HR is not your friend

Arbitration clauses should be illegal, they outright undermine the justice system

That was helpful Thx š

You have answered my question; There is one penalty assessed per day for each unique violation. Thank you so much for taking the time to create these videos. I appreciate your candor and insights into certain realities of the legal process. I can't thank you enough for the time you've saved me.

Iām glad the hr department at my job isnāt like this.

I was in a bad place the other night. Waking up in the early hours thinking about my employment situation. Thank you so much for this video. It has helped a lot. Here in Ireland, HR departments are very much aligned with US corporate culture.

I worked in HR for 25 years & wld never go back everything is 100% true. There r different rules for every person depending if ur boss likes u. I reported my mgr for harassment & that was a huge mistake even after everything I stated was confidential my mgr then made my life miserable. She tried finding ways of firing me when that didnāt work she would try to get me to quit. I stuck it out until the company was sold. But it took a toll on my health. If u have written evidence, documentation, witnesses ur chances r better. But even with coworkers who see & hear whatās happening they r too scared to come forward for fear of retaliation & termination.

Everything this man is saying is 100% true, I have been burned by several of them. I went to court with one employer and HR and guess what, discovery showed she reviled my personal medical condition right after promising in the most sincere way she would never do that. Even saying she has a close family member with the same illness. Which of coarse she denied saying at all in court. Oh and my documents I physically handed to her to add my file...missing of course. My word of advice, create a digital paper trail even if they don't respond. Be polite but specific confirming your conversation. When talking to HR always bring a co-worker in as a second witness in the event it's her word against yours.

Iām actually part of the 0.2% that actually read Everything!! I saw that Arbitration Clause and was given the option to opt-out. I did.š

My employer threatened to fire me based on false allegations and no documentation to back allegations. No date no statements. Excellent evaluations working for the State of Connecticut for 14 years and never called to the office or warning or letter of direction. I learned quickly that the Union is full of shit and just takes our hard earned money to give us the run around. I consulted with an Attorney and had a good enough case to sue. I let the Union know that I reached out to an attorney and they did a 360 and I was ordered back to work per commissioner and never received an apology. Had I sued, I would have bought a new car and would've paid mortgage off. Thank you for your great informative videos.

Thanks for this. I know itās been several years since you posted this so there have been updates to the whole pregnancy leave process but the baseline is still relevant and this made it all easy to understand.

100, my wife is HR Mgr. the stories she tells. It baffles me that an employee would think another same company employee would put their problems ahead of the what's in the best interest of the company....

Almost 20 years in HR and I hate it! When I first got into HR I told employees to come to HR. Shortly after they were fired! HR protects managers and the company. Deplorableā¦wish I wasnāt so deep in my career!
