got me into gardening. Much easier to gather when they are just out in your yard.
18
👍❤️😀 thank you for sharing a small amount of your personal life.
17
Seriously, this little tree had been through it since we planted it back in 2021. I felt guilty and hopeless and scared with all the mistakes I’d made, and finally got to the place where I could redirect that energy into humility, research, and measured action. I’m so grateful to these gifted and generous individuals for creating and posting this video for the world.
