  2. Recently went to a Mercedes tech class. They have some incredible tech. Headlamps coming out with 180 something individual programmable LED’s + projectors that will display images on the roadway ahead. LED’s can throw light where you want and not where you don’t (like toward oncoming drivers or reflective street signs). Amazing

  18. Love the collaboration! I'm on the mechanic side of this battle. Although I like to drain the oil as long as possible. I left my Miata on the lift for 3 hours while it drained. It was a slow day and we had a free lift.

  20. Jason, I just got a 320d with the ZF Transmission. While I found the transmission to be pretty competent at first, it didn't really blow me away. Then I got my car coded up to enable the Sports Automatic Transmission (which bmw charges extra for) and boy did that change the characteristics of the whole car. The manual mode shifts are instantaneous as you describe, while the comfort mode shifts are smooth and barely perceptible, as they should be. Truly a masterpiece of a transmission!

  22. I have a CX9 with this engine and I have to say it's pretty impressive. I do actually get the fule economy that they advertise and I'm happy with the power. Under normal circumstances I get about 26-27 mpg (in a 7 passenger suv)

  44. I almost didn’t watch this video, I was like “eh… corvette? Meh.” But i knew you’d have something interesting to say and I was correct. The part about the oil management and the vacuum and complementary pistons pushing and pulling air and less aerodynamic resistance on the cams all had my head spinning. Really impressive how these engineers come up with these clever ways to gain power and efficiency.

  45. Spot-on video my friend. As a former NHRA race driver who later went into engineering, I'd give you TWO thumbs up if I could! One thing people don't realize is that you design a suspension for drag, or for handling, or you compromise and find a balance. Dodge did not want to compromise the drag performance. If you want cornering, Dodge make other options.

  47. Jason’s comments at 16:00 reminds me of GM ‘s experiment with diesel engines in cars in the late 70’s. The experience was so bad that it basically ruined the North American market for diesel powered cars. Manufacturers should take note.
