@DAPS-bl7ez CBC News, Oct 28, 2023:- "A year later, Netanyahu was further embarrassed when photos of suitcases full of cash going to Hamas became public. Liberman finally resigned in protest over Netanyahu's Hamas policy which, he said, marked "the first time Israel is funding terrorism against itself ... Netanyahu's education minister Naftali Bennett also denounced the payments, and also quit."

"Liberal" doesn't mean anything; it's not a word that has much purchase in the UK, we tend to talk in terms of socialist (left wing) or conservative (right wing) principles. Younger Brits listen to a lot of American media who use the false dichotomy of liberal vs conservative, and then continue their ramble built on words that haven't been clearly defined. So it ends up being a meaningless, mangled mess of a statement. What exactly does "women are more liberal" mean? Are they voting Green or Liberal Democrat? No. Are they more engaged in civic minded endeavours, like charities, labour unions, green initiatives? No. Are they more promiscuous? Yes. So that makes them "liberal", does it?

Politicians doing the lip service routine before we all vote for independents in the GE

At its peak there were over 9,000 Post Office Local branches being operated as franchises of sorts by private retailers. The new owners (post 2011 privatisation) ended the franchise arrangement because they hoped that people would just travel further and use official post offices, internalising the small profits previously made by corner shops and mini markets. Just another case of privatisation gone wrong. Still waiting for a successful example because it can't be just ravenous shareholders, could it?

@GretsGarbo no such call was made. go back to sleep little johnny

@ricardosmythe2548 life under blair/brown Labour (in terms of public services) were FAR better than any tory govt in the post war era
8
@23merlino "the problem is due to men blaming women for there own shortcomings" -- In what way? Which shortcomings? Describe it for me.

@tristm1869 Ironically, you've exposed yourself as being uninformed

@@Ghost_PM15 hahaha. i mean, the screwballs are present today

@DarkhorseSJ The Fourth Geneva Convention (1949) prohibits the targeting of civilians and requires distinguishing between combatants and civilians in military operations. Article 51 specifically prohibits "indiscriminate attacks" and attacks that "employ a method or means of combat which cannot be directed at a specific military objective."

@snakedoctor88 oh be quiet. Labour were far better than any cabinet from 2010 onwards

There is no national piggy bank with a set number of British Pounds. HM Treasury creates pounds out of thin air, and public sector spending causes nearly no inflation since it grows the economy. The source of the majority of price inflation is actually caused by BoE (central bank) interest rate hikes; historically speaking, double digit interest rates have ALWAYS accompanied double digit inflation. Govt spends FIRST, taxes SECOND. The fiscal "deficit" is quite literally private sector income (double entry bookkeeping, people)

@Aaqe "LEAVE THE JEWS IN PEACE" HAHAHAH

@petertownsend2255 They must have missed their penalties because they're black! Oh, no, wait there was Stuart Peace, and Gareth Southgate. I blame the English! 🤣🤣

Average mortgage terms were 12 to 15 years in the 80s. Today, the average term is 27-30 years (more interest!). 50% of adults now have ~£50k university debt, which was FREE for baby boomers and Gen X. Social housing stock is less than 50% of what it was in the 70s and 80s. Young adults today have it harder than any point in post war era.
6
Is Ian endorsing this? I didn't hear any condemnation

Starmer receives funding from 'Labour Friends of Israel', along with 40% of Labour MP's and 80% of Conservative MP's (Conservative Friends of Israel)
6
@alexsosa266 yeah, the offer was: "we took your house, but we're willing to let you stay in the attic". Some "offer"
6
listen, i'm a socialist, and i cant vote for Starmer (Corbyn, yes).

@stephenmurray2851 " So England was completely empty until the 600s lol." Celts, clown, celts. I said as much. They were here before the ancient Romans. READ A BOOK

@jonathandnicholson but it had no legal compulsion, and that's a fact. It was, in fact, an opinion poll with the misnomer "referendum".
5
"Your position is not our fault" -- yeah but US officials basically strong-arm or threaten anyone who doesn't kiss the ring. You're like a mafia boss

"I think the NHS workers are required to pay the extra to support the NHS as well" ---What does this mean? That workers should pay themselves a salary? haha
5
"what would u do?" - Erm what all the other Govts did, process every application on a case-by-case basis. I don't remember this being a problem under labour (they only had a backlog of 7,000, Tory backlog is 166,000). It's not like Joe Average has a say, the Govt needs to do governmental things. wth is going on with the tories?

