@sebyknows5306 You need to know that it's NOT just Conservatives who thought the movie was inappropriate. There were many people who didn't think it was okay to sexualize children like that (in fact, all of my Democrat friends/family members that I talked to, except 1, thought the same thing: 18:1). Not only that, but... After I watched it, I actually thought that they could've made a much better movie, if they'd used the topic of "sexualization of children," differently, in order to bring awareness to what's going on in the US, and around the world. It seems they tried to do that a bit, but failed big time.

@sebyknows5306
But I won't ever agree with that age thing, or MAPS. As a survivor of both C.S.A. and R as an adult too, I would strongly ask you to look inside your soul and think about those two very important things. I get that it is likely different being a guy, but Just please think about it you were a parent someday, and if you had a daughter, how you'd want to be able to protect them however possible, and with that law, that actually takes away your right to be able to protect them with a statutory case. Once 14 rolls around, you won't have a say anymore, if the guy is under 24. That's pretty crazy if you think about it. Otherwise, you could give consent still, if the law wasn't there, but now you won't have a choice or say at all... And you'll know your child better than anyone. And 14... Most 8th graders??? Shouldn't be sleeping with college students or college grads... That's just crazy!

@sebyknows5306 Sorry, I just don't agree. If the movie hadn't been based on having/needing to dress "sexy," or act more "sexy" TO WIN, I likely wouldn't have had an issue, but THAT'S the reason I had a problem with it.
We are talking about 11 year olds, needing to dress and act more sexy, in order to get noticed/or win.
Maybe you didn't think about it that way...
11 year olds, shouldn't be having to do these things to EMPOWER themselves... In fact, they should be doing the opposite and saying "I DON'T have to act sexy, show skin, etc., to win competitions, win attention, etc..." And as adults, we should be helping to protect them as well, not pushing them.
Teaching little girls that they need to use their sexuality/body to gain attention, friends, win competitions, etc., ISN'T okay... It's NOT Empowering! It's the very opposite!

@sebyknows5306
What are you talking about?
White privilege? Here we go with the Left's ignorant talking points...
Anything I've ever done on life, I've had to work for. When I was an athlete, I had to bust my ass to be the athlete I was. The same with school and grades. You have no idea the things I've been through in my life, and if you actually tried to have a decent conversation with people, I think you'd realize that you're VERY wrong with your assumptions about people.
I NEVER said I hated anyone. I'm not sure how you came up with that thought... Except for the fact that you're ignorant and see things that aren't actually there.
For your information, I own a Construction Company that employs different races, so to say anything like that is completely IGNORANT.
The things you come up with are just RIDICULOUS!
Unlike you, I actually work and help others. Not only do I have 19 employees, I CHOOSE to provide them with health insurance, and great pay. I DON'T have to do that, but choose to, because financially I'm able to, and WANT to help.
You have a VERY twisted idea of who I am.
But then again, I'm old enough to be your Mother, so that explains a lot... You haven't experienced enough things in life yet.

@sebyknows5306
I don't see the world like you do!
I don't care if somebody is Hispanic, Caucasian, Black, Asian, Indian, etc.
I wasn't raised to see color.
I guess I was one of the "LUCKY" ones. Even with my Mother being 73 years old (and my father would also be the same age, but he passed away when I was only 20), I was raised VERY differently.
My uncle's best friend growing up was Black (and this was not common back then- in the 60's), and he and his family are still extremely close to our's. My twin brother is married to a girl who is half Asian and half Caucasian, and they chose to adopt a newborn baby that is 1/2 black, 1/4 Cherokee, and a 1/4 Jamaican. My Aunt also adopted 3 young boys from Africa as well. One of my best friends, I met in college, is from Tanzania (I'll let you guess the color of his skin). He is back in Tanzania now, because he only came over for his education, but we still stay in touch on a regular basis.
I could continue going on, but at the end of the day, my parents (strong Consecutive Catholics), to taught us that it doesn't matter what somebody's skin color is, their religion, their political group, what their sexual orientation is, etc., If they treat you kindly, that's ALL that matters.
