  1. Delta plane crash: Outrage over 'selfish' passenger act #breakingnews #planecrash #delta #worldnews Images of scared passengers evacuating the upturned Delta airlines plane that crash-landed in Toronto with personal belongings like backpacks and neck pillows have been blasted. If you are a regular flyer you will likely be familiar with the important line during the safety demonstration on takeoff that informs passengers to leave their belongings behind in the event of an emergency. This is so baggage carried on to the flight does not impede or delay the evacuation. Simply put, it’s quicker to get people out if they are not carrying stuff. Bags and other items can also damage emergency equipment such as escape slides. Passengers have filmed their desperate escape from the cabin of a Delta... See more On Monday afternoon, local time, Delta flight 4819 crash landed and flipped on its back in harsh winter conditions at Canada’s largest airport. Four crew and 76 passengers were on board the Bombardier CRJ 900 plane, which was arriving from Minneapolis, US. Fortunately, they all managed to escape alive. Footage of the disastrous landing showed flames and black smoke before the aircraft flipped belly-up on the runway. “Drop everything. Drop it,” a crew member could be heard saying. Yet, passengers were still seen climbing out the aircraft with backpacks, drink bottles, carrying coats and neck pillows. Speaking after the deadly Japan Airlines crash in Tokyo in January last year, expert Sonya Brown said passengers not taking their carry-on baggage was key to the fast evacuation that took place. Ms Brown, a senior lecturer in aerospace design at the University of New South Wales, said the more people who leave their belongings behind — the better people’s chance of escaping. “We have the least chance of incidents if people aren’t carrying things. Also, if someone picks up their bags they could actually damage some of the emergency equipment – for example, the emergency inflatable slides ” she told the publication. “So it is really important that people do leave their belongings behind.” -- This production uses an automated voice-over to assist viewers. -- Connect With news.com.au Online ► [https://www.news.com.au] https://bit.ly/3WC8hOP ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Follow Us: Facebook ► [https://www.facebook.com/news.com.au/] Instagram ► [https://www.instagram.com/newscomauhq/?hl=en] Podcast ► [https://newscomau.org/FromTheNewsroom] TikTok ► [@news.com.au] Twitter ► [https://twitter.com/newscomauHQ] ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe To Our YouTube Channel For The Very Latest News From Australia And Around The World: ► [https://www.youtube.com/@newscomauhq] ► [https://www.youtube.com/@newscomauhq/shorts] ► [https://www.youtube.com/@newscomauhq/videos] ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

  32. South Korean President Yoon arrested in standoff #breakingnews #southkorea #martiallaw #yoonsukyeol Impeached South Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol has been arrested over his failed bid to impose martial law, hours after hundreds of investigators and police raided his residence. Mr Yoon, who faces charges of insurrection, had resisted arrest since his imposition of martial law plunged the country into its worst political crisis in decades in December. At the time, Mr Yoon directed soldiers to storm parliament in an unsuccessful attempt to stop lawmakers voting down his move. Over 3,000 officers were earlier deployed to the residence to arrest the conservative politician for a second time. After hours of standoff, authorities announced Mr Yoon had been arrested and the impeached leader released a prerecorded video message. “I decided to respond to the Corruption Investigation Office,” Yoon said in a prerecorded video message, adding that he did not accept the legality of the investigation but was complying “to prevent any unfortunate bloodshed.” Yoon, who is the first sitting president in the nation’s history to be arrested, could face the death penalty or life in jail if he is found guilty of insurrection. South Korea’s opposition Democratic Party said on Wednesday the arrest was the beginning of restoring order to the country after weeks of political turmoil.
