  24. I have friends who married their high school sweetheart over 20 years ago and are still happily married with good families to this day and would never change a thing. I have friends who got married in high school/college and got divorced. I have friends who married in their late 20's and 30's (after the 'fun' phase) and are happily married for the most part. I have friends who got divorced in their 30s'/40's and are thrust back into the single life (with kids) after a rough marriage. They feel "free" once again. Couple of my friends are widowed already! (late 30's) A lot of happiness. A lot of misery too. I know people who waited until their 40's to finally settle down. They wanted it that way. It was the right time. For them. I think we'd all agree, sadly when i see the news sometimes, not every couple should reproduce. Why does society want to force people to have kids?? Is there a "right" way to do life? A lot of people in the comments think there is a "right" way. People should do this. People should do that. why?

  35. The Patton Oswalt thing still makes me sad... He's a funny guy, but he bends over backwards for his perceived "in group" and has been doing so for ages. I have lots of friends with different beliefs and ideas, but if I was called out for it, at most I'd say "This person and I disagree on stuff, but they are a good friend. I know their opinions as a friend, so I don't need your simplified versions of their thoughts. Get over it. Make some friends you disagree with on stuff, it will make you more complete as a person. You can hate me, but I pity you". The way Patton did it just shows how cheap his friendship is.

The whole reason anyone would make that stand is on the principle that people should be free to make decisions for themselves.   48. The thing is, we're SUPPOSED to be separated. That's what goddam states are for. We're only having all these issues because leftists don't understand federalism. They can all HAVE state run healthcare, for example, if they wanted it in their state, without constitutional roadblocks. If they showed us a version that WORKED they might even win people over. But they ALWAYS want to federalize everything and just pretend the Constitution doesn't exist because their real goal is power and control, not improving lives.
