Really appreciate the silence! Damn, Awesome job on that shelter!

This is perfect for quarantine a new wooden pipe and a cold beer. Life is good

My duuuuuude! Good to see you again! I love your videos and your vibes. Keep 'em coming! I wish I could do this kind of stuff in the wilderness alone or with my son, but I'm not in Canada and also we would die, so I live it through you. I think most people that watch bushcraft videos feels the same. So thank you.
52
Looks like you had a blast. I'd try that once, but being from NC, I'd freeze.
51
I have the erge to go camping all of a sudden.😃
51
my type of camping! love it
51
Hey Ryley greetings from Ireland, great to see you back... I think I'm speaking for everyone else on here if I request a 4 hour special 😂😂😂😂
51
This 60 year old lady loves your content! Keep it up and I always look forward to the next one. May God always bless you and keep you safe in His mighty care!
51
Everything tastes so much better when it’s a hand crafted pipe! Thank you so much for showing this tutorial

Very good technique. I'm impressed. I've been sharpening knives for almost 62 years. I've got Norton's, Arkansas stone's. There's nothing like taking a piece of steel and making it razor sharp. Awesome hobby to get into. Great video

It is a pleasure to watch a minimalist approach that is so effective and in balance with nature.
50
I am a square spine guy. However, your discussion and reasons were well presented. Different strokes… Thank you so much for your content!
49
All these videos are pure camping inspiration. Another great one!
49
You can tell how cold it is by the crush of the snow under your feet. There is something about this kind of weather that makes me feel alive. So invigorating... Even now at my age.
49
I like your style. I call it "Vintage Bushcraft".
49
Loved the video. I do love the quiet ones too, and this may be weird from one guy to another, but your voice is soothing as well so even talking videos are quite relaxing.
49
So glad you’re back on YouTube. I love watching your adventures and your cooking. It’s totally enjoyable and relaxing!!
48
Traditional camping at it’s finest
48
When I first started in the world of bushcraft years ago, i went on a bushcraft course. One of the very first things we were taught was making feathersticks with Curls fine enough to light directly with a ember from a bowdrill. It was for the exact same reasons you mention. If everything is soaking and all Else failed, you can always find dry wood.
47
Those sounds made me want to go camping again BADLY 😋
47
I love how camping, or just being in nature in general is now seen as a luxury.
46
You have many skills..... but one of your greatest is your patience. Patience is what allows people to become skilled.
46
That has to be the best meals I've ever seen in the woods!
46
Crazy how that works eh? 🤣
46
Another great video bud!! We are so proud of you!!
45
You are one of the few campers that can cook eggs the way I like them, without all of the scorching that so many do because they are not patient so they cook with too much heat. Also, you cooked the bacon crisp. I want to go camping with you.
45
Real tobacco !! I miss my Grand Father and his pipe.
45
There are a lot of "campers" but very very few true bushcrafters. Fairly new viewer here, thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences with those of us who will never have the opportunity.
45
main thing here is done before dark. that's the deal.
45
Excellent little piece of field first aid. There is also Sphagnum or red peat moss if you can find it, also good for wound dressings.
44
What a great video. I hot tent camped with my teenage son last weekend in 2 degree F weather, and that was with a stove, tent and big fluffy sleeping bags. We decided that was our limit. You, sir, are on another level 😊
44
This is lovely. Immediately, I was hoping you’d make bacon. Then it got dark. I thought “dang he’s not gonna make bacon”. Then you persisted to make bacon.😂 I thought “this is my kinda trip”
44
Brings whole new meaning to "going out to eat." 😁
43
Looks like home. Good on you for taking the challenge and showing it can be done. I would have been laying on all the spruce branches I could find. I've worked in -50 and colder but anything beyond -15 and I become a house cat. God bless.
43
I love how creative he gets with his food
42
Thanks for taking the time to share another adventure. I am so pleased that you talk us through what you are doing step by step and explain your reasoning for the bushcraft techniques. You are way up on my favourites list. Best wishes from London
42
Diner idea? Lean to shelter, meal cooked over camp fire, and scenic wilderness view! Sounds like 5 stars to me
42
The one thing I’m not so fond of on these videos is when you have to pack up and leave 😆 enjoy life my friend. Thanks for having us with you.
42
I enjoy all of your content, but I was kinda missing videos like this one! Great as always, Ryley! Keep it up!
42
Omg he hung his body weight on that frame 💀 the ultimate test
42
This type of skill is very important when you are alone in the wilderness. As there won't be anybody to kiss your boo-boo.
41
Nice to see some good and proper food prepared.
40
I love your videos, they are so calming and always remind me that the unhealthy busyness of the city I live in isn't all there is. I'll be outdoors too between the holidays and nye, and I'm so looking forward to get my mind centered again. Merry Christmas to you!
40
I actually did something just like this when my motorcycle died and left me in a mountain pass near dark. Made shelter just like this, only without an axe I had to use smaller limbs I could break by hand. It didn't get below freezing- but then I had no blanket to pad either! These skills are so essential. Instead of nearly dying of hypothermia I spent a very comfortable night. Thank you Boy Scouts and SAR!
40
You should have no concerns about your videos needing to be different. Yours work and stand out because you come over as very authentic, and that cannot be fabricated by others. Doing what you enjoy most though makes absolute sense.
40
We need more people like this in the US, people who enjoy nature for what it is. Once again an outstanding video the highlight of my day is watching you're videos.
40
“750 mosquitoes liked this video”
39
Wow...I know a long fire can be warm but with only a wool blanket at those temperatures took mental strength to endure! What an experience!
39
And a pair of dry socks...heaven
