Companies that don't get the highest profit can't grow as fast, and they die because investments are then made elsewhere. Millions of people are starving and dying of preventable disease every year, arms companies are lobbying for new wars so that they can get richer, and tens of millions of people are about to die from a climate disaster. We quite literally could not be doing worse right now. Even a failed socialism will save countless lives.
