I think the owner of the speaker handled the situation elegantly. I promise Carol and her group of friends were having more fun than this guy. Have to agree with others on this, you were not being a jerk, the group you were with had been there long before him, if you're out in the wilderness and you want to be alone then don't camp near a big group and expect the group to bend to your needs. You and the others in the group did the right thing. BTW, happy 70th!

  4. We are a 6 figure income couple and had very little saved and not much cash lying around the preverbal". '...don't have $500 for an emergency" that was us. The big thing was debt all kinds of it, cars mortgage (although our home isn't a high price one), student loans for our kids, and of course credit cards. One day we just got sick of being broke and went total scorched earth and became frugal overnight. Paid it all off, it took almost 5 years but now we have no debt and this year our savings rate is 50% on basically the same income that had us perpetually broke. So for us it is mainly staying out of debt and watching our spending, at first it was a real effort to save in our HISA and 401Ks but now it's actually fun watching our money grow. No car or vacation or neighborhood is worth being broke or financially unstable.

I’m really appreciating my comfortable bed, my spacious bathroom, my beautiful kitchen, looking out the window, hearing the birds, opening my big refrigerator and cooking myself a delicious breakfast. Going for a walk around the block. Coming back and putting my feet up to watch a show on my large screen tv while I wait for load of laundry to be done. I’ll do some van life but will definitely keep my apartment. We can do both. Thank you Gloria 😘

  15. This lady is awesome and her set up is just what I imagine I will be doing very soon. I am 79 and will be 80 in a few months. The less there is to deal with the happier I know I will be. She is certainly admirable for her creativeness here. I wish I had done this 5 yrs ago when my partner passed away... could have saved a lot of $$ and had more fun than just staying in a house that in a few months I will not be able to afford. Thinking that I will definitely have a potty set-up of some kind .

  16. This problem is not only in the USA, it is world wide. No one cares! The train is rolling and won't stop! It is only getting worse and I am so worried! I live in the Netherlands (67 yo) and I am preparing to live in my car and sell my home to avoid financial problems. I work since 1973. This is the most fearful because it is world wide. This is so sad 💔

  17. First, Pam is gorgeous! Second, she doesn’t look a day over 55yrs old to me. In any event she is living the life I desire. I was starting to convert my large SUV but something like this would be a game changer. I’ve towed a Casita trailer so I could do this. My husband is not that interested in the RV lifestyle either so it would be me and our young son who loves hanging in the outdoors with me. I could definitely do that type of pricing so this trailer is in reach. Excited to see the tour!

  20. I have a no build build: tubs, a cot, portable solar with a Walmart battery. Every single person who has seen it has said, “You need to go see Bob.” They don’t ask if I like it, if I’m happy with it. It’s clean, organized and practical. Please people, no matter what someone’s build looks like, be respectful of what they have created that works for them.

  27. He’s a savy business person. 1) seniors need to consider housing that has steps, like 5th wheels; 2) seniors need to consider what services they need or might need in the future, I.e. medical care, public transportation, etc. before moving to rural areas or small towns. Nice guy.

  49. I'm doing the same thing my friend owns her home it's very large and she turned the bottom floor / basement into an apartment. I decorated it beautifully and has an outside deck in So. CAL near wine country and she has rent control for me too and I'm 65 years old! Keep praying cuz God is good and here's your prayers ❤

  50. You don't believe me about what? That I was dirt poor as a child? Honestly I could give a flying flip whether you or anyone else believes me about the poverty me and my family faced when I was a child. All of my parents' kids learned our work ethic and frugal savings habits from a young age from our parents and have worked our tails off as adults to aquire what we now have. I for one am proud of all of us and how we turned out.
