Just finished watching the previous video, excited for this one!

Here is a comment entirely about the technical aspects of this video: The editing is a huge step forward. 13:20 Naming various Peoples as their name is displayed on-screen, it might seem innocuous, but it really anchors the viewer to the entertainment you are providing. The background music's volume going up to fill a void or going down to give room to the narration. Etc... You get my point. That's all top tier attention to detail. This here video is some very, very well made material. Cheers! ✌️

This answers the question of what I'm watching when I get home.

He's doing it again folks. What a madman!

A historical drama series on the Eastern Roman Empire would be brilliant. 👍
20
You’re going so hard with these videos please keep it up. A gen Z Dan Carlin?
20
We all know none of us have girlfriends here
20
The amount of effort this videos must take is insane. Keep it up.

I found you last week and boy oh boy am I glad I did when I did

You don’t say the T at the end of Capet. It’s like Cap-ay
20
Commenting mainly for the algorithm, but I wanted to congratulate on the brilliance of your videos. Keep up like this!

Great video! Ottonian and Holy Roman history is so underrated, I'm glad you are covering them! I always cringe at the reductionism of Voltaire with his "neither Holy, nor Roman, nor an Empire", I'm convinced it has turned thousands of history enthusiasts off from learning about Imperial history.
19
Commenting before watching the video because I assume it’ll be a banger
19
Thank you so much for unraveling the darkest, most complex parts of medieval European history that my (Catholic) high school and college courses failed miserably to unpack or shed proper light on.
19
genius editing and storytelling skills... good job
19
Every single video on your channel is fantastic man. Every time I see a new upload I get excited, like the next Historia Civilis.
18
Dude i LOVE your videos! Youre a fantastic story teller! I'm always totally invested and interested for the whole video! Im mostly commenting for the interaction because you really deserve way more subscriptions than you have!
18
The writing is really good

Imagine the bathroom situation during the 100 days of games.
17
Amazing work. I wish your content received more attention... Smaller creators like you make some of the best documentaries on this platform.
17
New Empire-Builders video just dropped time to vibe. Thank you for the great content.
17
Do you plan on covering Barbarossa too? As a German I find his case quite compelling, especially with the whole aggrandizement of his as historical cornerstone in our country versus his more recent re-evaluation from contemporary scholars. Great video as always though. If it were for me, there should be 2 more zeroes at the end of your subscriber count, especially with your upped editing game thanks to venus. Keep it up!

This is some of the most visually and intellectually stimulating content I've ever enjoyed in my entire life, and it's from a channel with 6k subs. Cable and TV is dead, long live the YouTuber.
17
Ahh omelettes and quality content, truly I am blessed. Keep up the phenomenal work!
16
Great work bro. Thanks for the upload 🫡

I was really enchanted by the initial claim os Slyvester II being a demon follower. Only to find out that is nothing more than witch rumors. And that Slyvester II is a better man than I could ever know. He is a man of knowledge as he excel in being a professor and student and quick to learn new knowledge. Not only you just praise the man, you also help acknowledge the Islamic knowledge which I am not too familiar during that period back then.
16
That's funny you mention "virtus" I just wrote a paper on how that aspect of Roman society helped thier military conquests, specifically pertaining to defeating the Hellenistic Kingdoms and Greece.(obviously outside the tactical aspects)
16
thank god SOMEBODY is feeding my intense obsession with the akkadian empire
16
Your storytelling, and the way you mix the fantastical with the historical in your script is amazing. It makes this feel like I am listening to a modern day minstrel, telling the tales of old. And believe me I mean this in a good way.
16
Damn this channel's good
16
Amazing quality. Again
16
Just wanted to say when it came to siege weapons the Onager was still in use and by the 700s the Mangonel i believe was beginning to be used by the Franks.
15
Welp, time to stay up and watch this amazing video.
15
Babe, wake up, new burgundy lore just drop up
15
Yaaay! Most underrated German in history
15
Awesome work and love the style, hope your channel will blow up, this is excellent. As an old fart I always missed when History Channel was history, now thanks to YT we have better history content than ever before thanks to historians such as this channel.
15
This was a really solid video. I'm ready for the next episode .
15
Mullets kind of make sense as a hairstyle if you look at it from a purely functional perspective. Short in the front to keep hair out of your eyes, long in the back to keep the sun off your neck. For Bronze Age people like the Akkadians, it makes sense.
15
Hands down, pound for pound, the BEST history channel on the Internet!!!!
15
Amazing work you deserve so much more subscribers. Greetings from France 🇨🇵

Wow, I absolutely loved the HRE series and this is even better. I really like the added pictures and maps, it really gives depth to the video and conveys the atmosphere of the time perfectly!
14
@Empire-Builders no way that’s awesome 🙏
14
Hre Prime Germany
14
great as always, thank you.

Great video again. Enjoying this series very much gives me a vibe of reading a book but I guess it’s feel like a kindle version. As someone who only enjoys 19th to 20th centuries European history epically Germany history this series is a breath of fresh air. As for Charlemagne, he is up there with historical Europeans that deserved to be called European or a father of Europe. Can’t wait for more of your videos. Also, Peter Wilson’s HRE A Thousand Years of History is a good source and I’m glad you are referencing. I read it a while back and it gives a way better view of the HRE as this 1000 years political entity that was bound to change and evolve over time. Another good book of his is Iron and Blood which is about German military and the German people since 1500 and be a useful tool for future videos. Also, I don’t know what date you are going to finish this series (probably 1806 or 1815 when a replacement of the HRE came into existence) but I would love to see a video on the HRE’s perspectives after its dissolution. The immediate effects how did Germans react to it, how did German states (especially smaller ones) react to it and how did outside states react to it. Then something on others perspectives of the HRE after the years that followed, how did German Confederation, Imperial Germany, Weimar Germany, Nazi Germany, post-WWII Germanys and modern-day Germany view their form political entity. And of course other European nations that had a historical connection or even the EU which many scholars believe have similarities to the HRE. Anyways that enough from me and my rambling. Sorry for the long comment. Thank you and can’t wait for the next part.

14
Epic feeling listening to this while working out.
14
Great video! It would be great if you could also make something about Byzantium. The Macedonian Dynasty perhaps.
14
I'd bet most subs on this channel are appreciators of both 👍
