  1. At this point, the value of "Better Burger" places like Culvers and Shake Shack really aren't that much worse than McDonalds/Wendys nowadays. If you're already gonna pay upwards of $10/15 even for smaller meals, I may as well go for actual good fast food, or even takeout.

  3. Wow this video was great! Parasocial is such a fascinating sector of relationships to deep dive in this context. I think on some level we all experience them even in real life relationships. It’s easy to put people on a pedestal without realizing. A real work example would be a leader at a church, you see them and interact but because a lot of them have multiple people needing their attention the relationship doesn’t exactly even out for both sides. Or a boss. There is social hierarchy in most situations that let this occur. Some people get really angry at someone they can’t have access to and others are able to further cultivate this into true friendships. It’s just how we are in a situation that determines this dynamic I feel.

I live with several other YouTuber and we watch a LOT of videos, in the past 6 months we all noticed how terrible the recommendation feature was. Search too. Really hope something's done about this. As an avid NFL and fantasy football fan, the sheer /amount/ of gambling ads has been insane, not to mention the questionability of leagues and universities partnering with sportsbooks. This stuff NEEDS to be regulated much more heavily than it currently is.

  25. As a creator, I see comments disappear from my channel all the time. My viewers often mention they have to post a comment 3 different ways to 'allow' it to show up. These comments are normal and aren't filled with spam or vulgarity.... I would love to see some accountability in the YouTube comments section. You could click on a channel and instantly see if they are a TROLL LOL....

  34. Here in Brazil the situation is also dire. During the world cup last year, the commercials during the games were sportsbet sites ONLY, you rarely saw commercials for other stuff. As a person who worked in sportbet/online casino customer support, that makes me really sad. I don't know if this industry is worth the jobs that it generates, you see so many people wasting their lives on this.

  35. I think a lot of this has to do with Millenials (I'm 33) and older Gen Z wanting to go back to what you accurately described as the "older YouTube experience." They saw the content they liked and maybe even grew up on it (in my case, late high school and college) and thought to themselves, "You know what? Why are we doing all this Mr Beast type shit?" and it's working again to just go back to the roots. I couldn't be more happy. Thankfully, YouTube doesn't recommend any Beastification type stuff to me and hasn't for years, but if I log out and see the front page, it's still all over. There's a lot more work to be done.

  37. I would say the reason content like Mr. Beast and other sensationalist style content is popular is because people are inherently shallow and vapid at least the lowest common denominator. I would say the rise of CoreCore is in no small part because the more enlightened, more educated and those who are generally less vapid have had enough. Which makes me happy.

Though, even with a ton of videos out there, there are still some creators, new and old, that don't watch a lot of videos, and I'd imagine if viewing time is limited, videos about how much other creators make is a low viewing priority. There also could be NDAs for direct sponsorships; having a personal zero disclosure policy prevents any accidental undesired disclosures from happening. None of this is criticism of the video, by the way, just some additional stuff I figured some may find interesting. I agree with what you've said here.
