  6. The ONS survey does not involve workers entering respondent's homes. The tabloid press would have a field day if the could claim that The Gov was spreading Covid via their research. Strict social distancing is maintained throughout the Covid Infection Survey protocols, with the suvrvey worker remaining outside & @ 2 metres, wearing a mask and gloves. Great work as ever Tim.....

  9. I’m sharing this episode with every woman I know! What also needs to be included in the conversation is how in the US, HRT treatment is cost-prohibitive to many women because it is not covered by insurance, therefore, not accessible if you’re not willing to pay out of pocket! Thank you for spreading education into the world! ❤

  15. Looks yummy. I make my own milk kefir and have it every day as a desert. I also grow my own veg and ferment it; I currently have fermented savoy cabbage and Brussels Sprouts on the go which grows over winter here in the UK. I’ve been eating these fermented foods daily for about 3 years now and I think it was the key to reverse my severe bile acid malabsorption issues (I used to need a binder every day for years but haven’t needed a single binder in years now).

  16. Hi to everyone, from South Dakota! I really appreciate the hard work everyone at ZOE is doing to keep all of us informed and updated. Also wish our public health leadership teams were making better use of your study, or that we had something like your study running in the Stares. Very frustrating to walk into my doctor's office and still see them checking for the common symptoms from the start of the pandemic, knowing that it probably means they missing cases unless their already in need of treatment.

We've been with Zoe since the beginning and have no intention of stopping reporting. As well as Covid, the wider health of the UK is so important and Zoe is playing an important part in that.   23. I'd like to put a good word in for the Zoe Nutrition program. I'm on about week 10 and enjoying how it has transformed my life. I'm eating much better and rarely get hungry. I journal everything that I eat which might be cumbersome for some people. One benefit so far is that my weight has decreased by 17 pounds. Weight loss was not my goal initially but it's been nice not having to squeeze into my clothes.

  24. Thanks Tim - helpful and informative as ever. Re ideas for studies of menopause and diet, I'm 14 years post menopause and have found that keeping starchy foods to a minimum has helped me lose weight and keep it off in the last 10 years (I lost 50 lb over a couple of years). I don't have the archetypal apple figure that many post-menopausal women are plagued by, and I feel that is because I restrict sugar and starchy foods, eating a good Mediterranean diet with meat, fish, legumes, good fats and (yes!) over 30 different types of plants in a week (I counted specially!) I cook from scratch every day and almost never eat fast food or pre-prepared meals. I've often wondered if this could work for other menopausal and post-menopausal women. I'm not on HRT either.

  25. As a farmer, the key point for me about Zoe is that it empowers consumers with real & accurate knowledge about their individual health & nutrition. This translates into them making informed choices at the point of purchase. If enough people do this, it will change the choice and composition of food available in shops. This in turn will drive change right back through the food chain and eventually to the farmer where the process of producing healthy food starts

  27. Thank you for the continued updates. I’m looking forward to taking part on the Zoe nutrition study. For many years I ate a terrible diet. It’s only after 3 gut operations that I made a huge effort to change my diet by cutting out processed junk and replacing it with lots of fresh food; especially vegetables, nuts, oily fish and fermented foods. Helped my mental as well as my physical health!

  28. Hi Tim and team. Thanks for this special report, it's great that you have the responsiveness and flexibility to do this when not planned in. I can vouch for new wave, and high transmissibility....five of our family have it, caused by a cascade effect from one family member catching it, giving it to another, that person in contact another who caught it etc. It is interesting to me that I didn't think I had it until I tested positive, but there were with all of us, some early signs (which didn't seem like classic symptoms) that are indicative of its onset, and it's this onset and progression that I hadn't realised about, I was expecting the full symptoms from the get go. It started off Day 1 with feeling a bit light headed and not with it. Then it goes into tiredness as well about a day later, then a strange tickling sensation at back of nose and a slight sore throat. These I can get at any time, thought not symptoms of COVID as not extreme, and I tested negative Day 2 same. On day 3, bang. The full symptoms, fever, headache, sore throat, tight chest, fatigue. Tested positive. This followed day 4 & 5 by full on sneezing, coughing, runny nose, headache still continues, and tiredness. Day 6, things starting to dry out.....cough drier etc. Symptoms start to ease. We all have a different immune response but we five all followed the same trajectory, different degrees of severity. All have been vaccinated.

  32. I’ve read that studies on special forces who are immersed in cold water as part of their training are found to have elevated dopamine for a few hours after. Anecdotally my daughter gets anxiety sometimes and when she was prepping for her last exams she was hell to live with.😊. She’s a brilliant swimmer so I signed her up for a local pool and dropped her off each day before dinner. She’d come out civilised and charged up for another three hours study. Even today with small toddlers and plenty of stress, swimming is her go to form of meditation, and she uses local rivers and beaches even in winter.

  36. Thank goodness for Zoe, had a positive PCR result yesterday after daily negative LFTs with a 'cold'. I was able to order the PCR citing the Zoe app, withoutt having any of the 'official' symptoms.

  39. I'm 65 and my health has massively improved after implementing the principles I've learned through ZOE podcasts. I have a fine motor tremor that was getting much worse; the way I've changed my diet and implemented life style change has helped me recerve the rather alarming fine motor tremor, improve, energy, sleep and general health. I feel better than I have in decades. Big thank you.

  40. Great advise! Since introducing good fats I’ve lowered mine! Low carb is fantastic for great health and weight loss along with rainbow vegetables nuts and seeds and moderate exercise :) stay away from low fat! One year on and perfect blood results x you are spot on x thank you great channel x lulu

  41. It’s encouraging to see the results of the randomised trial. I’ve been a Zoe member and supporter for a couple of years and felt this was Zoe’s Achilles heel in that all the “evidence” was how people felt about doing Zoe… this is important but alongside the trial you’ve done is more convincing. I think in the long term if you are going to keep members like me in board, then the App should develop into a monitoring device for all health measures, including exercise and sleep. I’ve got to the stage where I don’t really need to log my food to know whether it’s good or bad for me
