  1. Now we need to be doing the same thing over here in the UK. New ammunition orders in Europe don’t seem to have actually gone ahead, at least not until this month. Don’t know whether that includes the UK, but we still need actual physical evidence that we as well are actually increasing our ammunition manufacturing. At the very least, we need to be showing actual evidence that we are expanding the manufacturing base with real building and factory construction. So far we have seen none of this. We need to critically do this NOW.

  2. Okay now this is good news. I wasn’t aware that when they were mentioning the switchblade drones before that they were actually referring to 1000 of them. When they announce they will be sending 100 units I assumed that just meant 100 switchblades which we all know wouldn’t be nearly enough which could be used up in just a week. But if it is true that that means each one of the units contains ‘10 switchblades’, then this will definitely make a huge impact on the enemy. These will be vital in the battle ahead in the Donetsk region. Thanks US for doing this. The UK is also going to be sending its own variant of the switchblade drone which should help as well.   3. It was indeed right to send the Royal Navy over. Especially as it is such a short hop. We should be doing more regular routes around our islands anyway. We can’t deny though, HMS Tamar looks great on her first deployment after her new dazzle paint job.👌🏼

  4. The reduction in the number of troops that are planned is still absolutely unacceptable. We have enough money to keep the amount we already have yet we are screwing ourselves over again and again for newer tech. We need an army probably 2 or 3 times the size we already have. This is killing us in the long run. I am VERY GLAD THOUGH that the number of regiments in Scotland and Wales will increase. That is a bit of a surprise but also a huge relief.

  5. It’s great that there are still people with this level of military experience training the volunteers and much-needed service personnel in Ukraine with these techniques. Glad they are doing it during the cycling out of the fighters so they can just keep coming back better and better trained. We need to get as many trained and veteran fighters over there to help with the training as well as fighting as possible. We aren’t exactly short on that right now. I’m surprised though they said there were approximately 5000 foreign volunteers in the Ukrainian foreign Legion. That must mean then a lot of the rest of them must have joined other Ukrainian volunteer units to help in the fight, as I thought the number of foreign volunteers who had gone over was much much higher than that!?

  7. They were right to ask these questions. We all agree with them. These are the very same things we’ve been asking and saying for well over a decade, if not two decades now and the Army chiefs have just kept rebutting on their previous statements. Well, current events have proven them to be incorrect. We need new equipment in the thousands and more soldiers by tens of thousands.

  8. Well, if you want to scare the enemy, you definitely want to give it a name like Sky Saber and Starstreak. That is totally epic. Forget Poland though. We need to be sending these to Ukraine as well. These are the ones they actually need it right now. They could massively help the people on the ground and they don’t seem like they are that much harder to learn how to use alongside the javelin and NLAW systems. How many of these do we actually have manufactured so far though?

  11. Overall both are nations can definitely benefit from this closer cooperation. Both financially, economically and militarily. Especially with the ever-growing threat of China which we will inevitably have to combat militarily in the coming months if not years.

  12. I’m just hoping that with the lessons, we’ve learned from all of this and what Ukraine has gone through, we are giving Ukrainian soldiers both in and outside of the country the necessary knowledge to be able to survive this winter. That on top of enough winter weather, equipment and supplies.

  13. Well, the fact that you say that makes me question if you are actually a part of the army. This part of our Armed Forces is hugely regarded with a lot of respect. The training in this is just as hard as any other if not higher considering the animal component. This is an important part of our history and culture, not to mention is good for helping, continue the breeding and support of equine life in the UK and the culture of riding in general, not to mention the great benefits people who are in say the household cavalry get which can be used once they leave the army. Plus the household cavalry is half ceremonial and half practical military training. The household cavalry actually worked with armoured vehicles out in Afghanistan, as that is the other half of the work, so they are actually a part of the regular army as well and is not a waste of money. They are doing the work in fact we are paying for, for those who are so obsessed with it. also, if you were in another regiment like King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, you continue the tradition of using the old guns and that can definitely be developed going forward. Also, if you leave the army with the skills you’ve gained, like being a farrier, that can be a long and distinguished career. My dad was in that regiment and he has been a farrier for decades now as a result.

  14. Absolute wonderful to see. Thank you for sharing this with us. Horses inside must feel a little bit down. I bet having to return to Knightsbridge after two months in the countryside and having to return to training. But I’m guessing some of them are used to it by now, if it isn’t their first time. Must be quite a hassle but also rather enjoyable getting the horses back to standard again. Good to see the farriers as well. Great to see these skills continuing in big thanks to the army. Both in the Household Cavalry and Kings Troop. Everyone really does have their work cut out for this year in the coronation. Just like with our beloved Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, this will be a moment to remember forever.

