I'm a simple man. I see a new Kusk Bushcraft in my feed, I click a 'thumbs up', crack a beer, and watch. Thank you.

I'm intrigued by the binding method you used for the stem. I'm not familiar with the procedure. Could you link a video explaining it, or perhaps make one? Hope this finds you well Ryley

I respect any outdoorsperson who starts a fire before anything else. That is what a real woodsperson does.
93
You know exactly who you are man.
87
This may have been one of the most dangerous hikes in nature.
87
I watch a lot of the bushcraft/outdoor channels and they are all good for their own reasons. Your videos definitely have the most peaceful, simplistic (in a good way), calming qualities to them. Keep up the good work!
86
Thanks for this. Quite an eye opener. I’d never have thought anyone could survive in those temps without specialist kit. You could save someone’s life here.
86
Did anyone catch the Bird mocking the sound of Him driving stakes into the Ground ? Lol
85
My husband just walked in and asked why I was watching a bearded man cook in the forest 😂 because it’s super relaxing!!
82
Ladies and gentlemen your winner for best pot hanger of the year on YouTube🏆🤣
82
Can’t think of anything more satisfying than watching this on a rainy cold day.

US Military packing hack....Put your untied sleep pad in first, and let it expand so it goes around the inside if your pack with a cavity in the middle. Suddenly it takes up a LOT less room and acts as a flexible internal frame for the pack itself. Great videos. Keep 'em coming.

Amazing video with incredible sound and visuals. The vapor from the breath was proof to just how cold it was. I can't believe he went through the night without a -40 degree bag!. ..Unreal!

Here’s a tip for sewing patches that I use every time… Every couple of inches tie off the thread just like when finishing, but don’t cut it…just keep stitching. This way, if it breaks or is caught and pulled and then comes loose the thread will never work it’s way out more than a couple of inches. Virtually indestructible patches. I use this method with everything I stitch.

Murphy's law says that the smoke from the fire will always flow in the direction you are sitting. No matter how many times you move!

A conifer shelter roof has zero ability to hold on to any warmth, unless it's at least 1/2 a meter thick and covered with snow. The heat just passes through the boughs with minimal resistance. You could have removed the roof material and the thermometer would have shown the exact same reading :) Radiated heat. I have done many nights (no cheating) in those temperatures without shelter, or with a simple tarp. I don't think it's correct to "teach" people to just head to the woods and cut down conifer trees for a simple night in the woods.
76
Fantastic. One of the things I love about your vids is the sound quality. I hear footsteps crunching snow, etc., and it has a calming effect. :)
74
Love the quote "better to be looking at it, than looking for it" very true for sure. 🔥
72
Back in the 1970s while living in Alaska I used to make pretty much the same lean-to tarp camp. Your cooking is much more sophisticated than mine which was usually a spitted grouse and baked bannock on stick. Those were great days. Thanks for a fun video that brought back fond old memories.
72
I like the 2 ridge pole structure, the extra room looks great without creating too big a void to try and warm. Looks like you had a great trip! Thanks for taking us along and I look forward to your next adventure. Good to see the pipe out again too!
71
idk whats better your wilderness skills or your cinematography skills
71
My friend I'm 62. Since I was a kid the world has changed. And I gotta admit in the wrong direction
70
Honestly, you’re living every man’s dream. And getting paid for it. In a way I envy you, in another I’m so so happy for you. Thank YOU for sharing your adventures
70
i like how your videos are so quiet . it’s so relaxing to listen to the fire and experiencing the nice winter forest
69
Winter is the best time to camp. No bugs, no uneccessary sweating, and the perfect excuse to built a fire. Nothing compares to being in a snug warm shelter with the snow falling and the wind howling. It's the best sleep i ever get.
66
Saws are a tremendous waste of energy, feeding long lengths into the fire “native style” is most efficient. Nice work!
65
The more you know the less you carry Mors Kochansky said. This is a perfect example! Great video! So simple and yet full of skills. Thank you! 👍
65
You’ve been an inspiration to me as a woodsman, and in finding peace in self reliance! God blees
64
And zero bugs!
63
There is just something magical about a being in the woods alone especially in the winter months.
62
I agree, personally I am on both sides of this metaphorical fence, my larger knife has a flat spine (it's my chopper, not carver) my smaller knife is rounded for that comfort when I'm making traps, notches and other handy little things my larger knife isn't best suited for doing. Much love, hope you grow to millions soon, you deserve it.
62
Awesome video. Can't wait for part 2! Are you building this on private property or crown land?
61
There is no luxury when it comes to survival in these extreme conditions. Proof enough that an ax(maybe a bick lighter) is valued most when it comes to surviving. Great content! Well done👍
61
Yea !!!! He's back !!!! WONDERFUL !!! Greetings from POLAND !!!
61
Man, you don't realize the void you left on YouTube. I'm so glad you're back to doing what you have a talent for. Keep the videos coming for yourself and your viewers please.
60
I use some of my Dad's old gear. He's not with me either, like your Grandfather. Nice to have a little piece of our loved ones with us out in the back country!
59
Love your videos man. Can't wait for the winter, i hope you have the time to film a snowy camp night. Much respect to you!
59
I have slept in the wilderness in a bag during the summer when I was muuuuuuch younger. Being outdoors makes one appreciate the little things and the silence in the video is awesome. Thank you!
58
I’m enjoying the voiceovers in this log cabin build. It makes me feel like I’m watching and hearing a story take place. Super cool. 👍 can’t wait for part 4
58
Gotta admit - first bushcraft video I've seen in years where smoking is included. Also, I want to have beer in a tree mug now. 😳
58
Who downvotes videos like this? Must be a bunch of city slickers
58
“God Bless and Happy Trails” reminds me of Bob Ross
57
Hello from Oklahoma! Great video! Love the simplicity of it all. Reminds me of when I was a young man. It was hotdogs or spam back then, usually with a can of beans. I'd use an old can with wire around it to boil water. In the morning, pbj we packed in or wait till we got home. Our bicycles were our mode of transport to the river. That was in Nebraska. Here in Oklahoma 40 years later, I would be afraid to try this. By the time you hiked to the river bank you would be covered by chiggers and ticks. Not to mention the god awful heat! Thanks for jarring this old mans memory to some good times! God Bless!
57
I have never seen anyone make a steel and char cloth spark fire out of feather sticks. That is awesome young man!!!!!!!
57
this type of "Pipe smoke and a chat" is really good its good idea to make like one in a month, it seems really interesting to me!
57
Well!....that’s 48yrs of being on this planet having no clue that I NEEDED a pair of wax pants....until tonight!! (begins checking all the labels on his trousers...)
57
Congratulations 🍾🎊🎉 on being a married man!! Good to see you again doing what you enjoy, peaceful, beautiful and fun!!
54
First time I've seen your channel...Outstanding! You make survival with minimal gear look extremely easy. Definitely subscribing. Thanks, man, and please keep 'em coming.
53
Even a simple task becomes complex when you try putting it on film. Great video Kusk
53
I'm glad to see you back with a new video. Your content is always original, entertaining, and adventurous! I hope you're spending some time on the trapline and will take us along for a ride once in a while. Good luck...
