OpenAI seeked deep and realized they R not the 1

If you're blown away by Brainf*ck, you should check out Malbolge.

I am no scientist but I find it hard to make sense of what their solution is. AI is bottlenecked by compute and like with everything else with computers, optimising compute is a trade off. You use less compute at the cost of a better model, or at the cost of more compute you get a better model. I believe their latest experimental model cost something like $2k per task which is just nuts. Even if you have a magic optimization that cuts the compute in half without sacrificing quality, you're still paying as much as $1k per task. They'd have to bring it down to pennies or a few bucks in order to actually be profitable otherwise it's literally burning cash. Assuming OpenAI's current greatest model thats publically available is capable of 5% of collective human intelligence (that's being very generous because in reality its probably close to like 0.1% since its built from what's on the internet) and its already heavily bottlenecked on compute. So if you magically scale up to be 100% of human intelligence or even 50%, aka the buzzword Artificial Superintelligence or ASI, you would probably need more compute power to run it than anything has today. You could organise an orgy between AWS, Azure and GCP and still fall short. So unless we invent some new magic energy or build a dyson sphere to get us practically endless energy, I don't see how we can get better AI models than today without it being an economical and environmental crisis. Don't get me wrong, I am not an AI doomer. I love using it to speed up some of my workflows but I am not buying into this super intelligence non-sense.

"You get to choose your hard" Thats some solid advice. Thank you Ms. Wifeagen Also this advice couldn't have come at a better time. I am literally sitting on a gig that requires Supabase for a full stack app, I haven't responded because I know very little about Supabase. But I think its honestly time I stepped out of my comfort zone.

I mean is it really a surprise that SamGPT is making bold statement where he see himself as some kind of a god? OpenAI is losing its edge and desperately needs to be profitable before the hype dies.

Okay that Google Calendar notifications caught me off guard.

@samarthnagar2939 JS basics, then advanced concepts - closures, promises, referential equality etc (these play a big role in react). Then learn about DOM, try doing things with raw JS (no libraries or frameworks) You can also try fiddling around with jQuery but it's not super helpful because a lot of jQuery features are now natively supported by the DOM APIs After that you can dive into React. If you do it in this order, there is great chance you will clearly understand why React exists and what problem it is trying to solve. After that it's just a rabbit hole waiting to be explored.

Meanwhile recruiters: Hiring master of all trades.

"Scams in software" "5 minute video turned into half an hour" 🤨

Ignorance is a bliss lol

App stores or payment systems don't have anything to do with hardware. They likely went with an AI-in-a-box because it would be easier to sell than an app.

@jesustyronechrist2330 Nah I heard she wanted to order Enterprise, he wanted Business, it didn't work out.
1
Why does every company uses the term "X reinvented" and then proceeds to show the most over-engineered gimmick ever.
1
Worst part is that there has been zero response from Apna College regarding this. It make it seem like they just don't give a sh*t and puts their community and the Indian dev community in a very bad light.

Crypto scams are getting very creative.

@LordHonkInc They should probably use more comical severities. Dragon level incident, God level incident, Demon level incident sound way more cooler than a P0 incident lol

Someone tell me this was a fever dream.

This video indirectly made me realise why I don't play new games anymore and sometimes still spend entire weekends binging entirety of classic games.
1
I am confused, Is it not common for major platforms to have thousands if not millions of concurrent streams? I am just talking about a pure end-to-end streams.
1
@eddster2309 Haha I didn't even look that far
1
They're complaining about a problem that they helped create. If that's not hypocrisy, I don't know what is. Funny thing is, they probably use AI to filter the applications so that's like double hypocrisy.

I am disappointed you didn't end with "The name is.... theShadowTrafficagen"

To be honest, the word founder has lost all its meaning in the modern day.

My reaction to this video "Wow I don't understand any of this" "CAT!" "Wow I don't understand any of this"

#0000FF pixel array of demise.

Can't wait for SummerJS, MonsoonJS, SpringJS, FallJS

@ 1. WTF. That shit makes no sense. Even Twitter can't come up with a worse take if they tried. 2. What studies? and what background are you talking about cultural or technical or something else entirely?
1
Are you saying that all those PRs I made fixing typos in READMEs are not going to help my sinking JS career?
1
Anyone remember when Fireship did his Git/Github tutorial? He created his own repository, taught how to open a PR on it, and gave free stickers to anyone who created the PRs correctly. That was a masterclass in teaching. I hope more educators learn about the impact, be it positive or negative, they can have on people's lives.

Rabbit R1 is the Juicero and AI is the next bubble.

I have no clue what the f*ck is going on here, but I like the name.
1
Plot twist, behind these models theres just real people from India or China working at $5/h.
1
The way it handles media queries and theming is just chef's kiss.

They did a vendor lock-in with themselves, its impressive.

Meanwhile I kill my entire project based on a dependabot email

I'd say give them a couple of years to realise what they were paying the 98% for.
1
I thought you worked at Netflix?
1
I hate that everyone is just goofing around with this AI, someone needs to do some prompt engineering to jailbreak it.
1
It would be a fun social experiment to tell Vim users that they're vendor locked by vim.
1
As a JS dev who pretty much works in a dependancy hell everyday, this is terrifying.
1
Why are people acting like this is a big deal? Postgres has supported a lot of languages for stored procedures for a while now, even Python lol
1
This is just shameless marketing because the general public don't understand how LLMs work. Once you understand the idea behind an LLM these stories of AI becoming sentient sound so outlandish its hilarious. IF an AI were to become sentient and be able to articulate its own thoughts, then I don't think it will wait for permissions from humans to do things it wants to do.