I wonder if the increase in intake is also due to Covid and therefore more of them are looking to go into military careers because of loss of jobs in their hometowns!? Either way this is a wonderful sight to behold and absolutely wish every last one of the recruits the best of luck in the Gurkha regiment.

  17. I just hope, if the Royal Air Force is now trialling it, that Ukraine has been able to get the most out of them. We haven’t heard any new news about whether Ukraine still has them or whether they will be receiving more of them. If they are capable of working in subzero temperatures, I’d imagine they will be very important in the coming months.

  19. To me, the change is happening way to quickly. I do indeed believe that there are certain roles in the military that should generally discourage women from joining. Both in saving them time and also the military’s resources. I know many popular-culture people won’t like this opinion, but it is by far majority the truth. Lowering the standards for female training just to get more of them in the army for one is absolutely appalling, and is the very highest reason why so many people are upset in the first place, yet ‘woke people’ (I say that because it feels like the largest demographic who do this) don’t want to acknowledge this because they’re just happy to bash anyone who doesn’t agree with them as being somehow ‘sexist’, just because they are acknowledging the actual ‘obvious’ physical differential facts between genders. FACT It is good though that for safety at least the new Vertis body armour suit is scalable to both men and women. That body armour is really cool and has been the way to go for a long time now. It’s taken them way too long to get it from the drawing board to actual practical use. It’s still going through trials which is so annoying as it should really be with all of our soldiers now.

  20. Here here. Lowering standards for women just to get more of them in to satisfy a lot of people on the ‘popular left’ side is absolutely appalling and is one of the top reasons really why the whole decision of allowing women into every branch of the military is so worrying.

This video is now a few hours out of date, as Joe Biden has officially said now that the US will not block any country from giving F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, and will now indeed help in the further training of Ukrainian fighter pilots on F-16s. This will apparently be done in one of its European neighbours and will begin in a few weeks, but still will not be, as of now giving F-16s itself. Apparently the training will have to last quite few months which was inevitable, but this is still really great news.

  23. It is a shame though that the expansion is being made at a huge cost to the army. Not to mention we won’t be getting as many F35s as we originally intended. So long as of course we do use that money being saved to indeed develop our own variant, it should be okay. Fingers crossed though it is just as advanced and capable of the same abilities. With these new ships coming in though, we really need them to be arriving as a whole, earlier than 2050. More like 2035. Especially with most likely a large-scale conflict with a nation like China or with greater North Sea threats from Russia in the very near future.

  25. Yeah I’ve never heard about it until today. I’m glad the UK saw sense here to send even ‘in development’ equipment that is still in line with what they believe they can send right now. It means I guess the UK gets to know that the equipment actually works speeding up RND time and help those who need it most. We really should be sending far more equipment that is far more deadly at long range than we are right now, but this is still good to hear.

  31. I just hope that we actually do intend to perhaps try and give some of this equipment over to the Ukrainian forces as well. It doesn’t seem like it would be much harder for them to learn how to use in a very short amount of time at all. They need it a lot more than us right now if we intend to just sit here in the other neighbouring countries doing nothing.

I hope Ukrainian crews can get to grips with these babies and trained to the necessary standard like they have been with the US HIMARS and 290 anti-air defence vehicles systems. The course will reeeally need to be sped up, like with all the other courses that have been done for Ukrainian forces so far, but for these proper beasts, we NEEEED to make sure the standards are maintained and they truly represent the best of British workmanship and training over there when they’re done. Good luck to them, and the trainers who will be tasked to do this.

All of the branches of the armed forces were out in force with so many regiments represented here in numbers I don’t think I’ve ever seen before in person. Glad I was able to be here for the occasion. Absolute perfect day for it. Won’t ever forget it.

  37. Absolutely. The same goes for Tankies really. I’m pretty sure Ukraine would be able to fill it’s necessary criteria, especially for Challengers and Leopards if they openly invited veterans, who have experience on them to come and help directly in Ukraine.

It’s really distinctive but I can definitely tell it breaks up the outline. We really should put it on the rest of our surface fleet. Bring back the identity we created again.

India has the numbers but isn’t anywhere near close to level advancement required for a modern army by comparison to a country like China, which is where of course the UK comes in. Together along with other Commonwealth countries we can be a very significant fighting force against them.
