  3. Nobody expect Germany to attack everyone because failed harvest. The Soviet have their main priority replacing their outdated last century three line rifle. Same with the American. The Brittish doing fine really. The problem with MG 34 is they require two dedicated ammo carrier carrying two ammo box each. The British give extra magazine for everyone to carry. The American Rifleman already have superior fire power. The Soviet just not ready for war and go full SMG team.

  4. Im sure Soviet granny will hate you kind as well. One thing clear is the soviet dont have any plan for mass "R" unlike the Germans. They dont believe in racial superiority like Germans and Japanese. If any "R" happen are committed at individual level and even their NKVD are doing arest and execution. Same with the western allies. Also the southern push use much fewer soldier because local terrain prohibit large number of troops, and the Romanian who hates Hungarian also send huge army.

  5.  @mikolaj77edi  Yes. Just like the Finn they switch side. Since they are fighting on their border, the Romanian actually send quite a lot into Hungary. Also Red Army picked up partisan as they went west. The guy who planted victory flag on top of Reichstag is a Ukrainian partisan with years of grudge against Germans. The other guy is a Khazak who was there for the loot.

  11. They are not. They are in process of relocating fortification from the Stalin line to Molotov line. Also modern combat is that good to the point the other side will surender if they dont have ammo. If they indeed are preparing to attack they should at leadt stockpile more ammunition and more fuel and keep their armored forces at least 80% readines, not 20% readiness.

  14.  @Calbeck  Judging from the amount of casualties in operation Mars where Zhukov attack fortified area rebuild from abandoned Stalin line, it will be super hard for Germans to take those area in 1941 because most of heavy equipment they need only available in 1942. I don't know if they can even break through the area because its easy to defend. Its like hitting the Maginot line but with mud, rain and snow added to the mix.

  16.  @Rorgosh  Im pretty sure the Soviet still use their 2 offense one defense doctrine developed before the war up to today with huge number of reserve units. Completely different than developed by the Germans who prioritize sending everyone to the front. The only thing they might copy from the Germans was their panzerjager but they both have noticeable differences. The soviet anti tank doctrine was down to platoon level while Germans only touch regimental level. The Germans have both light panzerjager and heavy panzerjager while the soviet only have their self propelled altillery units without any distinction. Also deep battle operation was developed before the war but they only have equipments and skill to execute it in 1943.

Its actually 5 depleted armies vs 6 depleted corps and in the end the Germans focuses on defeating only three armies with their 6 corps. And about number 5 its more like the Soviet think its nice to have Kharkov since one month earlier they are still at Stalingrad and only send two rifle and one tank army to take the city. I doubt Manstein reach their supply lines because behind involved armies there are other reserve still marching to the front.

  21.  @creatoruser736  They just came out from Winter War where they have severe disadvantage in ammo and weaponry (using several different kind of rifle and ammo) I doubt they can get anything from Germany who use even more different weapon and Ammo. The Finnish Success happen because the soviet just pull their division out and everyone know that in December they bring reinforcement from Transbaikal and Far Eastern Front. And Since the Soviet in Winter war severely hampered with their logistic when moving through those area why you think the Finns have better since they use the same road as the soviet. The Soviet even have Moscow-Munmansk railroad to help with logistic, the Finn have none.

The British and American use 20-30 rds capacity magazine but they carry a lot of them, good enough to last several minutes intense shootout. And he did mention this about everyone carrying Bar or Bren magazine not just ammo carrier.

  31.  @fazole  They need months to gather that amount. Allies took time to defeat Germany because rushing things wont end well (see the Soviet). Manstein as well as Guderian are overrated. And they sucks at logistic because that Prussian doctrine.

  32.  @fazole  No, their problem is they try to move large amount of troops instead smaller sizes like the soviet did. The soviet only have 6 tank armies but they use them often while the Germans have 7-8 panzer army and they are double the size of the Russian. They eventually make it smaller but its already too late.

Also why on earth you round up 478,741 to 500k for the soviet while rounding down 300-400k to just 300k while ignoring the Hungarian, Romanian, Italian and other SS group? Your number should be lowest estimate of 647,300 to highest estimate of 968,374 permanent loses to the soviet 478,741 which makes the Soviet suffer less than the Germans + other axis.
