EVERYTHING'S gone up. I have noticed it in the last 2 years and it's gradually more and more. The govt are squeezing us.

@ SEA. asia for the lower cost of living. just bounce around malyasia, vietnam and thailand.

I really love your channel very honest refreshing and very clear. Breaks my heart when you say you’re leaving the UK because I think all you need to do is maybe just move a lot more north of the UK to get those cheaper rents and cheaper costs that being said, I do understand how you feel because if all the cost are going up all the time then why would one stay in the UK

@ It’s a LOT WORSE than we’re being told Pete. Poland has the right idea along with the other Visegrad countries. Even Russia are treating their own people better generally. The Ukraine - Russia war is the fault of the West. Russia is not the enemy and never was.
3
Hey Pete, FYI, your MOT has expired a few days ago.
3
It's not about your English it's about your content and being understood. 🎉
3
Where are you from originally? I ask because I see a lot of my genes in you and I never knew my father. Legit! :)
3
i left to poland last month ....uk is going down toilet ....before was good but now !!!!! NO MONEY NO SUN NO SAFETY ......JUST NOTHING HERE TO STAY
3
As one who had 1930 Depression relatives: this is dawn of a new one :(
3
you'd have to see the rental prices in London zones 1-3
3
May I ask around what age are you?
3
If you do move elsewhere. Think about your pension. And your kid. Maybe its worth getting him decent education. As you said if you do move elsewhere do it with a straight head. think everything throught. Between guys.... How is Ireland?

Diversity is our strength

Really enjoy your video mate. It's not just you, it's really hit me recently how sh** the UK has got. The CoL is appaling, healthcare is free but you can't actually access what you need in time and salaries are pretty poor. Anyone from Switzerland here? I'm looking at moving once I got my doctorate!
3
Take finasteride or dutasteride, please. Save your hair.

The crisis is global and the UK is not the worst at all. You don't know where it is really worst...
3
Our country has fallen. There is no future here.
3
They are a third world country. That's what they wanted.
3
@lifestylebypete even worse
3
UK is pretty cold these days. Rain, Rain,Rain. Didn’t used to be so bad.
3
Criminality always follows poverty.

Trust me loads of us Londoners are struggling and disillusioned too.

14:45 I think many people are in this frustrating position. Recently I heard that estate agents are now having bidding wars with rental properties which I find totally insane. Ultimately this is because there is a housing crisis in this country at the moment, a supply and demand issue. I believe housing has become a commodity and is being treated like it. We’re in this catch 22 situation. You need a roof over your head at the end of the day and someone going to make you pay for it. But it’s unaffordable. You want to improve your situation but you can’t because you’re being priced out. But, there is someone somewhere paying it, and as long as there’s someone paying, there is someone putting the price up.

@elaineleslie3006 which country?

Fight for the Russians? Seriously?

You You are doing what the liberal elite can never do. That is to say the truth, for they are the ones who caused it.

Awesome channel on Youtube, I think a video or Vblog of you wondering around some of these locations like bedford. Leicester ,

The UK is a rentier society parasitizing of the backs of the workers. That Thatcher creature began the rot.
3
rentier? You make the money by having assets and renting them out to desperate people at exorbitant rates.
3
Plus taxing the workers not the filthy rich!
3
Sleep deprivation is a method of torture.

If you step back from the chaos - what do you see? Victims. Victims of being brought up with violence, victims of poverty - victims of society - what is there for young people to escape from the awful drudgery and violence? Football, sport - thats about it. Society does not like you to be creative, it likes people to go to work, keep their head down - when victimised just take it on the chin and carry on - bosses steal, you are treated very badly at work - everywhere there is pressure. What society wants you to do is to go into debt buying things you dont need with money you dont have - it much prefers that you support a landlord instead of buying a house so flashy cars, big hifis - you are controllable if in debt. This is the uk. I fell out - i am far away and happy.
3
where are you from again lmfao....
3
I don't live in the UK & the grass is not greener elsewhere - welcome to Earth ruined by ALL OF US.

There are some rough spots in the UK but there always were and it was far rougher in the 30's. Policemen in Wigan had to walk through Irish areas in 12's as the irish residents would run out to attack them. There are many many really nice places now, with mostly polite people often saying hello in the street with very low crime rates. However, affordability is tough for people on the basic level wages £18k-£25 and quite tough up to £35k. But it is privatised overpriced utilities. Trains, buses, gas, electricity and water, also spiralling rents, which are crazy. Food prices are not the problem. A whole chicken can be bought for £4, or 1/3 hour at around minimum wage, which is probably the cheapest in history. But the pollution costs from dealing with millions of chickens in the Wye valley polluting the rivers are not paid by the chicken eaters

Same story elsewhere. Im a south African expat living in NZ. Same expensive cost of living. Crime increasing here. Back in SA same horrific murder rate etc. our politicians and economists are fucking up. Too high taxes, too high immigration, monopolist grocery store chains etc. Good luck to all
3
Hmm how did you not achieve more in 12-13 years in the land of milk and honey 😬🙄 Joke aside, more people should know about the reality but also it’s not better back in Eastern Europe either. The weather might be but food prices are through the roof there too. JS.
3
Pete, cost of living here is rising up crazily year by year. Corporate greed is squeezing everyone on this island
3
😂😂😂. Life is awful for a lot of people in the UK. There's time for gratitude later. We are heading into a large recession or depression then a CBDC. Nothing to look forward to there.
3
I went to callealla Spain in august and that was heading to the same route. But Pete at least they have beautiful weather to forget 😭
3
The problem, though, is low birthrate among the native English- not just in the UK but all of Western nations. Africa, however, is on track to reach four billion by the end of this century. My prediction is 10s, if not hundreds of millions of Sub-Saharan Africans will benefit immigrating to the developed world, like the UK. It's needed to balance a changing demographic.

Watched your video and you’re one hundred per cent right. My wife’s polish and we have a house in Lodz which is in the woods. It’s only just been completed but we’re not in the position to retire yet unfortunately. Just want to leave this shit hole country. Enjoy your videos. Take care 👍🙏
3
Are you Polish?

Learning and mastering English as your language, reading Shakespeare and respecting the culture is the first step for success!!!
3
The gov’t is fast to make sure you pay everything you need to but doesn’t tax the rich who use the place as a playground and there should be tax on all UK income from assets even for non-residents.
3
I have been traveling to the UK and London monthly for work for over a decade. I used to love my trips to the UK, it was a dream, friendly people, beautiful cities etc. Now I don't want to go back, I don't feel safe, I cannot believe the trash and the filth. The disrespect to the Jewish people all over the streets of London. I cannot believe all you lovely Brits are putting up with this! Americans love Britain but we are now shocked at what you are putting up with and living amongst.
3
Buddy, the 50,000 stabbings are the ONLY REPORTED ones. Many will go without report or be solved within groups/gangs. So I would imagine it is at least double that. What country do you come from mate?
3
The citizen who sees his society's democratic clothes being worn out and does not cry it out, is not a patriot, but a traitor.
