@shughl1 I thought Artur was getting up there in age, Joe was 3-4 years younger and in his prime and I've seen Beterbiev hurt and dropped a couple of times and Smith could punch and he was a good athlete.... not 10 second into the fight I realized the error of my ways.
6
Some of the punches Venado lands SOUND absolutely insane. His record says he's a decent puncher, not crazy power, but he's getting more stoppages now than he was earlier in his career and against pretty good fighters.
6
@decidingpaper6324 Nope. Never counted him out. Think those two losses definitely helped Guido.
6
If Kholmatov can beat Ford, Top Rank could have three featherweight champions. Think 2024 might be time for some unifications.
6
This is Valdez' big shot. Nava hasn't looked great lately, Valdez has to do well.
6
Apparently Wilson got confused and thought the fight would be at featherweight.
6
This is the international broadcast of the fight, the American would have been HBO's. You don't see many other countries that measure weight and height like we do, so they use kilos.
6
I think they get it done. I wish it would be in the Middle East, on neutral ground, but I'm sure Usyk will go back to the UK if they pay him enough to. I still think they fight sometime in the first half of the year
6
Wish Kenshiro was fighting unifications but with the other champions busy, Canizales is probably the next best option. He's in his prime, he's a former champion and he's fought in Japan before and won. I got Kenshiro by decision, but it should be a good fight.
6
Time for Torrez to step up and Guido's a good fighter. Winner's in a good position and it isn't the end of the world for the loser either.
6
@brandon.j.gipson The WBO already has him ranked #1 so, assuming he doesn't lose to Pedraza, the next time a WBO mandatory is due, he's their guy.
6
He pretty much killed poor Mohammedi but THANKFULLY he was fine and is back to hopefully finishing up his career as a European level gatekeeper. I really would like to see Mbilli against a talented counterpuncher before he fights the best guys, but if Derevyanchenko is still near his best, he should give him a good fight. Lets see!
6
They'll be talking about this fight until the end of time. The DLH - Hopkins fight was on the exact same day as well, five years later.
6
@decidingpaper6324 It's justified now. Sure. But the filth that he became as a promoter for the most part doesn't wipe out what he did as a fighter. You take his name out and see all the guys he fought and you literally come away thinking that guy who fought all those fighters was probably just a really active/popular journeyman, not a six weight world champion.
6
@decidingpaper6324 He looks good, we have to see what happens when he takes a big shot. Does he keep his form or does he go for blood.
6
@WhiskeyMyersour Yep, good point. Conlan's probably done now.
6
Rooting for Yoka but I think Estrada takes it by comfortable decision.
6
@decidingpaper6324 You'd have to take Navarrete, but Bell is just so damn tall and awkward and he has some pop and good skills. No shock at all if he beats either Nava or Valdez at this point; but the guy's been mandatory for like a year or so and then Nava was super champion so he got to have #1 ranking when he moved up for Berinchyk and while he was gone, MYSTERIOUSLY, they allow a fight for an interim title between two fighters who were not the mandatory so Nava loses and comes back and VALDEZ, not Bell is waiting on him. So if Nava wins, this is him taking care of his mando so it's another year (or a year and half if they still allow him to play by super champion rules) that Bell has to wait. Just awful luck he's had since leaving TR.
6
That's right. The low waive is like the safe call in baseball. That's what he did.
6
Yep. These two are hilarious together. This is awesome.
6
@bornanagaming3329 Jermell's had a better career than Jermall. He has a couple of losses now but he was undisputed champion.
6
@howlingwolf125y And he did end up beating, arguably (but likely), the best cruiserweight at the time in Jirov when he was up there.
6
@Nelson_Muntz-i7s Typically I'd agree with you but, after watching both of them, I think Fury MAYBE better than Perry, but IF he is, it isn't by much.
6
Akpe was absolutely hopeless in this fight. I watched the old WSB fight between Makhmudov and Vianello - I think Guido has a decent chance in this fight. After that miserable first round, he got it together.
6
I think the ref thought Nakathila was gone for a second there. I don't think he was gone.
