House Weaponizing the Government Committee: "Political bias in the FBI is bad." Also House Weaponizing the Government Committee: "These agents that had their security clearances revoked for abusing their positions in a politically biased manner are heroes!"
16
Yeah, that makes sense. Keep swinging at someone who hasn't been involved in politics for four years now, just because more people voted for her than for him. Sad.
16
And why specifically reference aliens, and not humans?
15
I wish Republicans would stand up to Trump on issues of substance.
15
When Roberts says "ten minutes away," I assume he is meaning "by car." These people would presumably not have cars, so "ten minutes away" would actually be a several hour hike. If he is talking about only a ten minute walk away, say a half-mile or so, then I don't think that would be an undue burden for them to stay there.
15
@michaelreiter503 I think you miss the point of the analogy.
15
There generally aren't enough athletes to sustain a trans-only league.
15
If you saw a video like that, someone was playing games with you, but there is real actual video of the events, and they were indeed that large.
14
Rubio should tell his boss that.
14
This is why you don't elect Republicans to higher office.

@appslg3phone "Wherin they reside" is not a condition of being a US citizen. Let me make the 214th Amendment more clear for you. Here is what it means, step by step: Any persons born in the US is a Citizen of the United States. Period. No exceptions. Ever. Any persons not born in the US, but born subject to US jurisdiction (such as on a US military base or something) is also a Citizen of the United States. Any persons not born in the United States, but who is "naturalized" (ie goes through other legal processes to obtain citizenship) is also a Citizen. The "wherin they reside" part is irrelevant to their national citizenship, all that means is that in addition to being a US citizen, that person is also considered a citizen of whichever US state in which they live. This is why a college student can claim citizenship in the state where they attend college. If you want to change any of those things, you would need to pass a Constitutional amendment to do it.

It depends on likelihood. I mean, if the idea is that people are threatening to commit suicide if they don't get their way, then clearly that isn't a valid argument, but if we are talking about a statistical likelihood that people will commit suicide under certain conditions, then isn't it a good idea to try and avoid causing those conditions? Like say there were a bill to make anti-depressant drugs illegal, even if it can be shown that those drugs currently reduce suicide rates by a given amount, and would predictably return those suicide rates to their previous level. Wouldn't it be reasonable to argue "this bill will lead to increased suicide rates, and that is a bad thing?"
14
So obviously you can never support Trump.
14
It's all public record.
13
It doesn't apply to Disney employees, it only applies to employees of the RCID government. I have no idea how many employees they actually have. They have no legal right to tell Disney employees what to do.
13
Like she mentioned in her response, they did not ban this care, they only changed their guidance on when it should be used. In those countries, the option is left open for doctors to do what's in the best interests of their patience, which the law under review would not allow.
13
@lakepal7912 Oh no, I'm not maga.
13
Loll what a clown car. This is the state of the "Grand Old Party." The Green Party is looking more professional than these guys!
13
No, we do not have a wide open border, and no laws have been broken by this administration involving the border, except perhaps their efforts to reduce border crossings.
13
@suemarrs5283 Think about it. Every time he says "[other person] is/does [a thing]," that is a thing that Trump has already done, or at least would do, given the chance. It is far more likely that Trump has done that thing, than that the person he has talking about ever would.
13
@kentklein6266 That's how Congress works, you spend most of your time in DC, where Congress is. This is true of ALL members of Congress and has been for our lifetimes. He does have a residence in his district though, and spends his off-time there, working with constituents.
13
Tell me you don't understand how economics works, without saying that you don't understand how economics works.
13
It's punitive damages so that the next time Alex Jones, or someone like him, considers painting grieving parents as "actors," they will perhaps think twice. It's the same reason we put murders in jail. That won't bring back the victims either. When people do wrong, they are punished for it, and that makes it less likely that wrong will be done in future.
13
Jack Smith's announced that indictments are coming. Anyone who did crimes WILL be held accountable.
13
Yup, and like the increasing number of hurricanes, a lot of it has to do with people being idiots.
13
Ok, but we're talking about the US government here, which has nothing to do with religious beliefs.
12
@kenthalasAT Why do you believe a business should be safe to commit fraud?
12
If Josh Hawley were being honest, he would be able to admit that Trump is worse.
12
He didn't uncover anything though. He just implied that there might be things that could be uncovered.
12
@roseclipper Japan's national debt is 200% of their GDP, they're doing just fine. It's not a problem. What WOULD be a problem is defaulting on the national debt, so let's get that solved, and then worry about the debt to GDP ratio.
12
It's not about either of those things. You apparently missed a great deal.
12
What about January 6th?
12
Donald Trump is a complete joke outside of the MAGA bubble.
12
It was because at the time she didn't think she would be believed, but then a tape came out of him admitting that he does this sort of thing regularly, and several other women came out with their own stories, and she felt that perhaps she would be believed. A jury did believe her, but as you can see, there are still those who would prefer the word of someone who openly admits to sexually assaulting women over one of his victims, so she had every reason to be hesitant about it in the 90s.
12
With what President Musk's been up to, what difference could a shut-down possibly make? What's not already shut down?
12
The thing about progressives is that they are always moving forward toward a better world, while conservatives always stay exactly where they were as teenagers.
12
@RUESPEED1 A lot of states allowed early counting of early ballots, which is why they could get results out faster. Other states, especially swing states controlled by Republican governments, made this slower by only starting the counts on election day. They believed that by increasing chaos into the process, it could make attempts to claim election fraud more viable. They overestimated how gullible the American people were.
12
Those prices started going up during the Trump administration. I think you miss the pre-pandemic pricing, which is fine, but has nothing to do with who the President is at the time.
12
@kingkuts They send some of their money back home, but spend a lot of it here on food and housing. They add more to the Us economy than they take from it. Has someone been telling you lies to the contrary? Do they control you through fear?
12
That would involve actually governing. He is not there for that. He's there to play around with Republican grievances.
11
@benw8416 Yup. Can you imagine the idiots objecting to that? Those same folks were the ones in 1940 saying that we shouldn't be supporting England.
11
Yes, the Republican House has been a joke, Elect clowns, expect a circus. I can't wait for 2024 to clean House.
11
Well, you can't argue that he's a worse president than Trump was, at least.
11
To be fair, that's plenty good reason. Trump earned that reaction though his own behavior.
11
He did go to war.
11
@chawnslopoke2619 The things Trump promised he'd do. We should all wan tot avoid that.
11
@SongMom8 That would be nice, but as an addition to the existing systems, it would fail completely as a replacement for them. And the system will only go bankrupt if they continue to break it. If it had been left alone over the years, it would be doing fine right now. If they restored what they stole from it, it would be fine.
11
She did a lot more than Trump has over the last eight.
11
@tonybattaglio4625 Because they were not at that base. See, this is why "what I saw with my own eyes" is often a poor judge of what actually happens in the world. You can only ever see 0.000001% of the world with your own eyes.
11
Lol. Another example of "We demand Biden resign for doing things that Trump did much worse."
