I didn't want this one to end my friend. We are so blessed to live in a country with places such as this. Until next time, be well.

A good plan is a flexible plan. BC here...we have two seasons, now - Flood and Fire. Campfire bans are the new normal for us...personally, I have adapted to using a UCO candle lantern as my campfire. ALL thoughts go to people AND animals affected by these wildfires. Great content...looking forward to more. 👍

Good video. I have a pair of boots with synthetic linings that I was wearing in warm/hot weather that began to smell a bit. I dumped a heaping tablespoon of baking soda in each one, shook it around, and dumped out the excess. My logic was that people put an open box of baking soda in their refrigerators to absorb unpleasant odors, so why not try it in my boots? Well, it worked great. The smell went away and it hasn't returned after almost a year of wearing them.

Looks delicious! I recently had a Ruffed Grouse cooked over a camp fire, no better way! There’s as much or more meat on the legs and wings as the breast. Heart, liver and gizzard as well. You took the animals life, you owe it to it not to waste it.

Good to see you’re back!

Appreciated - at this point in my life I am fairly certain I have forgotten more knots than I now actually know how to use !

This was awesome man! Even the detail around the beak is outstanding.

Welcome back and not a minute too soon. I absolutely love your adventures and you just have that calming voice which resonates peace. You offer the best examples of bushcraft out of all of the channels I subscribe to. I can’t wait for part 2 and thanks for taking us along with you. Best wishes from London.

Finally , a great bushcraft video to watch ( food , shelter , peaceful area ) . Welcome back and Merry Christmas to you and your family

Awesome, I really look forward to watching it. I'm also in Alberta, I'm super envious you know someone with private land like this -_- I figured you were somewhere near Nordegg, although there'd probably be more snow there. Either way, great cabin and great video.

Awesome video!! Raised in rural Minnesota, always carrying survival gear in my vehicles! It drives my family crazy!😂 I don't care, it's saved us many times over the years!!

My favorite cooking show on YouTube!
23
I would love to hear you narrate some books or novels. You have an intriguing yet calming tone :)
23
I am SUPER impressed with that. That is WAY simpler then what I was doing.
23
Maybe it's the cold 🤔

Life without stress

That was a great method. Never seen it done like that, very clever. Well done.

Adventures of a young Ron Swanson

I made a pair of my own waxed cotton pants, based off of your original video. I used bison hide for my knee patches. I have found them to be extraordinary bush pants! I made a tin coat as well. I learn much from you! Thanks for the great video. 😊

If everyone would act in and with nature as respectful as you the world would be a much better place. Thanks for sharing and greetings from Germany.

Another excellent video, good sir. I remember back in the day when you were silent in all your vids, but I'm so glad you decided to start talking to the audience because you've got a truly relaxing & soothing voice that suits these adventures perfectly. Oh, and I loved the part where you talked about how using your grandfather's tools made you feel like he was there with you. That was super cool and respectful. God bless, dude.
23
Ok! Steak @ 21:40... Really dude! I wanna move out into the woods now!!! -100

Such a good guy so great to see him back out God bless🙏🏾

The cabin is coming along well I love that auger you have. Thanks for sharing

I always will remember my wool blanket from Basic Training or that the Army gave me... It seems sooo primitive back from say WWII or whatever I have that same one you have and I think it was super cheap but NOTHING I can find will ever replace it... Sure it's not the most soft blanket in the world but it is the warmest thing I've ever used.

Love the comments in the upper left. Informative, timely and non-obtrusive. I hope you consider keeping that format.
22
this is amazing to watch, need more people like you in the world in my opinion
22
While I'm all for quiet in my day to day, I am enjoying the commentary. I like that if I have to look away I can hear what you're doing.

Hi Ryley, when I first saw the opening shots of the video, my thoughts were '' now thats a BIG dram my lad'' Until I found out that your 'glass' was only partially hollowed out ; ) Nice little project. A dram, a pipe and the sounds of nature, simple things that bring great joy. Love the Rough Rider pocketknife!

Great camp out Riley, man, its always unsettling when any unknown critter is crunching around in the night, finding out it was a wolf would have been pretty intense. Breakfast looked fantastic. Love simple meals like this. Glad to see you're back out at it!
21
The video is great, I like the wool pants idea as well as the basic sewing skills. Please continue with the videos.

My favourite channel for doing this nature "sleepovers" posted. ☺Of course there are many and also amazing creators of this stuff, but I personally like your type. Keep it going! :)

When camping is not just about making shelter, making fire, gathering woods, etc.. but also cooking with style! Love watching your video... keep it up! New subscriber here! 😍

Life can be busy and complicated, but mostly because we make it that way. Your videos are a perfect example of deviation from the norm, something we should all do more often. I sure miss the days when I went out West camping with my family, time to get back out there! Thanks for the great video Ryley! LAL

Thank you for showing that it is possible to survive if you ever found yourself in such a situation. This could save lives. Never give up even if the situation looks bleak.

Prettiest feathersticks I've ever seen. Takes a steady hand and patience. Love the old school camp. Well done, from an old woodsman. (And dang, did that breakfast make me hungry... perfect.)
