And if it sounds like a lot, remember that nobody expects you to carry out the revolution yourself. Just do what you can, and in five years you'll be surprised at how much you can do.

  15. Worth noting that masculinity was in crisis even back when gender roles were more rigid. It's just that back then, (and I'm talking within living memory here) men who didn't make the cut got locked away, or castrated, or tortured until they changed their behaviour. And nobody, absolutely nobody, would talk about it. It's not that there wasn't a problem, they just made the problem 'disappear'. And although big change feels like a risk, it's no more or less risky than not changing. To use a gambling metaphor, telling the dealer to hit you is exactly as risky as saying 'hold'. The win or loss is the same either way.

  32. I'm in agreement that nobody drops dead from not getting laid, but just so you're aware: The 'passing' eventually passes. There comes a time when you realise that your body will interpret anything more than a handshake as either inappropriately intimate or an act of violence. You can no longer touch or be touched. Hobbies are good, but eventually people split off to start families of their own or devote their decreasing free time to more important friends. Your ability to connect with others atrophies. Just like drinking too much or lifting with your back, you can shrug off the effects of isolation when you're young. But the effects accumulate regardless. Try not to end up this way later in life.

I live in one of the richest countries on earth and our infrastructure is falling apart, life expectancy is going down, malnutrition and homelessness are going up, and our government is explicitly trying to kill as many people as possible.
