  2. I like Brendan O'Neill and agree with a lot of what he says. I don't agree with all his views but the point is he is free to air them and I am free to listen and make up my own mind. That's why I, as a generally pretty left wing liberal person, no longer associate with the left. Identity politics, groupthink and censorship are abhorrent to me and I find myself defending the so-called alt right nowadays because they appear to share more of my values!!! It's weird to feel that way. I'm not easily offended at all - Milo, Carl Benjamin and co aren't even on my radar of offensiveness. I find screeching, violent sjws and antifa obsessing over 'bad' words and identities, rather than actions or real equality, far more offensive.

I’ve been watching and studying Islam since I was 18 and was shaken to my foundations by the gall of the Ayatollah and the mealy-mouthed capitulation of the West when Iran openly called for the murder of Salman Rushdie - a western novelist - for the crime of writing a book. Western weakness became apparent to me then and it has only gotten worse.

  6. Calvin, I’ve always liked you very much, you are accepted and respected - but running away is NOT what native Brits do. We stand and fight for our country. As a Christian that is even more the case. We don’t have another homeland to go to - this is it. I will NEVER willingly let my country fall to Islam or communism. If history teaches us anything it’s that if you are not willing or able to fight for your country you lose it!! I hope very much you return, that this is not the end. We need NUMBERS and we need BELIEVERS in our country. This is the fight of our generation.

  12. As with all religions, ideologies, humans, everything is about power. The West has lost its mojo and other ideologies are moving in aggressively to fill the void - Communism and Islamism. We either regain our self belief and robustly defend our civilisation, or we let it die. It's up to us.

  16. Britain deserves to retain its distinctive culture and ethnicity like any other nation. We are very welcoming of people who want to live here, but they have to understand we want Britain to be Britain - not Somalia, Pakistan or Afghanistan or Romania. All those places have their own space and distinctiveness, which we can value and respect, but if you live in Britain you need to love this country and want to be British, to take on board our cultural norms, our values, our history, our strengths, flaws and idiosyncrasies. We are not prepared to give it up for you to extend the territory of your home country. No. No. No. DEMOGRAPHICS MATTER and cultures die if they are not actively fought for and preserved.

  17. This is the tip of the iceberg. We’ve had running battles between Indians and Pakistanis. In London, Somali clans fight each other. As illegals cross Europe fights break out between them over one enmity or another. We also get rival criminal gangs from Ireland, Albania, Romania, Vietnam and elsewhere. I’m sick of it.

It’s now clear this was a delaying and deflecting tactic with no intention of actually doing anything. The British Empire had full participation from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland, all of whom have largely shared culture and genetic norms over the many centuries, and in reality very little distinguishes us. It's a shame some of you just don't see it.

Is she unaware that patron saints are symbols not real people (St George and the Dragon?) and symbolic of the spread of Christianity across Europe? It doesn’t matter where he was or wasn’t born! St Patrick wasn’t Irish and St Andrew wasn’t Scottish. So what? And a nation is never going to put a a foreign nation’s interests first!

  37. Rishi Sunak I think is culturally British and - giving him the benefit of the doubt - shows loyalty to Britain. So I accept him as a British compatriot. I have no problem with him. He’s not English though. You have to be of Anglo Saxon/Celt/Viking/Norman stock (ie North Western European DNA) and your ancestors here for at least 4 generations to qualify for that, in my opinion. English is an ethnicity tied to geography and DNA. For example Donald Trump is actually ethnically of the British Isles. The USA is an anomaly to most places as it is a relatively recent creation. Give it a few hundred years and maybe American will too be a distinct ethnicity - or maybe not. Globalisation has upended millennia of human normality by confusing what it means to be of a national ethnicity and identity where change would happen either very very slowly through assimilation - or violently through war and conquest. It is disconcerting and causes civil unrest and the loss of high trust societies which have been built up over many generations. We STILL have tribal hatreds and resentments from conflicts hundreds if not thousands of years ago! Just look at the Middle East!! Even closer to home look at the victimhood narrative and prejudice between ‘the Irish’ and ‘the English’ when 99% of the English had feck all to do with any of it!! Yet we’re all collectively to blame somehow. It’s also funny how the Left claims to love ‘diversity’ while actively attempting to destroy it and create a beige featureless global melange of leftist automatons.

  49. It was deeply embedded in universities arts degrees back in the 90s when I was there. All those graduates are now in their 40s and 50s and in positions of privilege and power in the media, arts and education. It really is like an infection.
