You mean like the horrifying human experiment we're living right now, as we're being pushed into getting a rushed thru, experimental, unproven vax that prevents neither infection nor transmission, and of which we have no idea what the long term effects will be? Oh, and destroying the economies of the world, while we're at it. Oh, and keeping people isolated and inside (great for the immune system!) and muzzled (great for not breathing & training kids to not be able to read human expressions).   14. I made the mistake of listening to it a few years ago. What was chilling was how... quiet it was. I figured there'd be a lot of screaming and chaos. The babies crying really got to me. For a while, I'd go to church and hear babies and I'd flinch.

  18. The only class I've ever gotten a D in was trigonometry. I remember handing in papers with just my name on top. I might as well have been in a class where they were speaking a foreign language. I remember missing / not understanding something one day, and I was hopelessly lost after that. My teacher only passed me out of pity because I was a senior about to graduate! I was there every day and I was trying SO HARD. He knew I was a good student in every other area. Thank you, Mr. Meyer! The very existence of math is evidence that material realities are not the only realities out there. Real things can exist, that cannot be apprehended by our 5 senses.

  23. Fascinating history. There's so much knowledge that we just take for granted. We forget that the process for gaining that knowledge was not always straightforward and that sometimes, morally questionable methods were used because alternatives were limited.

  37. Balloon proposal - AWWWW! You are, indeed, adorable. "He was slightly German." - Ha! What a fantastic name. I loved the old footage and also the drawings. I would have loved to have seen them in action. (Uh, from the ground. You couldn't pay me enough to get in one.) I didn't realize how large they were, that they had such amenities, and could hold so many people. Very cool! I've seen video of the Hindenburg disaster before and it's just horrifying. Hearing the reporter's voice still gives me chills & makes me weepy.

  40. The why is because we are created in the image of the master Creator. I love music, so this was fascinating. I wonder if there's any difference in the benefits of listening to music vs. making music? Or are the benefits about the same? What about those people who don't listen to music? (Not because of any physical problem, but just because it doesn't interest them.) Yes, they exist. I know at least one person who seems to be this way. They don't actively dislike music. But they don't listen to it or seek it out. They don't turn on a radio for songs. If something is on TV, maybe they'll listen for a few minutes. But that's about it. If there's anyone here like this, I would love to hear your perspective. I wish music therapy had existed when I was college age. (Or if it did, that I'd been aware of it.) I wish I had gotten into that field.

  43. You know what's really amazing? If some sort of microscopic life were found on Europa, it would be news around the world. And if someone found a way to kill that life (or even just suggested doing it), they probably would be ostracized from the human race. Yet back here on earth, we have microscopic (and even much bigger) human life in the womb. Not only is it legal to kill that human life, people shriek for it as their "right."

  47. This was so fascinating! I didn't know the technology had progressed to this point. Those humanoid robots are so very creepy. That said, I love what can be done with them as far as medical/therapy uses. The more advances that will help people in this way, the better. As to AI, I don't know why people worry about that. Machines can't think. They can pretend they do, but it's not like person. It would be like being afraid of your computer. It only does what you tell it to do. (Well... for the most part!)

  48. The Fine Arts Building in Chicago still has elevator operators! (At least, up until 1-2 years ago. I used to take voice classes there, but I haven't been there in a while.) It's a gorgeous old building and the whole thing is very quaint. But holy cow, I don't know how they can stand it. The elevators are tiny, get super crowded at times, and there's no AC in the building. It's like an oven. I'm guessing they only do a few hours at a time. No way someone could stand in there 8 hours a day. Thankfully, I think it's only 10 floors.
