  43. I set on a Jr College advisory board. A two year welding certificate cost less than $4,000. A one year certificate is $1,700. Starting wages are $17 to $24. Big whoo you say. Four years later wages are $28 to $45 with graduates who decide to go self employed $120 to $150,000 As welders. There is a company who pays their workers tuition and books. Plus for evening classes they pay them 3 hours overtime to attend class. Three years ago there were 60 slots open in the fall semester. All were full. Only 11 students had student aid. The rest paid out of their pockets. What do you think these graduates future is? A salable skill, no debt, and working in a industry that is demanding these workers. No " you want fries with that" or " one pump or two?"
