  3. I came in the UK 11 years ago. Everything, and I mean absolutely everything is much worse now: roads, buildings, parks, shops, public safety, prices, transport, restaurants, hotels, junkies on the streets, chavs, lazy people on benefits etc. Everything is not maintained, crumbling, rusty and damaged.

  4.  @lifestylebypete  I moved to UAE in 2007. It’s not perfect but i have never experienced any crime. I don’t lock the door of my apartment or my car. I’ve got a nice car but nobody would ever scratch it. If my wife wants to walk home at 2am she is perfectly safe. Plus the sun shines almost every day and if you are prepared to work hard you can earn good money. I’m not especially clever at all but there hasn’t been one week in the last 5 years I have earnt less than a thousand pounds a week and there is no tax. It’s not surprising so many people are looking to come here. Next stop we will move to Asia. I’m sad to see what’s happening where you are - I lived my first 38 years there.

I was an international student in Uk for both my bachelor and my masters and since July 2022 there was a sharp increase of groceries and then everything else started going downhill like increase of crime, increase of dropout students especially international students which contribute to Uk economy. I had to change my plans of taking graduate visa because I knew it won’t be worth it as it will just end up paying bills and nothing to show for at the end. I love Uk before the extreme rise of cost of living crisis. Good luck folks

  18. I agree with what you said, I was born and grew up in the UK, I am so use to this country. I'm surprised if anything good happens or even if the weather is nice, but I put my trust in Jesus he will never let me down, I have a hope because heaven will be my home where the street are paved with gold, and sun will shine always, there will be sickness no crying only laugher, and there will be no death. The bible says in 1st Corinthians 15 verse 19, If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of men most miserable.🙏🙏🙏

The drive behind these adverse changes is supranational organisations, their documents/stated objectives for decades, and ultimately their communist ideologies to undermine everything that has been good in the west in society. Ultimately people need to turn back to God. Repent their sins and they can then resist evil.

  25. I regret leaving Ireland to move to the UK It’s not perfect but not as bad I find the work culture more relaxed in Ireland and your colleagues are up for a pint to drink after work The cost of living here is ridiculous The wages are so low but everything is expensive

I think your relaxed YouTube podcast style is quite a nice way to unwind around bed time 😊 Jokes aside, I agree that avoiding activities which spike adrenaline close to bed time is very important. A serious or intriguing tv show like Yellowstone is impossible for me to watch before bed. On the other hand if I watch something light hearted like a comedy that I’ve watched before, then for some reason it really relaxes me and can help me feel sleepy and fall asleep.

Rental increases are all tax btw: 2nd homes tax went up, revenue tax on rental income went up massively due to the way tax now applied to revenue and not profit, interest relief was abolished, capital gains tax went up, and costs for any maintenance went up with inflation (maintenance tax relief was also abolished). Additionally they introduced EPC requirements which are expensive (think of this as extra tax on the rental bill), and rent reforms which attempt to place the burden of risk (monetised) onto the landlord. Rental yields have actually reduced over the last 5 years from 8% ROI to around 5.5% ROI.

  31. Cant prove it but think the algorithms are comparing & price fixing for the maximum prices. Car running costs have done the same, & nothing has changed for that extra payment. Some of these energy companies have ramped up a lot, last years car insurance was £370, & get the renewal quote soon. Its all the bills & can take time to switch or get deals.

  35. Unlucky mate, I feel crushed that the UK has become like this. Hard working (tax paying) people like yourself are what the country needs, yet all the Government are doing is discouraging people like you heavily and welcoming absolute scum bags with hand outs etc. and fully allowing disgusting cultures to operate illegal practices (child molesting, gang violence, theft) to carry on pretty much unchecked. I'm considering learning Polish and moving there they seem like the one of the only countries in Europe in control and the mental strength to stay in control of their country.

On my street in Wimbledon,London, seven of my neighbours have left because of FEAR,they ran businesses and employed people who had homes that could pay a mortgage. The new owners,not so much. Reality,come to the UK earn and save and leave before the currency collapses.

  37. Well Pete...inflation will go up on avarage of 10% per year for next 5 years... so your cost will double. And then if the countries debt situation gets worse the pound could fall further and cost of imports would go up so your costs will go up even more. We're all stuck in this. Good luck

Starsza mi co jakis czas pisze zebym nawet nie marnowal czasu na jakies zjazdy do polski bo jest gorzej niz 20 lat temu. Ale ja tu mam w chuj dobrze place 525 za 2 bed i osobny garaz w mega okolicy. Nottingham bez zmian wszystko tanio bo wszwedzie placa minimum ale przez to nie rusza sie nic. Przez 15 lat placilem 425 tylko podniousl o 100f rent po zmienie oprecentowan. Wode place stala a nie licznik kurwa licznik w uk na wode to tragedia.

  50. You can book half term flights for normal prices as long as you book early. 6 months ahead. Prices spike because of demand. Everyone booking same week. What you describe is living on a very low salary - being poor IMHO. I am British and moved to live/work in the US. Prices in US, rent and groceries are way higher than the UK (more than 2x), plus private healthcare to pay every month. Car insurance in US is 2-3x UK costs. Moved back to UK temporarily and things seem cheap to me, vs US. I know it sounds like a cliche but work on diversifying your income. Get side hussles and invest in assets not cash in the bank. GBP is dropping like a stone so turn it into hard assets to protect against inflation. Good luck man.
