I’ve been doing service washes at Porsche for almost 7 years now so not even close to a detail but this video explains what’s going on when your doing the work. Awesome informative video almost like you should of been a teacher. I never did wet sanding since I never knew what all I’d be getting into. I’ve compounded my black car and had a hell time getting haze out lol. Thanks for explaining everything

  13. Hey Larry! On historical restoration and preservation I use D2 biological solution, it will not attack the surface, it's been used on the white house, the Alamo etc, so it's safe on any type of masonry, vinyl sidings, wood and many more. It removes everything like lichens, moss,air pollutants, soot. No need to do much, it only need to be applied with water and left to work. Now, I don't know about paint on cars or planes. But I think it would be worth looking into it. If it does the job without stripping any paint away, you would have a real good tool when doing rescue jobs like this!

  16. I've been an F&I manager for 20 years in the Northeast. Larry is right about the coatings offered in the Dealership. Most prep departments just wing it with no preparation for the application whatsoever and just want it out of the bay ASAP. He's also right about the tire & wheel coverage especially on high line stuff. The most utilized would be the service contract (extended warranty) we have 2 claims in the shop right now totaling 15 grand. Obviously there's variables but stick with those 2 and do your coatings at a professional shop. These cars come straight fun the factory with plenty of defects. No prep & straight to the professionals for paint correction and coatings.

  26. Hey mate, suggestion with the hot water thing, a kettle style called a Swan neck might be the way to go. I use them as a barista since they're more controlled, but the spout is also connected from the bottom

  27. Having worked with carbon fiber for 12 years, I can say, the polish you got out of that panel is phenomenal. Often, I've had to polish material samples for testing, and only a handful of times have I gotten that 3d effect. Awesome!
