  3. As a Dyslexic raised in the US then moved to Australia and switched to the metric system. Had I learned metic in school I would have done better in certain areas. The simplicity of the metric system just makes sense. I think the US clinging on to the imperial system is also part of the American Ego that everything done there is better than everywhere else. I know that is going to get some people to be a little stand-offish but living outside of the US the world does see the US differently than those in the US think we do. It was a real culture shock once I moved.

  4. Traveling in the Eu is extremely pleasant. You don't need a passport, just your driver's license or ID card. I once drove from Germany to Spain by car and was stopped only once. The policeman looked at my identity card, looked at me and said :'' Oh a German, have fun on your vacation''. This little plastic card really opens every door here. The same counts for airports. 27 countries that you can just travel to without visas or specific permits. Sometimes it is almost too good to be true.

  11. Hi Ian, a dutchie here. If tou look back at the video, watch the traffic light. Almost all turn green when the ambulance comes close. This is because we have a lot of smart traffic lights that detect emergency vehicles and turn green as soon as possible. This makes it easier for traffic to make space.

Way more than most of us are aware of, and certainly more than some ignorant nationalists want to tell us. Different but still familiar. It’s a shame Dental isn’t covered more by the Australian system, and as others mentioned mental health care has a fair way to go, but from experience my father was diagnosed with cancer, had a couple of operations to try and correct it, then had extensive care and saw out his final couple of weeks in hospital, and it didn’t cost my poor mother a damn cent thankfully. It’s not a perfect system, but by hell I will defend it forever.

They are outfitted with some full scale MICU beds, a few intermediate care beds and some seats for the minimally injured. We even have some busses here which are used for normal bus lines but can be called into action by the regional command center. They then get rid of the regular passengers ASAP and go code 3.
