  5. "Children are the treasure of the world." - a quote by one of the wisest recorded humans to live. Imho, the problem is nuclear family and failure of work-life balance in West (and now Japan). Extended family and Local Community for child-rearing sharing is best. The current model of society supports: 1. Breakdown of marriage 2. Avarice over Love 3. Lack of Wisdom in human life cycle sequence and progression eg Children are fulfilling in the RIGHT CONDITIONS for Man and Woman in a strong pair-bond. 4. Traditionally pair-bond was ritualized and thus contained deeper significance compared to secular version today. 5. Family is the Business of succeeding in raising healthy, happy children eventually into competent well-balanced adults with strong values. This is missing in modern Western Societies and Japan not. The result: Divorce, Loveless Marriage and dysfunctional effect on children.

  7. Very informative video, thanks by the way Papa-katsu sound so funny and appropriate to me as an Italian because the word Papa sound similar to papà which means "daddy" and "katsu" is very similar to the Italian word for dXXk 😆😆😆

  9. I'll have to agree with 4:35 100%. When I went to Japan, the majority of women looked the same for those same reasons. There is no individualism. There were a very few really beautiful, gorgeous women out there that had a totally different style than the majority of women. That however was extremely rare and very far few in between. So I don't think I'll be able to find the right woman for me in Japan if I'd to live there. It will be next to impossible.

  11. Its the same with Canada, in school they teach us Canadians were these heroes during the war and did so much to help end it. They didnt tell us how AWFUL are army was and how many sneak attacks during truces they did.

  20. Great vlog episode! Being white who grew up in Japan is both a problem and an opportunity! If they’re bilingual and fluent in both languages (Nihonggo and English), it will be a huge advantage for them. TBH, they have more good chances than handicaps.

  23. Regardless of the gender of the caregiver or the circumstances under which they became a single parent, being a single parent is a really hard process. However, Nobita has once again highlighted one of the "hidden" aspects of Japanese society - one that I feel ties in with other issues he has explored, such as rigid gender roles, toxic work culture, and the "shame culture" that causes those who need support to not seek assistance. Each country will have its own particular cultural and social manifestations of these issues - but thank you once again. Nobita, for exploring a subject that deserves to be talked about more.

  24. let me just say as an american man, I find Japanese women to be some of the most beautiful women in the world. and a big reason is because of their natural beauty. they have very good features that make for natural beauty. the west has a problem with this as well. women over here get insulted when you tell them they look good without makeup. almost as if theyve been conditioned to believe they cant have natural beauty without it.

  26. Really informative video. Some great points, especially the parts on job hopping, smoking and sarcasm. I don’t think people don’t have an interest in improving the country. I think people prefer not to look out of place by showing their true opinion. I think the country is changing on many of these topics as newer generations now have the ability to compare to other countries via the internet.

I am not Japanese but I used to constantly wear makeup when I could become it was a huge confidence booster for me and I was good at it and was proud I mastered this skill myself.i remember watching an anime recently explained that make up is warpaint for women and gives Worman huge confidence which used especially for work if was having a bad week because if I cry I ruin that makeup so it helped me avoid being upset at work however a year ago I started to have strong allergies to makeup especially around my eyes and made my eyes puffy watering and irritated. So I stopped for a couple of months to reset I wear makeup now again but not as extreme as I used to.

In my experience, it was difficult to get an apartment if you are a foreigner -- which can be assumed as racism -- but later on, I learned that they are afraid to deal with foreigners as they don't speak English. When I told them I could speak Japanese, they eventually accepted me as a tenant. It is mendokusai for a foreigner to start her/his life in Japan with such an attitude from the Japanese side.

As a person who have japanese mother and arab-indonesian father. i feel that feeling. because of high cost of living and education in japan. my family decided to live and rise me in indonesia. and in indonesia, they also don't allow you to have dual nationalities so i stich to indonesian one.   45. Thank you for bringing up this topic. I’m on the Austin spectrum! I have autism! I know it’s not easy. I used to feel very different from everyone else and people have told me I’m different. But as I got older I’ve met people who are crazy and just insane. I have to stay away from them.

  46. Thanks for this video, Nobita. It's great the Christian organisations are trying to help struggling youth, but I don't like that it's usually tied in with belief in God. I remember as a child I was told that I could no longer attend the kids activity club organised by the church if I didn't also attend Sunday prayer, so I dropped out, but honestly glad I did. I can appreciate that having a belief that someone is always watching, loving and protecting you can help with mental health, but it seems like a mental crutch. What is good though, is that Christians get together with other Christians and end up finding friends and community, but how is that different to just being in a hobby community where you find friends without having to believe in something there is literally zero evidence of? An advantage of a regular hobby group is that you don't seem like a cult to others, but I guess the disadvantage is the lack of tax exempt status.

  48. My travels to Japan before covid, it was not hard to see loneliness in the Japanese communities. Those who know the feeling well, will agree that it is very possible to be lonely in a crowd. Seeing this first hand, I returned home and immediately begin to formulate possible ways to help deal with such a problem. Just as my travels became more frequent and my friends in Japan were behind me concerning such endeavors, global lockdown occurred and I haven't been able to be back since. I'm sure what I've come up with will work, it will require support, which is hard to see happening as very little has changed at the moment.

  50. In Japan even the make up which looks natural, nude style, is actually heavy make up which took nearly an hour to get such result. When I am in the metro I like spending the time trying to figure out how would the face of the girl in front of me would look like without make up for that's rare to see someone looking like her real face.
