Awesome! There was another video highlighting how "Tit for Tat" aligns more closely with the "Eye for an Eye" teachings of the Old Testament, whilst the New Testament focuses more on forgiveness and turning the other cheek, which is very much in line with Generous Tit For Tat. One can argue that it took many iterations of humans playing the game of life, until a game theoretic optimal was discovered -- not formally, but through religious stories.

I'm from Utah and I've seen these on google maps before! Always wondered what they are!

Thanks!

Wow just watched the entire video and I am willing to bet this is your masterpiece ever produced

You, vsauce, minute physics and smarter everyday are on the mount Rushmore of science YouTubers!!!!!!! You all inspired me to do YouTube videos of science And I am doing pretty good with 265 subscribers 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

Hello Derek. This video is compact and concise. I love every second of it and I learned a lot from it. This seems like a youtube original series. Are there many more like this to come? I really hope so. This video connects a lot of info like Vsauce but concise. Your videos and other youtube science channel's are the future of Discovery Channel and Nat Geo. Unlike those in the past, videos today are condensed and quick (but not vague). That's one way I know a video is high quality for me. I barely noticed the video was almost 20mins long. It's kinda sad that it is just 20mins long. Hope to see more. Thanks Derek.

That ben quote is so applicable for all of humanity. From sketchy medical practices like not washing your hands. To the global warming crisis were facing today. Or the wide spread capitalization of whip its marketed towards teenagers. Idk, it just hits close to home for me. I live in Utah, and we are repsonsible for an astronomical amount of the entire nations chlorine emissions. We hit days where we are respomsible for 99% of chlorine emissions for that day.

This must be the peak of teaching skills, I doubt it gets better than Veritasium videos (also some other creators like the mentioned 3Blue1Brown).

This is beautifully explained. Incredible journey to the blue LED! This is a good example of how persistence can overcome huge challenges, and drive innovation. It is a beacon of inspiration for future inventors. Love this Veritasium! enlightening 💡! ~ A curious mind from Uganda 🇺🇬

Great presentation, thank you!

What actually made me understand what's going on was the visualization of the fields generated by that simulation software. I haven't had the first 3 misconceptions about electricity but having only ever dealt with the lumped model (in literally every single electronics or electromagnetism class) led me astray. We always acted as if there were no fields outside the wires, all charges were inside the lattice, and that the electric field propagated only through the wire. I'm amazed how physically imprecise, although still working, that model is. You've just brought real science back to education and for that I thank you.

So your saying there's not a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow?

Educational content is amazing, educational content that shapes minds in a way that betters everyone’s existence is praise worthy! You can argue all knowledge does that but sometimes a mindset is more powerful than objective truth.

Valeu!

After 3 thumbnails, ok Veritasium I'll see the video

To answer your earlier question regarding merch, I would love a blue Ve shirt. In regards to the latter, while I'd probably love whatever you do in the future, I will say I've been enjoying the what seems to be the trend recently of addressing some of science's uncertainties and misconceptions such as how gravity may or may not work as we tend to believe or particularly mind blowing for me, is it possible to measure the one-way speed of light, and could it differ from half the two-way speed of light. Regardless well done 10 years!

Interesting video! I've been shopping at B&H before there was an internet (trust me, there was a time before the internet. We wrote letters, had dinner together, the phone was on the wall or on a piece of furniture. It was very strange but we did land men on the moon a few times). Their customer service is amazing and their prices are usually pretty good

I had no idea that magnus effect video was you! Crazy. We watched this video in my Computational physics class probably half a decade ago and simulated the effect and generalized the parameters a bit. ‘Twas fun, nice to see you again :)

Thank you for this amazing content. First video I've seen on this channel and instantly subscribed!
