For example: Russia allowed Germany to be reunited and withdrew its troops. How did they repay this gesture of goodwill? Unfortunately, logic and facts have long been perceived very aggressively here. However, in the West people have not experienced such strong Goebbels-style propaganda, so many are opening their eyes. I have repeatedly encountered stereotyped thinking about Russia, where all the rulers are tyrants, and people are slaves oppressed by these tyrants to such an extent that they like it. Ivan the Terrible, Stalin, and now Putin are cited as examples. Your contribution to the understanding of what is happening in Russia by Western listeners is enormous. Thank you very much.

When I studied two semesters of Russian history back in the early 80s the professor ,who was a great professor, taught us that the map of the Soviet republic of Ukraine was drawn by Lenin after the Russian civil war in 1924 when the communist rearranged the former Romanov empire to create the Soviet Union . Prior to that western Ukraine were parts of Poland and the Austro-Hungarian empire . After the demise of the Soviet Union the neo-cons changed the narrative . Thank you Dr. Brovkin .

Then in the Soviet Baltic states there was everything you wanted, from chewing gum and cigarettes to mechanical engineering. Well, now it’s a miserable outback with a dying population.
