Dear Vanessa, words fail me. Absolutely gorgeous from start to finish. Your four legged companion is by your side, keeping you safe. Such beauty everywhere. That magnolia. The blackthorn in blossom. The sphagnum moss with its multitude of colours. Then the highlight of the ,kettle whistling, which we know heralds today's poem and drawing.

I now come here when I feel stressed. The lovely lady with a darling dog...who draws pictures at the end of the video. Absolutely gorgeous 24 mins of entertainment and relaxation ❤
37
Thank you all for your beautiful Videos and have a happy Christmas 🎄 XXX
37
I noticed 4 biscuits instead of three. good work,

Ever since my wife Vanessa passed away 4 months ago I have looked forward to your videos. They are a great comfort to me. Thank you.

Thanks for another wonderful and relaxing video ,Vanessa. The footage of the murmoration was amazing. The birds looked like one entity floating in the sky . The roe deer was a great bonus !

I am a believer in signs to show of a passed loved ones presence. The stunning sunset was Francesca's gift to you. After my dad passed away, mom and I saw the most vibrant rainbow we had ever seen and figured that it was his gift to us. Some people will think that this is strange. The seed was like an ethereal being floating through the duck hatch and then exploring your home. Thank you for sharing the beautiful villages you visit and the nature that surrounds you.
36
Thank you again for sorting out my zen... Don't tell anyone but i'm a big hairy builder but your beautiful poetry brings a tear, thank you.
36
What an epic video! It had everything, snow, ice, torrential rain, high drama, beautiful scenery, insects I never knew existed and four biscuits at the end! Had me on the edge of my seat. It must have been stressful for you though Vanessa so thank goodness you got through it.

I so love Vanessa how England makes a concerted effort to preserve its' heritage. Seeing that steam locomotive resurrected after serving so few years, is a testament to a few men who had the foresight to see its' value. Imagine the countless smiles this locomotive will paint upon so many young faces who ride her. I loved that you included a piglet in this weeks sketch along with the Leafy Brain Fungus. May God bless you and Mr. M in your continued canal travels, we all eagerly await what your future holds.
36
To paint a dog is great , but to capture her personality is fantastic, superb that is Chris .. can’t believe how good you are steering the narrow boat … lovely episode with you smiling constantly… loved it ..thank you
36
I'm an old disabled person of many years, far more than I wish to say. I'm unable to do the things you are doing and for that reason watch your broadcasts intently. Your descriptive language and your expression make your broadcasts a joy to behold. Your drawings are second to none.

How I Love the weekend and another Lovely video with Vanessa and Zephyr, Lovely scenery and some long tunnels too, Thank You so much and those Drawings,....WOW!
36
I love your tea-making ritual. Something so comforting about it.

Confucius say: A Friday without The Mindful Narrowboat is like a day without sunshine. Let the Sunshine in! (The Fifth Dimension) Happy Day Vanessa 🌅

You are a talented film maker, poet and artist. Great to see you getting the recognition you deserve. Best narrow-boating vlog by far!
36
My heart is full revisiting all the beautiful moments you have so generously offered us in 2023. You are a bringer of joy and I am so grateful to you. With warm wishes for you, Mr M and Zephyr on your travels in 2024. Big hug, Wendy xxxx

Wrap up warm in the snow! Beautiful poem and artwork Thank you again for creating such a gentle breathing space for us all in this hectic world 🙏🐾🦋
36
This is a beautiful vlog, take no notice the man who is being rude about Mr Mindful, I find the mystery intriguing. The Macclesfield looks a beautiful canal, we haven’t cruised that way. As usual I feel like I’ve had a history and nature lesson, don’t ever change Vanessa, Zephyr and Mr Mindful, you are perfect as you are. Happy Easter to you all. Lots of love. X😘
36
Brilliant , shame it had to end ... a mischief of mice , that's great . Can we have a new collective noun each week please ! haha.
36
After sadly losing my 11 year old Labrador 2 weeks ago, you and Zephyr have cheered me up. Many thanks and take care.
36
My grandmother had a phrase for the conditions you found yourselves in: "This weather is not fit for man nor beast!" ☔Well done to you and Zephyr for staying positive! As always, thanks for sharing the journey, come fair or foul weather! Congratulations on completing another journal. I'm sure this new one will take you (and us!) through many more mindful and scenic adventures. Merry Christmas!

Zeph is such a great travel companion!

