I love it how, when someone’s talking about Soviet operations with high losses in WWII, Americans are writing stuff like “Oh, they were cannon-fodder, they used human waves, their lives weren’t valued at all!”. But the instant someone starts talking about how Americans sent their own against fortified enemy positions with no results and terrifying casualties time and time again, they suddenly say stuff like “Brother, it’s just war, shit happens, casualties are unavoidable (91% casualties in an operation in Italy, lol), Americans were the best!!!” It’s so hypocritical, that it’s funny.

  21. Just one thing your forgot to mention is the brutality of these criminal organizations. My father was for a while a journalistic photographer in Rio before he moved to where we live now. He would often follow police investigators into crime scenes where the criminals executed their rivals, troublesome police and journalists or snitches. They like to torture, my father used to talk about a crime scene where a dude's entie family was burned alive in his car in front of him before they shot him and left for dead, their prefered method, as potraied in Tropa de Elite, is burning people alive in tires, and this was back in 80s nowadays is probably much worse. Funnily enough robbers who rob inside the favela are usually summarily executed by the criminals.

  27. I'm from Russia, and you've told me a lot of things correctly, but not without blunders. Plus, many oligarchs and large companies pay bonuses of 10,000,000 for abrams. For the title of hero of Russia, you get an apartment for free in any region of the country and, in my opinion, 100,000 per month for the rest of your life, and then your children or wife will receive them for the rest of their lives. After the fighting, everyone gets a combat veteran - these are lifelong benefits and small payments every month, plus now the government is trying to train them and place them in the government, including those with disabilities. These are the real patriots of the country. Well, you probably don't understand what 50 rubles is, let alone 1,000 in 1941. But 1 ruble is 1 kg of bread - and there was a huge famine in the country throughout the war...

  38. From a guy from France. I can tell. We dont know what we're teaching them. Even the guys (from my regiment) whose job is basically train people with the weapons (we're calling that A.I.T) dont really know what to teach, for them, the first time they saw a trench in real life was during our "trench training" (where the goal was for each platoon to build a trench). So we have nothing tangible to teach the Ukrainians. And i'm only talking about the trench combat here. Not about CQB, drones, mechanised warfare... The only reason that i see for this training is that France is trying to "steal" the experience of the Ukrainians. And Ukraine is naïve enough to believe that "NATO training" is like a "game changer training"...
