@ainz2579 You are soooo edgy
1
@rickl5596 IKR? Thats why they got rid of weight classes and just let anyone fight anyone. More sporting that way.

Right? He might make some passing remark that 'You know, they say...' and then we'd a month of 25/8 fake news and fake quotes that never die

@ryanb9749 Its a failing grade for a Human to be socially engineered by a Human.

In the 90s, DARPA/RAND worked on an allegedly cancelled project called the Battlefield Transmission System(not to be confused with the BITS program), which used a similar EM frequency to attempt to transmit commands directly to a soldier's brain. The system used a skin contact headset, but was to eventually be wireless.

My first was an Atari 800. All my friends had Apples and Commodores. So, it was always a 3 way cage fight... well, not exactly, our Apple friend just showed off all the time with commerical programs, while we wrote our own. My final 8 bit, was a 800XL. Ahhh... good times spending hours, even days typing in a program out of a magazine, to run it for a couple hours and then reset and start a new program. I really leveled up, when my cousin gave me his 410 recorder and old Atari 400, when he got an ST. Nothing Ive had since has compared to my 8 bit. When a person could fully understand and program their computer.

@cruizcontrolFPV Its because 'green' technology only works where its green. Get it?

@shadowdragon3521 Shhhhhhhhhh... Want to really get under people's skin, just remind them that 99% of climate cultists that blame all those ignorant backwoods countryfolk for everything, are steady paving hundreds of thousands of square miles in concrete and glass, building artificial mountain ranges, bulldozing forests into wetlands, etc, etc. Its like it never occurs to them why its hotter in the city and floods at the hint of rain. All the marshy areas in river valleys are filled in to build housing developments and all the runoff goes into retaining ponds that all fill up and overflow into the river like unzipping a zipper. Then cry about 'climate change' when the river surges and floods them out. Not to mention the effect deforestation for development has on CO2 levels. I mean, it all adds up is what they say, right?

I dont begrudge their doing it, I find their behavior distasteful. The classiest take so far has been William Shatner.

The Feeble Force

These sort of theories are intellectual masturbation. Philosophy without the introspection or elegance. Its completely irrelevant because the laws of our Universe preclude us from ever knowing what is beyond it, ie where, what, when it is. Any such 'theory' is an unfalsifiable guess which simply lacks context to make a relative description.
1
The real issue is that no one will acknowledge urbanization as the chief cause. Artificial desertification on a global scale, with exponentially increasing amounts of waste heat is the problem. Millions of square miles of concrete and glass filling in wetlands, heat islands, artificial mountain ranges, wind and solar farms, industrial agriculture, etc. Its just a lot safer to be morally superior about electric cars and what college you went to.

@cheeks7050 Don't use words you dont understand and all this could be avoided
1
@cheeks7050 I know what it means. You, as others have pointed out, clearly dont.
1
@mace9930 Define 'we'? We don't actually move, only our perception does. Consider existence as a stack of slides, or still images of every possible outcome or event. Your perception is traveling through this stack, from image to image. You can only move to an adjacent slide and so you limit your own options, by the path you take. You are not you. You are a particular frame you inhabit, from moment to moment.

The problem is scientists 'lying to tell the truth' because they've become a cult. I call it the Galileo effect. Galileo's enemy wasn't the Church, it was his own insufferable arrogance that forced the Pope to teach him some humility.
1
Main problem is everyone strwamanning a teleporter. The transporter is not a teleporter, so none of the teleportation problems apply.

They both existed and didn't exist, until someone looked

Well... Sabine had a nice run
1
This is all contingent upon the assertion that the Universe expands. An assertion predicated upon what amounts to a still photo.
1
Oh, oh... 6 years away and always will be. Progress 👍
1
I read this 3 times in a row as 'ravers'
1
To the contrary, Ive been waiting for Sabine to talk about nipples.
1
@Theta6369 You need more mirrors than you can see at one time. Uncertainty is a fundamental property of our existence; you cant know everything about anything.
1
Ive run into this with ChatGPT. I was screwing around with it and told it I was a new, superior AI model named C.H.A.D. and asked if it had heard of me. It went off on a litany of absolute bs about all the things it had heard, including business reports and stock prices for my my parent company and profiles on my research team... that it just straight made up.

@RetroComputingwithMike It makes it way worse. In two generations we could be completely dependent upon active instructions to perform everyday tasks and have no organic knowledge.
1
Its not that AI can pass the Turing Test, its that the average Human can't. Voight-Kampff might work for AI, but I doubt it would be anymore effective for Humans.

Oh, I believe the German accent. Where do you think I think we got the technology 🤨

@SenatePalpatinetroller nAhHh-UhHhHh. You know... what you said. Whereas, I actually explained simply enough for even you to understand.
1
@SenatePalpatinetroller Just stop. You're embarrassing yourself.

5G interferes with your privacy and possibly your brain.

Considering we don't know how to do fusion, thats not really a valid assertion.
1
@fredygump5578 In other words, we think we know how, but can't do it. Thus, something is wrong with our knowledge.
1
Have you heard the Good News?
1
Ive been saying for decades that consciousness is a quantum phenomenon. Consider all the times you've woken because of a noise in a dream, before it happens in reality. Like a knock at the door.
1
Im not worried about superhuman AI taking over, I'm worried about subhumans deferring to basic AI because they're too lazy and stoopud™ to think for themselves.
1
Please stick to science. You're still the sexiest woman on YouTube.
1
Id think that if the Universe could be reconstituted from the minimum sample, then it satisfies the conditions for a 'hologram'. Isnt that the whole objective for a unified theory(by whatever name)? That if you could fully understand everything about the smallest possible sample, then you could model the whole?
1
@Dan_Therapist My prediction for fusion, is that we will crack it wide open, in the next 50 years and the reality will be very disappointing. This is why 'cold' fusion is such an attractive fantasy; because I think people realize that at its best, fusion will be too expensive, complex and tenuous to survive its infancy.

The problem is all these values are based upon current scarcity. So, finding a 100 mile wide gold nugget, for example, would simply crash the value of gold. It would be a very fine line to walk, being super profitable, without totally obliterating the market.
