  2. DACA has broad bipartisan support. But clearly it makes no sense to create an incentive for people bring their kids over and supersede those who applied and waited for immigration legally. The compromise might be to make some sort of sacrifice that is beneficial to America. Serve in the military for some period of time or go to college for a profession that is in short supply and have priority under H1B. These people should get a green card after they satisfy the requirement. The rest should be granted a work visa and they have to apply for a green card and put in the same queue as regular immigrant applicants. That should allow them to stay. At the same time, border enforcement has to increase and states have to cooperate with ICE for those people convicted for crimes.

  25.  @TCt83067695  Warren is confusing cash flow with wealth. They are not the same thing. It is fine for publicly traded companies, but 70% of businesses in America are small privately owned businesses. It is not unusual for some of them to be appraised for $50 million+ in assets. This does not mean they have mountains in cash lying around. Their cash is reinvested or set aside to cover payroll. These types of private businesses also do not want nor could sell partial ownership to cover a tax bill each year.

  29. None of these politicians or health officials have been able to give a consistent answer on what is the threshold for herd immunity. It became a moving goalpost just like the lockdowns. In places like SF, 98% of eligible people are vaccinated and the city still mandates the jab or be fired. It is not a public health issue anymore. It is politicians excerting control and seeing how far they can push without triggering a recall.

  35.  @norezenable  I am not saying everything goes back to normal immediately. Even states that reopen are taking safety measures that restrict capacity. Some businesses that reopen are at 25-50% capacity or only doing takeout with a limited menu or doing appointments only to limit crowds. At the minimum, the businesses survive long enough to rehire to full capacity when it is safe.
