  41. Love this new video of yours Brother👍One of the many Unsung Tribes and People's of the West. Don't get me wrong, I love that there is alot of attention given to prominent groups like the Romans and Greeks, but the development of Western civilization owes a significant debt to a diverse array of our lesser known tribes and people of Germanic roots. Germanic peoples such as the Vandals, Burgundians, Franks, and Suebi played such crucial roles in shaping the political and cultural landscape of Europe. I mean, look at the Vandals, known for their seafaring prowess, established a kingdom in North Africa, where they not only controlled key Mediterranean sea routes but also left a lasting impact on North African culture. The Burgundians, after establishing a kingdom in southeastern Gaul, made alot of significant contributions to the legal and social structures of early France. The Franks, under Clovis, laid the foundation for the Merovingian dynasty and the future kingdom of France. Meanwhile, the Suebi, who migrated across the Rhine, established a kingdom in Galicia (modern-day Spain and Portugal), contributing to the region's unique cultural identity. Beyond these, the Lombards established a kingdom in Italy that influenced the development of Italian law and administration. The Ostrogoths(my favourite type of Goth😂) played a key role in preserving Roman institutions during their reign in Italy. Remarkably, the Visigoths, despite the turbulent times, founded new cities in a largely de-urbanized world and shaped Spanish law and culture through the Visigothic Code, which championed the concept of a universal legal code. It really is sad that we often overlook this tribes, through their migrations, conquests, and cultural exchanges which in turn indelibly shaped the legal, political, and social foundations of Western civilization.
