No good deed goes unpunished. In this case, these other government agencies should be sued for enabling this lifestyle.
42
Did these business owners vote Democrat? Did they vote for Wheeler? If so, they got exactly what they voted for.
41
LA's Skid Row had outbreaks of bubonic plague for years due to the homeless camps. Yes, that Black Death.
40
Ridiculous! Neighborhood data should be on Redfin. I check school rankings, flood zones and crime data when looking at homes. I simply use other sites if the data is not available on Redfin.
39
Unintended consequences of encouraging criminals to commit crimes.
39
We have to appreciate the ironies in this case. Blue cities mayors and governors are applauding this 6-3 decision thanks to conservative judges while the three DEI appointees were fuming. Why we got here was because the 9th circus made a terrible ruling in the Idaho case. Years later, the 9th circus issued a memo to their SF employees to work from home because the federal courthouse is unsafe due to all the drug addicts camping outside their front door. At the same time, the blue cities and states use the 9th circus decision as an excuse for not doing their job until the APEC summit proved drug addict removal can magically be done when their Chinese overlord comes for a visit with no negative impact to budgets.

This is the reasonable take. I support the mayor of El Paso. Keep sending them to other sanctuary cities. We need to revisit the whole "count everyone in the census" BS.
38
Every politician that supported BLM or Defund the Police should have been required to resign. The voters that backed BLM and supported defunding the police must not be allowed to vote for at least 10 years.
36
So now we have proof chronic homelessness is a lifestyle choice. They do not want to follow the rules. Cut off the government assistance for those that refuse help.
32
They are asking for forgiveness instead of permission. This is business as usual for SF because playing by the rules means nothing gets done.
32
It is like those same lunatics that adopted pets at the beginning of the pandemic. Now they are giving them up when they have to go back to work. Damn idiots.
31
All businesses need to pull out of SF. Insurers need to stop insuring businesses within SF.
31
Taking people's stuff because you think they are not using it to your standards. Why does this sound like a horrible idea?
30
Breed needs to lead by example. She needs to be on the streets as part of those reserve cops. In fact, every voter that complained about crime and supported BLM needs to be the first ones called up to deal with the crime. Otherwise, Breed is full of shiet.
30
Homeless people: Gimme help and stuff! Also Homeless people: I am not following your rules for your help!
30
On the bright side, this only adds to the justification for the Greater Idaho movement. Let's give Idaho a Pacific coastline!
30
Move the refinery to Texas and take care of AZ and NV. Let CA reap what CA liberals voted for. Liberal voters will never learn.
30
F that! The moment the moratorium ends, get the squatters out and rent again. Those tenants who are working with the landlords to pay their rent can stay.
29
Newsom has said he will not end the covid state of emergency for CA even though businesses can reopen fully in a week. His excuse is to maintain his emergency powers. You bet rent moratoriums will stay in place.
29
Insurance companies are starting to charge astronomical rates for general business insurance in the blue cities. Businesses might not have a choice to operate in crime prone states very soon.
29
The solution is the judges STOP releasing criminals, the DA prosecuting and the police arrest criminals!
29
This is a pay per view freak show. Congratulations, SF voters.
28
My first question to these business owners is which party did they vote for? If they voted Democrat, let them live with their choices.
28
They also sometimes burn the whole house down.
28
The citizens of NY got exactly what they voted for. Why are they surprised of the outcome?
28
This clusterfuck will get worse. No insurance, no loans. Let's see how this will affect home sales in CA.
27
Oaklandistan being Oaklandistan.
27
This is why government needs to focus on doing its core functions. The moment politicians muck with the economy, everything goes to hell in a hand basket.
27
This is why we shouldn't let urban voters dictate statewide policy. People voting on issues they know nothing about creates more problems.
26
Politicians keep blaming the rich for not paying their fair share but in reality it really is a spending and mismanagement problem.
26
This is probably the final nail in the coffin for California. Who in their right mind will pay $1m for a home and you can barely afford the home insurance to satisfy the mortgage terms? That means only cash buyers need apply.
26
It is amazing how the insurance companies figured out a fire would hit but nobody in the water dept, fire dept, city or state governments figures it out.
24
Just watch the thieves shift to breaking into Amazon lockers.
23
If people can not defend themselves using legal firearms, it is effectively a nullification of the 2nd Amendment. Damn right this couple should never have been prosecuted in the beginning.
23
Las Vegas has superior venue with much less crap.
23
The federal courthouse employees should not be allowed to work from home. The 9th district Court ruled cities can not remove people sleeping on the streets. They need to experience the consequences of their own rulings.
22
I have a theory on blue states. Yes, liberals have lots of ideas. In the private sector, 1 in 10 ideas succeed. They are funded by private equity and hedge funds. The other 9 ideas go bankrupt because they run out of their investors' money. The issue is when liberals apply this same principle to government with the ability to tax people like a bottomless pit of money. This explains decades of failure on homelessness and billions spent with no measure of success. There is no method to pull the plug on failures in government policies.
22
Watching Target telling customers to "hold my Bud Light" is so entertaining.
22
What O'Leary described us exactly what every homeowner had to go through to buy a home. The buyer and bank go back and forth with comps to come up with a loan amount. The fact that Hockel had to publically reassure investors that the state is only going after Trump is tantamount to admitting this is political persecution by perversing the law to achieve it.
22
What guy looked at Ladies Night and thought "I want to be be a part of that, too!"? Does someone want to attack Senior Tuesdays? This is why we can not have nice things.
21
Offer these people one chance to get back into society. They get help if they choose to accept it. If they refuse, cut off homeless services and enforce the law.
21
The issue is not a lack of public defenders. It is an overabundance of people committing crimes.
21
I am still trying to wrap my mind on the long term implications of what the endgame will be. These laws will never be rolled back. What is the tipping point when these laws destroy enough rentals? How bad will these cities get economically?
21
To put the scope of the problem into perspective, San Francisco spent $320m each year with an additional $300m in a account until the court case is resolved. Los Angeles spends $1 billion per year. None of these cities fixed their homeless problem. Stop voting for Democrats! It is not a funding problem. It is a mismanagement and corruption problem.
21
They can not work but they can get professional licenses!? Inslee is insane!
21
50.5% of voters in SF elected Chesa Boudin, a criminal sympathizer. They got exactly what they asked for.
20
You should watch the press conference for the mayor of SF and police chief claiming crime is going down in SF and arrests are being made. Then the police chief throws the DA under the bus in the most subtle way. These Democrats are outright liars.
20
These clowns should not be getting any vests. The state of CA is trying to ban bullet proof vests. If the people do not get passive protection, neither should city employees.
20
Moodys just downgraded SF's credit rating. The tax apocalypse has begun. SF deserves to become Detroit. They took advantage of their wealth, geography and tourist appeal.
20
Time to GTFO of Oakland. There are plenty of great cities that Clorox and Kaiser can be located.
