  2. A week ago Uber paid me $28 for a long trip and I asked the rider how much he paid , he said $48.98 . $28/48.98 = 57% . That is , Uber took 43% and leaving me with 57% while I am responsible for the car , gas , maintenance, inspection, registration etc literally everything except their platform. Uber and Lyft are ripping off drivers. Until drivers get together to file a lawsuit against these robbers they will not stop . Zero transparency.

  19. I stood on a picket line the last time, 2007, when the Writers Guild of America went on strike. Its' probably time for it to happen again, and I wish the best for those who stand up against the corporate greed that is causing this ever diminishing rate of returns for creatives who make the shows possible.

  22. Had a friend do Uber eats on the side and they hardly made $10 per delivery. Some were low as $5 for 20+ minutes drive and one order was $80 and only received $9 out of it. Not only does uber rips off the drivers, they also rip off the customers with those ridiculous high "service" fees

  27. Sure this can be construed as Trump vs Biden. The whole point of these viewpoints really comes down to COMMON ground and that those who supported president X because they were sick and tired of corporations raking it in and letting the common person suffer for their cost cutting, actually agree on A LOT. That's powerful. We need politicians to get on this message and to make giant pushes towards corporate liability and the controlling of unlimited CEO and share holder pay which is making employees poorer and poorer.

  30. As someone from Portland Oregon I looked at this video to see what was going on and I was shocked at the cost of living, the people building vacation homes. I don't like the idea of big businesses and rich people being greedy when theres hard working people who can hardly afford their own property. Im a Democrat but I think most people want the same thing. Thank you for the Informative video! -Adam

  34. It is well past time for this program. Mark Begich - D, former Senator for AK, Lisa Murkowski - R ,ran as Independent when primaried by a proto maga candidate. Mary Peltola - D replaced Don Young - R after his death. Anchorage Mayors are often Democrats. Alaska protects the rights of minors more than other states. In terms of rights of disposition, minor children have equal rights as their adult siblings. Minor children receive shares to permanent fund dividends in their own names. Biden signing in the Willow firld did more for filling the Pipeline than Trump allowing leases in ANWAR. Leases that weren't taken by petroleum extraction companies. It is a shame that Democrats refused to campaign for Alaska's delegates. All Alaska contributions were shipped outside and spent in "Battleground States". Alaska is far more competitive than the Pundits credit.

  36. This state is to small, within 30 seconds I saw two people I know lol. I've met every single person they interviewed except the calvary guy. Had I known you guys were looking for people to interview up here I would have absolutely loved to have discussed Alaskan politics with you all. I defiantly agree with Erin, the main thing that keeps this state red is oil and mining-second would be 2A beliefs. I consider myself an environmentalist. I've done surveillance on mines for environmental NGOs and work in environmental controls. That being said, I am very pro oil and mining up here. My family is originally from Minnesota and I've seen the economic devastation brought on by the reduction in the iron mines, the railroad, and the paper mills in the Iron Range. The issue isn't as black and white as some people like to pretend it is. We have access to large reserves of rare earth resources that mostly get imported from China and Africa currently. Would we rather we, with our superior environmental regulations and concerns, mine them in Alaska and support our economy, or do we want to turn a blind eye to both the environmental and humanitarian destruction brought on in other parts of the world so we can all feel good here about keeping Alaska purely wild? Selfishly, but also in my mind morally, I far prefer we mine in Alaska where we can ensure the best practices we have available for environmental and human protection are implemented.

  40. I drive for Uber only. They started charging the customer more towards the end of Covid 19, and paying the drivers less. I was one of the first 100 drivers in Albuquerque in 2014. When I started @ 80% of the fare. At that time, they showed us what the fare was. Since the current CEO lost 8 Billion dollars we have been getting less per ride. I have never seen anything about us getting a smaller. I percent. I signed up because they offered us 80% of the fare, then after six months to a year new drivers were offered 75%.

  41. Very nice. I spent a year of my youth in the late 1970's in Alaska. Met some fine independent freedom loving people. Freedom: fair pay, for a fair days work. Enough to provide food, shelter, clothing for me and my family. Freedom: to know me and my neighbors can depend on each other, police, fire, community services. Freedom to not have to worry about healthcare. A place where healthcare is available to all. No bankruptcy because of sick care cost. That is the freedom our great nation does not offer. How sad for the world largest economy, super power never seen on earth before. Yet my neighbors still have to beg, As it was not their fault they got sick. That is the one freedom Republicans will not offer me.

  43. Alaska is probably among my favorite states for the beauty. Aside from the natural wonders that one can find at most every corner in this big state, its politics seem very complex to me. I just wish it was more affordable. I do like how 60% of Alaskans aren't a Democrat or Republican, as the video stated. I try not to align myself within political lines.   45. Being Alaskan we are “red” due to the amount of military serving that come into are state and they are from many red states and they are allowed to vote in this state as soon as they arrive. Being once a former military family, we get that. We are both retired from the union. This state has more voters that are not registered to any party. We have a MAGA government who is the cause of most of our woes as does more damage to this state that amazing he keeps being voted into office, simply like Trump many of his supporters ignore the policies he has made into laws. The Governor doe not look into the future, he just cuts costs to anything he can. Girdwood, a great place in the day to ski has been taken over by outside business interests to make into a resort for the high end elite. I can’t afford to ski there anymore. Unfortunately Alaska has been taken over by the out of state grifters who control all are big economic drivers. Resource extraction oil, gas and minerals. Fishing, tourists industry. Foreign banks in the state lend money to these business’s . I attended some Fish & Game meetings from the state and most of the people who come to speak on the issues are from out of state. Always the big issue in the many decades I live in is the fact that Alaska has abundant resources but we have no way to produce them to on our own we do not have the ability to create the production of them. We are lacking in the knowledge, the tools, and the fact that our airports are not fit be able to ship much produced in this state out we are stuck with them. Unless we as Alaskans in this state have the real power to develop the resources we are blessed are stuck with the grifters and big corporations. I find once working back over 40 years ago in the administration of a GOP governor that what we do in the state legislator is so different today. Many issues like the oil money dwindling into the state that we knew about for decades was prepared for this economic downturn at all. The legislator just kept kicking the can down the road and here we are are, No Governor or state legislator as in the last decades are fearful of taking financial matters to raise money to run the state by doing things are not not popular like a state income tax or a state sales tax. The government basically won’t go there if they want to stay in office. Nothing will change unless we find a different state leaders who have tried to balance our economic needs by they did get voted out of office. So all the whining how the state is run, is just that whining, but never much action.

  46. I honestly align with their views, but the sad part is, them voting for Trump is literally screwing your rights as a worker. Especially for unions. And the majority of people I work with are voting for him, I hope our union is still alive if he is elected again. I'm no fan of Harris, but Trumps policies focus on taking away a bunch of rights for workers.

  50. I work for an insurance company (a he mentioned here) for 10 years! They are the devil. The work very hard to not pay so they have higher profits but they’ve been sued so often that the rules were constantly changing. Keep suing!