"Britain is a country where you can believe or not believe as you wish without fear of prejudice. We should be proud of that." believing any old nonsense isn't strength, it's weakness

@רוןניצן-צ4מ Israel's breach of Geneva convention articles: The extensive settlement expansion and evictions in occupied territory are violating Article 49's prohibition on forced population transfers. Israel has admitted to and provided rationale for punitive home demolitions, which contravene Articles 46 & 47 prohibiting collective punishment. Mistreatment and torture of Palestinian prisoners has been reported by numerous detainees over decades, indicating likely violations of Articles 13-26 on humane treatment of prisoners. The sealing and demolitions of attacker's family homes constitutes collective punishment banned under Articles 33 and 75. Import and movement restrictions imposed on Gaza at times when there has been no active armed conflict are violating the requirements to allow humanitarian access in Articles 23, 55 and 59.

@guff9567 Sunak is a multi-millionaire, and his daddy-in-law is a billionaire, and his wife's got more dough than him. Rishi Riche

@jimmagspanton669 Yes it is. Britain started the whole conflict with its Mandate of Palestine.

@SuperSupermanX1999 Ukraine has a military, western backing, international support, and statehood. Gaza has nothing

@evolassunglasses4673 UK is a safe place

Ukraine has a military, western backing, international support, and statehood. Gaza has nothing; that's the difference,

"River to the sea" = Jordan river to the Med. That is Palestine (the West Bank is called so, because it sits on the west bank of the said river, and Gaza is on the sea!). It's only genocidal when Israleis say it, not when Palestinians say it. Israel can stay east of the river and stop their illegal settlements.

@Frank.and.Beanzz but the public's opinion of politicians the world over is replete with cynicism and distrust. I think the voters know, BUT, they have weak spots for immigration and a hatred of other poor people, despite being poor themselves. The best quote I've seen for this seeming contradiction is: "socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires" -John Steinbeck I think it holds true in ersatz America, aka the UK

Chaps, there are plenty of nations outside the EU who are very prosperous. Let's be clear, being outside the EU is not the problem per se, the problem is hurried, rushed, botched, incompetent political actions; these are the same legislators harping on about Rwanda, who can't prevent aerated concrete from being a danger to your kids. Our PM thinks government contracts are for his daddy, and not even his biological dad!
4
@davidcolin6519 oh listen, that's despicable. If you think I'm a servile half-wit Tory voter, you're mistaken. Cheers 🥂

Ian, getting it wrong, as usual. The Fourth Geneva Convention (1949) prohibits the targeting of civilians and requires distinguishing between combatants and civilians in military operations. Article 51 specifically prohibits "indiscriminate attacks" and attacks that "employ a method or means of combat which cannot be directed at a specific military objective." Additional Protocol I (1977) to the Geneva Conventions explicitly prohibits "indiscriminate attacks." Article 51 defines indiscriminate attacks as those which are "not directed at a specific military objective" or "employ a method or means of combat which cannot be directed at a specific military objective." The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (1998) includes as a war crime "intentionally directing attacks against the civilian population as such or against individual civilians not taking direct part in hostilities."

what is wrong with you? tell me what e.g. plumbers have to do with NHS workers or teachers?

i don't think we've ever had a labour shortage that couldn't be easily fixed with Govt labour support programs (educational bursaries, apprenticeships, Govt subsidised vocational training programs and so on).

4:46 - "Are you allowed to do that?" - Bizarre question when discussing self-defence.

@joshuaDstarks I understand that, but where policy is at odds with ethics, ethics must win; at any cost

this is 100% propaganda, and why now? this is all to pull opinion away from any positive outcomes from Tucker's interview

@GretsGarbo This is an excerpt from an Irish Times article dated 2009: "The interview was conducted in 2000 by an American academic, who released it because of a huge controversy last summer over an allegation by a Swedish newspaper that Israel was killing Palestinians in order to harvest their organs. Israel hotly denied the charge. "Parts of the interview were broadcast on Israel's Channel 2 TV over the weekend. In it, Dr Hiss said, "We started to harvest corneas ... Whatever was done was highly informal. No permission was asked from the family."" Another article, this time from The Guardian has the headline: "Doctor admits Israeli pathologists harvested organs without consent" An excerpt: "The admission, by the former head of the country's forensic institute, followed a furious row prompted by a Swedish newspaper reporting that Israel was killing Palestinians in order to use their organs – a charge that Israel denied and called "antisemitic"." Of course, the Swedes, the Irish and the British must all be "antisemitic"
