  1. i unknowingly used many of these tricks in 2005 and 2006 in my school days. As a proof of these tricks working, I can say that I flunked 11th grade and had to repeat that year. I scored 37 in english in 10th grade 57% overall. from there, i went to scoring top marks in english (87/100) and 78% overall in 12th grade. And never felt like i was burning out. i only studied a few topics, which mostly appear in exam papers. Some topics, i decided upfront not to study since they would require a lot of time with lower probability of ending up in exams. among the topics that appear important, those that i couldn't understand or remember, i made small font post-it note size pieces of paper, which kids around here use in exams to cheat. But i made them several weeks to months before exam and carried them around. since they were always on me, i could read them any time. The poop time was exclusively used towards reading through a post it. with time, many of these concepts became clearer and stayed in my brain and by the time exams were around the corner, i had ran through almost all of the notes. Now, as a grown up, I wanted to pick up the habit of reading books. So, I inculcated the habit of holding a book in one hand and a cigarette in the other while I strolled around the office. As I started feeling dependence on smoking, I decided to drop it and now, i hold a cup of coffee or tea in one hand while reading and walking. Honestly, I still don't enjoy reading. But this hack has helped me get through some 40-50 books in the last couple of years. That wouldn't sound like much to someone in the habit of reading, but it's enormous for me since I didn't read books at all during my first 35yrs of life (except for exams and stuff). I'm even past my 'mount stupid' in terms of book reading. I no longer feel the urge to share everything I learn from books. In fact, I always feel like there's always more to learn. While commuting, I have an audio book playing, where I have churned through another 50-60 books.
