@GavinJones19982 You asked me if I was maga, I said that I was not.
1
@GavinJones19982 You literally said, and I quote, " are you [maga]? 😂"

I wonder if they intend to burn the ship down if they don't get their way in November. If they lose the elections, will they just shut the government down over Christmas and New Years until the new guys take over in early January?
1
@coltongropp1465 That's incorrect. The founding fathers never intended a 2/3 majority for basic legislation, only for Constitutional Amendments. The current filibuster situation is an accidental "bug" from a rules change that came later. Also, it has been the stated goal of the Republican party to stonewall almost anything Democrats try to pass, that is their intent, EVEN in cases where 70%+ of the American people are in favor of something. There can be no justification for such childish behavior. Democrats are doing nothing wrong here, it is entirely the fault of Republicans, and their voters need to take responsibility for that.

@apatriotfirstanamericansec6010 No, Democracy is majority rule. Always. I think maybe you mean that Direct Democracy and Representative Democracy are two different things, which is true, but both are majoritarian systems, the only difference, assuming that both are functioning as intended, is that representative democracy concentrates that authority a bit so that the people directly wielding that authority can form more expert opinions on the matter before deciding. They still need to remain reflective of the intent of voters though.

@apatriotfirstanamericansec6010 Democracy is majority rule. Always. That is the point of democracy. If you had looked up majority rule, you would know that, unless you were looking it up under unreliable sources.

I think it's because she wasn't linked in any way that would be relevant to the public interest.
1
@curtisjeffries9640 Exactly.
1
@curtisjeffries9640 No, I get it. There's no proof of any wrongdoing here, just wild insinuations.
1
@ Oh, I'm not maga.
1
@Homedepotorange Nope, the current budget and existing debts is way to high to rationally deal with by using spending cuts alone, nor tax increases alone. It needs to be a little of both, very carefully handled, over a matter of decades.
1
@Negus Negast Ok, what term would you use for it? Ideally one that has roughly the same numbers of syllables so that you can use it in the same sentence structures.
1
@Negus Negast Well, all laws are technically "crime control," to some degree, but gun control is specific to the availability of guns to criminals.
1
You mean he poked his head into the bubble and got stung. The overwhelming majority of Americans are supportive of the gun control bill he's working on.
1
@SpecialistQKD If he broke federal gun laws already on the books then he would have been charged before Trump left office.
1
@SpecialistQKD If the Googles is telling you otherwise then the Googles is wrong. Simple rule of thumb to go by, any Democrat who got past Jan 20th 2021 without being charged of a federal crime by Trump's DoJ, has not committed any federal crimes.
1
@SpecialistQKD They are investigating the gallows, although really that was more of a showpiece than a practical device. More important is investigating the people planning and coordinating the attempt for Trump to remain in power, and that is the purpose of the Jan 6th commission.
1
Only a couple hundred more and he'll have almost as many as the last guy!
1
Why would that make any difference? Is there anything he could do about a hurricane in DC that he couldn't do from anywhere else in the world? This is the 21st Century.