6
@aaronc7778 I agree with that. I think you teach them the basics so they'll have it to rely on if/when they need it, but if they show some type of talent, you let them develop it. Roy Jones broke a lot of rules as well and it turned out fine for him.
6
Now where in the world did they find Jonathan Romero?? Abraham Nova should fight Albert Bell.
6
Galindo looks a little like Junior.
6
@wtfdude687 He's 38 years old, coming off a loss and he's a jr featherweight. Full credit to Doheny; he's a really good fighter and he's had an excellent career but no way should he be fighting for a title at 126 right now.
6
They're only going to put Top Rank fights on here, that was a PBC fight.
6
@psychosocialcom I don't think his power will be as effective at the higher weight. If Campa were a lightweight, even a tough one, I think he would have been out of there much earlier with all of those shots he was taking. And that division is too difficult for anyone to unify it "easy" imo. It wasn't easy for Taylor.
6
I remember reading an interview with Barrera talking about Morales and he said that guy had power that was "criminal". He said every time he hit you, "it was like heaven moved you". They were just a perfect pair. Made for some of the greatest times ever.
6
I think this was Conlan's last shot. I'd be shocked if he worked his way back to another title fight now.
6
Michael Moorer was a killer at lightheavyweight. He moved up to heavy and had to be a bit more careful, but he still was in some really fun fights. I always wonder what might've happened had he stuck around at 175 though until Roy got there.
6
I've seen worst decisions, I've seen one worse this year even and full credit to Conceicao - he did his best and he isn't a judge, but those judges broke in Foster's house and STOLE his title from him and did it on national television. "Robbery" is an overused word in boxing, but this one was a legit, 100% robbery. No way in hell Conceicao won this fight an if you think he won it EIGHT ROUNDS TO FOUR.... I don't even know what to say about that.
5
That's why there's nothing like a FIGHT. Doesn't matter what the score is or how much time is left, it can end at any time in either direction.
5
I knew Judah's low blow to rabbit punch combination would be somewhere on here.
5
Never would I have thought that Juanma would have ended up like that. Not even after the Mtagwa fight.
5
Man tells you his name is Ali, you call him Ali.
5
Thought Mielnicki edged it late but good for Coyle for finally taking his shot. Gualtieri fights tomorrow, Mielnicki - Gualtieri would be a nice next fight imo.
5
Obviously Beterbiev should go on to Bivol, but I think Yarde did well, he didn't shame himself and I'd like to see him maybe fight Joe Smith Jr. next.
5
There's a difference between physical strength and punching power.... and George Foreman is at least in the conversation for being #1 in both.
5
@ThailandBeyondTourism He's fought since Kabayel. This is his second fight after that one, he fought in April/May.
5
One of the best women's fights you will ever see. Mayer could have played it safe and boxed from the outside, but she stood her ground and fought Hamadouche on her terms.
5
@VeganDefinition He would beat my favorite fighter, but my favorite fighter is a bantamweight. Now at what point did I say he sucked??? Indongo doesn't suck. Neither does Rosario, JRock, Hurd or any of them. But we're comparing them to other UNIFIED world champions - literally some of the greatest fighters of all time. You reading stuff that I didn't write. Maybe I do need help, but you do too.
5
@decidingpaper6324 I think their quality of opposition is pretty similar and between them, CLEARLY, Munguia has fought the single best fighter. He lost that fight but maybe fighting Canelo has helped him a bit. We will surely see against Bazinyan.
5
I thought Kambosos clearly lost to Maxi Hughes in his last fight. This would make four consecutive losses for him imo; but good for Loma for getting the finish.
5
Josh Taylor got undisputed and it's been almost all downhill since then. Only won one fight in like the last four years and most people think he lost that one. Hopefully a move to welterweight gives him a boost.
5
Absolutely nothing like watching Roy Jones Jr. anywhere near his prime.
5
So much fun watching Roy anywhere near his best. Gonzalez had a really fun career. He took Dariusz' 0 (and did it in Germany which should probably count for like 3-4 wins), beat David Telesco, Glen Johnson and Montell Griffin and won that ridiculous fight with Julian Letterlough. Shame he had to go when he did.
