Hi! in the spirit of science I'm confirming that the recommendation of this video in particular actually does make sense for me demographically. I'm on the younger end of the millennial generation, occasionally watch video essays on internet culture, and most importantly, when you scrolled through names of content creators you subscribe to who are in your niche, I recognize a LOT of those names as people my wife watches videos from, and I know these algorithms take household-wide data into account.
That being said, I do notice what you're talking about when I look at my recommendations: let's plays, compilations of funny moments from streamers I've never watched before, that kind of thing. And all the videos I've watched before! The only thing I re-watch is workout videos, and even then I'll be pulling them from my personal list of favorites of seeking them out; I'm not going to spur-of-the-moment hop out of my seat and decide to revisit my favorite power yoga flow on youtube because it was on the front page. Putting any already-watched video there is useless.