1st March threw everything at us in Staffordshire today, rain , sleet, even a little sunshine , hope you and Zephyr stayed warm and dry, love the way you sketched the beetle, you made him look like he was about to walk off the page !, perfect 👌🏻
35
This lady has an incredible talent for capturing nature wherever she goes. Boating, nature, relaxing, observing, kindness, it’s all here
35
Nice mention of the pub that is rebuilding, hope your vlog brings him some business and that he will thrive once again. It is so important to support small business. I really enjoy your bird focus.
35
Blimey, that was an ordeal 😵💫 A beautiful picture of Zephyr.
34
Thank you, Vanessa, for sharing your thoughts and feelings surrounding the loss of a dear friend. Healing sentiments touching the hearts and souls of those experiencing a similar loss. RIP, Jenny. Gentle hugs to you, Vanessa. 🌹
33
I love the educational narrative that you share, both about the history of the canals and surrounding infrastructure and the flora and fauna. I learn something from each and every one of your videos! You can take the teacher out of the classroom,...but you cant take the classroom out of the teacher! As always,... Thanks tons for your efforts! Rick C

I'm sure it's no fun to have to outrun a storm, but there's something a bit magical about living so close to nature that you adjust your daily life and movements to its rhythms.
33
You should be on TV. Brilliant.
33
The Bronte sisters would be proud to call you a fellow writer. another great video. the poem was moving <3
33
When you were spelling out the "B A L L", I noticed that Zephyr cocked her head to one side, as it to say: "I know what you're trying not to say." I found that moment quite amusing. Thank goodness you both got into the narrowboat before that thunderstorm eventually broke - that rain really did hammer it down. Also, thank you for revisiting that small garden, a beautiful place to sit and relax, and just be with nature. I really love to wait for the end of the video to see the sketch of what you have seen in the past week along your journey - Thank you! 🙂
33
I like zeph’s smile today. I greatly appreciate you. Wonderful Narrow Boating, Tea, Art, and storytelling.
33
I’m not usually one to peruse the comments on the channels I follow on YouTube. Today I did, and the reactions to your videos affirmed something, I’ve suspected since first finding your channel. Your videos are little islands of refuge where people can lose themselves in the things of life, that are truly important. Thank for sharing your world through this medium.
33
Your friend will have looked down& known the superhuman effort you made to be at the funeral & im sure would have been proud of your eulogy…. God bless.

Hi Vanessa it’s only me – I can’t wait to watch this evenings vlog ,unfortunately I missed the notification be flashing up – my multiple sclerosis is really been playing up this past few weeks so I’ve been pretty poorly but I’ve been looking forward to my Friday night Vlog – I hope you have a lovely weekend. Sending loads of love and hugs. ~ Xxx Xxx

Hi Vanessa. Your wildlife filming is amazing. I love your excitement and enthusiasm when you spot a particular bird or animal. Thanks for posting.
32
Thank you everybody!! We just all would love to have an annual calendar based on Vanessa's AND ZEPHYR's experiences! The knowledge she imparts to us is beyond soothing!!
32
A season of the year which provides so many opportunities to see wildlife, yet many people fail to notice. It's always a pleasure to see nature through your lense. Thank you and stay warm. ❤
32
You are one brave cookie......total respect......stay safe
32
Even when you are providing factual content such as boat costs you manage to enchant and educate us along the way. We follow a couple of other vlogs; but often find it disappointing that the vlogger (sadly usually the "female" of the duo:) keeps the camera almost constantly directed at their own face; when they could be showcasing the beautiful scenery around them. It is frustrating; so that we often just skip those parts. . Thank you so much for these beautiful videos. They are the best we have ever found. Wishing you and your viewers all the best for 2024.
32
WOW that turn from the river and into the canal was very impressive. I found myself 'helping' by learning with the turn while seated on my couch. 😮🙂
32
Piloting the boat through those floodgates without taking your foot off the gas, was pretty impressive! And that kingfisher...and the kestrel, buzzard and everything else, captured forever through the eyes of an artist in both prose and paint! Very nicely done! Cheers!
32
Beautiful and surprise-filled moments for you. Winter's absolutely lovely sunny days made more wonderful by the snow and frozen times. Zephyr's interest in just about everything you explain to her and her reactions of agreement are fun to watch.
32
Not only is the video lovely, calm and beautiful- but so are the comments about it. Thank you for this island of gentleness and peace in this world of chaos.
32
Another lovely video! But just FYI, Blue John was/is mined in the Castleton that is in the Hope Valley of the Peak District. There are a few caves there, one named Blue John Cavern. The Castleton you floated past (Castleton Moor) along the Rochdale canal was where they mined blue clay, which is not the same as the rare mineral known as Blue John. :)
32
I've got to say Vanessa. This is probably the best Narrowboat video that I've ever watched! It was magical, well done.
31
Zephyr’s face when she was looking for that cat had me chuckling! It was just what I needed as we’ve all been sick this past week. May those memories and the knowledge that your lovely daughter is making a difference be a comfort to you 🩷. I hope you’ve managed to stay warm dear friend xx
31
I always feel excited when I see that you’ve uploaded a video for us, in the crazy world we live in you manage to provide 20 minutes or so of calm and mindfulness. That was another scary tunnel, it was very naughty of Mr Mindful to give you a fright like that. I always feel like I’ve learned something when I have watched your videos. I love the collective name for snowdrops, and your wildlife shots were spectacular as they always are. it can’t be easy thinking of a poem for us each week, but you manage it along with your beautiful artwork. Thank you Vanessa, stay safe and well, all three of you. X
