Great to see the history lads in the digital flesh. An excellent series. It would great to see something of the historical journey from Italian Futurism and the of Symbolist Movement to Fascism and Nazism.

I recently discovered you guys. Your presentations are quite enjoyable!

It's truly impossible to call who does the better impressions: Dominic or Tom. Dominic might have the authenticity, but Tom has the heart.

This is a perfect way for a layman to learn history. Drama, with a good dose of humour, yet told by qualified historians passionate about the subject and who won't steer you wrong.

Charlemagne: The Father of Europe

Have really enjoyed this series! Paul Freedman of Yale has an excellent series on the period 284 to 1000 that is a fine compliment to the events here discussed for anyone looking to deepen their knowledge.

So much better than Game of thrones π

After the series on the causes of WW1 and WW2 I feared we'd heard the last of Tom's excellent German accent. Very pleased its back.

When Dominic looks at the camera with a mischevious smile in the intro, I cannot help but snicker like a child.

Dominic and Tom, I've read the Hornblower books and also the Patrick O'Brien books and I am not satisfied. Now your wonderful podcasts. I took notice of your reference to NAM Roger's book on the Royal Navy, 1649-1815, all 1000 pages of it. A little reading over Christmas. My daughter moved to London in 2023. She tells me she is moving to an apartment near the Royal Dockyard at Woolwich. She is also a student of history and is buying a print of Turner's Fighting Temeraire to hang on the wall. I thought you might like to know.

I have looked for this for like 2 hours!! Lolol

Love Dominic's growling of appreciation and sometimes, as in the case of Sir Richard Waller's coat of arms, jealousy.
11
I am spellbound. I know the events for the most part, but all the details and motives bring this to life π€©
11

Tom and Dominic bring joy to what is otherwise ridiculous tragedy.
