Second, the machinery in TSMC factory are maintained online by ASML. At moment notice, ASML can brick the machine, and all China willl have are machines that won't function. China propaganda themselves was taunting ASML about it, saying that if ASML does that, they will sue ASML into bankruptcy. The more possible result is the world will lost two third of semiconductor supplies, perhaps permanently. That will make semiconductor supply crunch in 2022 feels like a child's play.

  22. Why demographic inversion will be a problem? Chinese people already accustomed to take care of their parents for millennia, so it won't come as a shock to them. One crucial thing is, unlike in the US or Japan, there are no Social Security type of retirement package in China, so the government did not burden themselves with ever growing obligation and ever shrinking workforce. Their problem is about freedom. People with money will always want more freedom. And the CCP surely won't (can't) allow that. On the other hand, to limit freedom will smother their economic growth. It's a conundrum with the eventual result is whether CCP demise or economic growth falter.

If you watched China Uncensored channel, they made some videos about it. How intact the factories is, depends on how fast the invasion is and how Taiwan's timing the reaction to it. I mean, it will be "funny" if Taiwan blows up the chip factory while China invasion failed to make any foothold in the island.

  25. Don't forget that one of the most perilous thing an army does, is to cross water. If Taiwan can prevents China from crossing the strait for 24 hours (or push them back if necessary), the US and Japan will have a field day to not just to bloody China's nose but break China's jaw as well in the process.

Soviet Union annexed Ukraine, the -stans, Baltic states, etc. which were breakaway from old Russian empire. They even tried (and failed) to annex Finland. And Iceland as a breakaway land from Norway (and close to Soviet Union territory) was a free real estate if USA didn't say they were protected.

  27. One glaring thing that ignored by the video : the super massive urbanization in South Korea. Almost half of its population is living in Seoul. Compare that to Japan with a third of population living in Tokyo. Both countries are leading the lowest fertility rate. If you bet that people living in cities are more likely to not have babies, you have a winning bet.

  32. What Milei wants is "no cooperation" with communist regimes, and not "no diplomatic relation" with communist regimes. So his stance and Trump's is not that different. It is different in the "why" but not in "the end result". Milei thinks communism is evil, Trump thinks communism is a threat to America. That's their difference. Forget about Trump "praising" Kim Jong Un, it's just his diplomacy style. What he said publicly can be very different with what he said about them privately (c'mon, you don't go to press conference and then you talk shit about the other party, ffs Joe, you DON'T). Trump was just courting Kim to negotiate nuclear disarmament. American stance toward North Korea, China, and Cuba were in fact hardened under Trump. That is proof enough that he hates communism. In conclusion, both person hate communism, but the reason is different. Trump hates communism because it's a threat to America, and Milei hates communism because it's evil. Not in any sense that Trump (as you portray him) is friendly with communist regimes.

Sure, he later supplied Ukraine with a lot of weapons, but wouldn't it be cheaper to both NATO AND Ukraine if Russia didn't invade? If you said military hate Peronist, you should ask more detail of it, do they hate the people associated with Peron's party or do they hate Peron's ideology. Because sometime, like what happened in my country, we say we hate communism, but if we examine more closely, we only hate the communist party so much that we initiate pogrom against them in the way that make Pinochet shiver. But in everyday life, we use communism rhetoric and implement measures that can be viewed as coming from communism teachings.
